What's more interesting though is the people who were the least recognized. Brie Larson, comfortably below 50%? I get that her Marvel films flopped (I think?) but I thought she was a huge actress. Same goes for other performers in the vicinity of her standing.
I don't know about the latter but I think the game is pretty forgiving. It accepted my answers a couple of times as correct when I just entered the name of the person.

Oh no, I wouldn't be qualified to work there in any decision-making capacity. I was doing the quiz with friends and not the typer. I'd have to assume they might disqualify curse words? But yes, it...

But yes, it was somewhat arbitrary. Names are hard to spell, though. So much variation from dialect to dialect and even within dialects.
No I don't. I saw that too, I'm guessing someone is just manually looking through the results and adding common incorrect guesses that they think are close enough.

Overall, I got 38 out of 52, but 5 or 6 of the incorrect answers were basically correct. I had a few spelling errors that were just too much to overcome, and one of them I had to include two additional names just to see if they'd take it.
I was awful at this, about 20/52. I don't really consume much visual news media so while I knew recognized most of the names putting it to a face wasn't possible.

Be glad you didn't do the 2022 one. They had a lot of high society-types who were important in fashion or something like that but if you weren't a New York elite, you'd probably never heard of...

Similar situation here - 8 out of 52, better than <1% of Times readers. Not the most positive start to my day, but I suppose the only way is up from here!

I got exactly half (26/52), not great. I did get Ayo Edebiri, which was the least recognized, so I’m proud of that at least. I’ll never ace these so long as sports is relevant.

But I did not get most/all of these more recent actors and artists. I've heard of some of them, but I couldn't put a name to a face or vice versa.
I was solid on current events and politics. Some sports as well... but pop stars and actors? No chance. I don't have a clue, even if I had seen their movies. I'm really bad at remembering...

Heh, as a person outside of US I got like 6 or 7.
Pity there no 'I have no clue who is this' button.
One can just skip by clicking the arrow. :) I did....for most of them

It could be that her name is hard to spell or not conventionally remembered? Same with Margot Robbie. Maybe.

They really should accept his mom's nickname for him.
I encouraged "Fucker Carlson" as an answer, but was outvoted. He's truly loathed.

Yikes. Combination of living under a rock, not American, and prosopagnosia.

It's because the quiz is locked behind needing to create an account.

Thank you for this! :)
I don't have an account and was able to play. It may be because I have the Bypass Paywalls Clean extension (Firefox version, Chromium version).

I got 19, but realistically I knew 23 of them (missed a couple of letters or mis-spelled a few names too badly for it to count as correct).

13/52 for me, à surprisingly good result taking into account the amount of effort I put into watching sports/the news/popculture.
