Sarcasm aside, the situation is like this already since some years and the farthest you go from big cities, the exponentially worse it gets.
Problem is, there isn't really any meaningful talk about it in the media and there is a clear push to have it get worse so that at some point the motion to incentivize private healthcare actors will be well received.
Can't wait to see how deep this country can bury itself before, if even, something, anything, happens that will make the "lords" start pissing themselves and start considering that maybe they took it a step too far.

I can't believe that in 2024, nobody has yet figured out that if they start saying the plain truth is will have more effect on the masses.
The planet isn't dying.
We are. Because we are making it inhabitable for ourselves. The fact that we are bringing to the grave plenty other creatures with us, is not relevant to the majority of people.
But if you start saying "you will probably die of air/water pollution 20 years from now. The next generation will have an average lifespan of 30 years" and other things like that. You'll get much more response. Even if I made up these numbers.
Deniers make up bullshit every other day. It's time we simply do the same but for the greater good.
I know, it sucks. But when you have to reason with dumb, you have to speak dumb.

I'm not a software engineer working in the gaming industry but one with over 20 years of experience working in enterprise environments with, at this point, nearly 30 years of being extremely passionate about games and game development in all its aspects.
A place in which we could share articles, videos and discussions about everything that happens "under the hood" and "behind the scenes" in the gaming industry would be very much appreciated.

That sounds terrible design in a ttrpg to be honest.
What would happen if one of the team members dies and not the others... how visually the "possessions" including xp are represented and why the rest of the team cannot take them with them back to the bonfire? I am seeing so many "immersion breaking" aspects here that I am not even wanting to think of the rest of complications.

Italy have the strictest protocols for health and safety of imported products. The safety concern simply doesn't exists.
For the specific heritage, we already have some food and products that are DOC or DOP, you could simply extend it to some animals, enough to keep the heritage alive (and also could substantially raise the price for those protected meats) while allowing the vast majority of the population to have affordable meat.
The same stage have been adopted for insect based food not too long ago.
When you have conservative fascists in power in 2023, this is the outcome you have to expect in terms of decisions.

I totally understand your response and the tiredness because I experience that as well and are in the middle of a toxic relationship that I am enduring only because I cannot "take away" the child and don't want to just leave free reins to my partner.
It's tiring because no one I would try and complain, would understand the struggle of trying to be a good father despite the society seeing you as a bad one by default.
Every good thing you do is not seen and every little slip is seen under a magnifying glass it seems.
BUT, tildes is publicly readable, and having these sort of open letters searchable and indexed online, will help others understand that they are not alone, even if this doesn't solve this problem, it would help someone feel less alone in a similar situation.

The only reason I myself still use a Windows machine is because of games. Thanks heavens Proton is moving things, hopefully, soon (years) I'll be able to just drop windows entirely.

We have one if the most strict regulations in terms of food safety. I've seen the number of alerts that come through (most from Chinese imports, sorry to confirm the stereotype) but that never made me as fearful as the person writing that article, on the contrary, it made me confident that it would be very hard for something bad to end up in my fridge.
Your mileage may vary in other countries so, the best thing you can do is do your research on how your country is determining what's safe and what's not.
That article feel like the personal vent of a germophobe, sorry

For my first project in the current company, the was the need for an on-call rotation.
Management said they were organising it but if the first couple of weeks someone from the project could cover for it.
I did one week.
One week in which:
- I couldn't go to the park with the kids at any time
- I could not go out to dine with my partner
- I could not take a walk for more than 10 minutes from my house (20 minutes to respond to the higher severity alerts)
And so on. Everything for something like 200£ extra.
When the proper on-rota was established we were asked if we wanted to be part of it and I explained that that amount was barely enough to justify being on call for one day. Certainly not a week.
The manager told me "ah, but most of the time nothing happens".
I answered: "Yeah, that's even worse."

From absurd level of micromanaging to vague and volatile requests without any respect for what the planned release was (and I'm not talking about bugs or issues).
It reached a point in which, in the internal quarterly feedback, the overwhelming majority of suggestions were "please offer the clients to teach them how to manage a tech company". I've literally asked to be removed from my last project because I couldn't bear to deal with the clients' management and how they were being bamboozled by other consultants they hired to "replace us because we were not working towards the goal". The goal is still a mystery to this day.
I can assure you, every project I joined, the people on our teams are always eager to just do something of good quality and deliver in time and mathemagically the clients' management have some moron in key position that just want to show that we are there to sabotage their company, apparently.
I couldn't give a shit about your company pal (not you specifically OBLIVIATER :P), the company I work for don't give a shit as well, we offer vastly different product and if you are successful it's good for us because of reputation and potential follow-up business.
It takes a special kind of idiots to think a consultant firm is there to damage you.
A clarification, we provide teams of people, usually a single manager to act as contact point, 1–2 architects depending on the task, and several engineers of different specialization according to needs (security, platform, engineering, QA, etc). We are not that kind of consultancy firm that submerge you with management and meetings. In fact, if a meeting exceed 30 minutes, it must be for something really fucked up that happened.

It was the save before the last mission so money wasn't a problem and the talent point weren't as well.
Honestly I don't feel the appeal. I jumped around a bit, didn't want to start a mess, the world still felt shallow like a nice cardboard background... and that's it.
I should play a new playthrough probably but knowing that the origin doesn't change anything and that I already tested all ending back then, really takes any interest out of me.
It doesn't help that this supposedly patch that make the game "as it should have been" just remind me of how badly they lied with that damn 40 minute videos (we still don't have that hacking shown there, that was so cool, just "quickhacks" as in witchers signs).
Also I wasn't remembering a slight but annoying mouse inertia. I checked the options but have seen no way to disable it.
I'll probably try again in the next few days but I have no interest really.
It's worth playing through once anyway, so whoever waited 3 years ago will definitely have a good time today.

Too many comments already to double check but if you like the combine two sticks approach, you should give a try to Vintage Story.
It started as a mod for minecraft but it's not a fully fledged independent game. Plenty of mods as well and, imho, it's what Minecraft could have been if they didn't decide to go for the viral mainstream route.
Things take time and are very deep in how they work. There is an in game manual that helps you in every aspect of the game as well as an optional tutorial you can start.
It's become my go to relaxing game. Just start a world with relaxed settings as much as you like and enjoy.
Cheers
