As a different take from most of the other top comments, I generally don’t go to YouTube for food education, or recipes. It is much easier for me to use and refer to text based recipes or instructions while I am actively cooking. Instead, my YouTube food videos tend to be entirely entertainment based, and if I see something worth trying, that’s an absolute bonus.

Dancing Bacons goes to a lot of unique and interesting street food vendors, unique restaurants and cook at home type foods. The creators partner (who my partner and I lovingly refer to as Mrs. Bacons) has an infectious smile and laugh, and we enjoy seeing them enjoy food.

Mythical Kitchen is the intersection of incredible food knowledge and absolute stupidity that’s infectious. Chef Josh has this unhinged chaotic ADHD energy that is endlessly entertaining to watch, and while they can do shitpost foods like a three course tasking menu out of Gatorade, you can also see that they actually do have a lot of knowledge, that they use to make the most ridiculous shit.

Imamu Room and Xiaoying Cuisine both fall under the kind of ASMR cooking that is really enjoying to watch while relaxing and not wanting to actually pay close attention to what is going on.

Did I mention that the last 30 minutes of the movie is in bad 3D with the blue and red glasses, and the characters diegetically tell you when to put them on?

I honestly might watch this movie just to see this because I cannot picture a way to frame this in which the scenario is not completely bonkers.

Look, Freddy's Dead is not a good movie. It is easily the worst Nightmare on Elm Street film (a series that I give credit for always trying something new, even if it doesn't do it well. With the exception of the remake, it is a series that always swung for the fences with some wild shit/aesthetic that really makes them feel fresh and worth watching in a way any of the bad Friday the 13ths or Halloweens don't.) and it makes no sense. Freddy is basically Bugs Bunny in it, and it is full of incredibly bad acting and ridiculous moments that don't come close to landing, and yet.

    And Yet.

It is one of the campiest horror movies I've ever seen. It feels like if you asked John Waters movie to make a sequel in a series he knew nothing about.

At one point, Freddy dresses up as the Wicked Witch of the West and flies around on a broom, and when I watch it I think, "Yes, this is what this monsterous child murderer would do, this makes perfect sense."

I find the NOES films some of the most rewatchable 80s slashers because they are all so interesting and different tonally, and this is the summation of that ethos. It is a horrible movie. Freddy Krueger gets a NES Power Glove at one point to murder a teenager. Its plot is paper thin and makes no sense if you give it even a second of consideration.

I will watch it gladly whenever I see it on TV.

Black Dynamite is a fantastic movie. Have you seen the animated sequel? The pimp council scene is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I just wanted to tell you that I love the 2016 Blair Witch movie. I'm spoilt though, I saw it as a free screening under the original name, and it was a packed room full of horror fans. The moment we realized what it was the theatre erupted. It was one of the best vibes i've ever had movie going.

The most they had against Obama is the birth certificate thing and that he wore a brown suit. I'd rather that be the most republicans can run around with.

These are the things that stick in public conciousness now (15 years later) but this is not representative of the controversy at the time. His frank admission of drug use in high school and college and the Jeremiah Wright controversy to name two more prominent ones.

Time has simply healed those wounds in a way that they've not yet done so for Hunter Biden.

While I agree, I just wish that democrats could foresee this kind of time wasting distraction by republicans and not put up candidates that have these kind of easily exploitable things associated with them.

This is a real minimization of the absolute damage classified documents could cause if they fall in the wrong hands.

At the very least, based on the indictment we know that Trump was showing maps and data on active military conflicts to multiple people without security clearance. That information can directly lead to the deaths of thousands in the wrong hands.

Based on everything that we know of trump he loves flattery and showing off. These documents are at the highest levels of classification. If they’re important enough to impress people, they’re important enough to be dangerous.

Bleem is an amazing storyteller. Pretty much every D20 season has its first episode on YouTube if you want a taste. Some of my favorites include :

    https://youtu.be/REnc_wXkHnc

A Crown of Candy is Game of Thrones meets Candyland.

    https://youtu.be/7GTogwQVmYE

Neverafter is deep horror based on classic fairy tales

    https://youtu.be/hMNzZiN0-P0

A Court of Fey and Flowers is regency era Fairy bullshit. Brennan is a player in this one, and a delight to watch.

    https://youtu.be/C1VffF1Z5-Y

Misfits and Magic is if four American teenagers were sent to Hogwarts and called out the ridiculousness of it.

    https://youtu.be/2Kktwa0kqaU

The Unsleeping City is an NYC based urban fantasy.

There are more, this is just a selection of my favorites.

Edit: I want to add that my favorite aspect of D20 is that the seasons are manageable (being maximum of 20 or so episodes) so it doesn’t feel like an insurmountable challenge like CR does.

The Internet was a better place when barrier to entry was a keyboard and a mouse and setting up a 56k connection

I want to point out that while in theory this sounds nice, in practice at that point in history the internet was ridiculously expensive for the average family/person and unobtainable. Part of the reason why there was so much “less” moderation at that point was because there were magnitudes less people on the internet.

Per this website, there were 4 billion people on the internet in 2020, and only 400 million in 2000. (FWIW, 1997 was when I first got in home internet that could be used on a regular basis, and there were only 120 million people with access. I was quite lucky.)

The halcyon days you are reaching for is one where only the absolute wealthiest and most privileged had constant access to the internet, and even then there was constant moderation, it was just far less obvious to you.

I don't think Reddit is under any obligation to cater to it's users. If they reopen all subreddits under new management they are well within their rights. What's on the site is theirs to do with as they please.

They are well within their right. However, the counterpoint to this is that then the users are also within their right to delete their content, get angry and leave. This is what happened with Digg and numerous other social media in the past.

The "direct user" form of money making that Reddit (and Twitter with Blue) are attempting right now is, to be blunt, doomed to failure. API access will never make a substantial amount of revenue for a social media company, because the users aren't supposed to be the customers, they're the product. A thriving ecosystem of happy users is the best thing a social media company can have to ensure profitability through advertising and other monetization means. So yes, they absolutely can go down this road, but the amount of goodwill and social capital it will burn from the users who bring the most content to their website (via the 1% rule) will do incredible harm to their company in the long term.
