Well, he could definitely play Old Man Bruce in a rendition of Batman Beyond that NEEDS to get made. It could be a continuance of the Burton Batmanverse and hit the sweet-spot between comic goofiness and gritty realism that Burton did so well. I really don't give a damn about superhero movies, but I'd watch the hell outta that.
heck yes! this would be PERFECT. We're in the same boat re: superhero movies. It feels like today there were four or so new Batman/Gotham properties announced or teased. It's a bit excessive.

He's signed on to appear in The Flash, as is Ben Affleck. Those might just be cameos but the reporting I have seen said that Keaton is set to have a "significant" part.

yeah, I saw that last night. That'll be so nice. Keaton is one of my favorites. I never really considered it, but when I think of movie-Batman, I think of Tim Burton and Keaton together.

From a high-budget film? Probably. BUT There's no clause saying fan films can't be made out of those ideas. I'm sure there's a well-equipped crew that's looking for something like that to handle....

I'd also like to see a more hipster-y Batman. I have a photograph by someone on deviantART way back when, that has a rather hipster-looking young-ish thin bearded guy smoking a cigar in front of a Batsignal. I figure that could be interesting to explore. Dunno how or in what direction, but the image was striking to me.
In this vein, I'm really surprised no one has yet tried a remake in the style of the original Adam West TV series, which was light-hearted comic fun for the kids, with a healthy dose of political...

Pattinson's done a lot of interesting character work and I had guessed that hiring him was a gesture toward wider audiences while one of the others could carry the torch for the crowd who wants to see people get punched to death in visceral combat in the name of a grim ideal like vengeance.. the teaser image with the batmobile in the yellow streetlamp reminded me of a noir, I wondered if batman might get to solve a mystery or something.
Little though we know about the film proper, it does appear there's light mystery in the film. Granted, it so far seemed to be meshed between violence and dramatic scenery, but maybe?

Yeah, there's nothing in the trailer that precludes the movie having a decent plot, I'm sure it'll be fine. I've never actually watched a Batman movie I didn't like - though I skipped the Affleck ones. Ironman 1 is a good time but Tony Stark is a very flippant character - I was thinking more like a serious and debonair, well-coiffed/cowled sort of Bruce, Private Eye By Night? This guy just seems angsty so far.
Comic-book Tony Stark is pretty much that. I was disappointed that they made him RDJ's version. It paid off eventually, starting with Iron Man 3, but I'm looking forward to seeing a serious Stark....

At least RDJ put thought into it and gave depth to Stark. You can see that his flippant façade is just that: underneath he's clearly struggling.
You can see a lot of Nolan's trilogy influence in this. They also seem to have taken some things from the Arkham series of games. The fact that his armor was able to withstand a close-range 9mm...

The fact that his armor was able to withstand a close-range 9mm while being thin and light is more of a classic take on things, but it feels modern, perhaps thanks to the design. That's what Affleck's armor was like, with the rest of the bulk coming from his body.
This may not bother many people but I freaking hate the voice acting in the other Batman's. When in disguise, Bruce Wayne speaks one octave lower than normal like teenagers trying to sound cool....

If you want Batman to sound cool, just give him a freaking voice modulator. That's an entirely reasonable piece of equipment for a multibillionaire that already went to the trouble of wearing a mask to hide his identity.
It doesn't look like the character is using a voice modulator. Pattinson speaks more normally, not even close to the unnatural growling of its predecessors.
And since we're talking dreams here, my Batman dream is an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller himself.
It was in Snyder's rendition of the character. You can see Alfred testing it out in a brief scene. Otherwise, it's usually either Bruce's natural low-tone voice full of confidence, or the actor...

I like campy Batman. He can do whatever voice he wants. Contemporary Batman is usually not campy. And they could keep the voice, I don’t care. Just give him a voice modulator so he doesn’t pout...

The mouse does not have paws; he wears fingered gloves. There are of course many new and creative films being made, but the conglomerated studios do feel especially bogged down at this stage, agreed.

This is just a trailer, but... seems to be taking itself way too seriously without having the style to really back it up. Almost looks like a fan mock-up of a David Fincher take on Batman.

Worst case scenario? You could do something like John Wick: it blends the 60s and modern really well.

I'm guessing you were hoping more Iron Man 1 Tony Stark-ish?
I just figured the point of having multiple concurrent batmen on the calendar meant they would try to differentiate the tone. The main antagonist is clearly The Riddler, so...
Oh dear Christ, it didn't even cross my mind that that was a nod! Good catch!
Little though we know about the film proper, it does appear there's light mystery in the film. Granted, it so far seemed to be meshed between violence and dramatic scenery, but maybe?

DC doing jokes never ends well...

I always thought that was the voice modulator.
It was in Snyder's rendition of the character. You can see Alfred testing it out in a brief scene.
Otherwise, it's usually either Bruce's natural low-tone voice full of confidence, or the actor trying hard to imitate that comic-book-y manner.
You can clearly see Christian Bale extending their lips and making contrived expressions to manually alter his voice.
I don't know if you're into campy/wacky stuff but Adam West in Batman '66 has the same peppy boy scout voice in and out of costume. It's actually an excellent series with consistent production value and tone.

The worst part about Bale is that is was also very nasal. The gravelly voice would have worked if it didn't sound like he had a cold the whole time.
This looks a lot cornier than I thought it would. Definitely deflated much of the anticipation I had for this movie.
Be like me, I have zero expectations for yet another superhero movie, so I'm never disappointed !

What other films follow the pattern?
Star Wars? At this stage it feels mostly like any property that The Mouse has its paws all over.
The mouse does not have paws; he wears fingered gloves.
