What are some of your favorite co-op games?

What are some great PC games to play with a friend (who may be in the same room with you)?

Gang Beasts is hilarious. Overcooked is also great. Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time is quirky and fun co-op.

Is that multiplayer only on a single machine, or can you play on multiple computers?

Single machine only, up to four players. It's tonnes of fun. It's not easy either.

My husband and I loved Castle Crashers back in the day. It's a simple, satisfying, side-scrolling beat-em-up with a lot of charm. We're also about to start up a new farm together on Stardew Valley, which is a relaxing farming/life-sim game. It's the perfect cozy play for cold winter days.

My girlfriend and I play Stardew Valley together. My main issue is that we don't do all that much together in the game other than fighting in the mines.

Definitely the Borderlands series. Easy to get in to, good progression, good writing, and up to four players. I've not yet found anything that compared.

    • Stick Fight: The Game (25% off).
Great game where you play as ragdoll stickmen fighting each other with weapons or your hands. 1-4 players.
    • Move or Die (69% off).
This is a bunch of mini-games where your objective is to be the last one alive. Oh, and you can't stand still or you'll die. 1-4 players.
    • Left 4 Dead (80% off) / Left 4 Dead 2 (80% off) - Bundled (85% off)
Absolute must-have, it has such a creepy atmosphere while not really being scary. I'm not a big fan of zombies, but this is quite the exception. If you get anything get this. 1-4 players, anyone not taken will be a bot; this does not take away from the game, works well as a singleplayer too.
    • Overcooked (75% off)
You and your friends are operating a kitchen, and you're limited on time. Levels progress adding new obstacles, like for example, you're on a wooden ship so it'll sway back and forth moving the kitchen. It honestly sounded like a crappy facebook game at first, but this is the best cooking game I've played, and my friends love it.

Also, not co-op for the most part, but I can't mention multiplayer games without mentioning Jackbox. The Jackbox Party Packs are all on sale right now. You can get all five party packs 58% off, or each individually for 35%-50% off. In order of recomendation: 5-3-2-4-1. The fifth does have a co-op game called Zeeple Dome, though that's a bit mixed on reviews. I like it.

Try out Crawl. It's a dungeon crawler where one person playes the explorer and the others (up to three) play the monsters. It's a fantastic game, but only has a local co-op.
