    Saw this yesterday and felt it was a bit disingenuous. They kept comparing tennis pros to pro athletes in team sports. Yet, the most apt comparison would be golf pros. Guess what? Same outcomes!...

    Saw this yesterday and felt it was a bit disingenuous. They kept comparing tennis pros to pro athletes in team sports. Yet, the most apt comparison would be golf pros. Guess what? Same outcomes! The 200th ranked PGA tour golf pro in 2022 made about $220,000. After paying his caddie, coach, travel for him, his caddie and other expenses, I'd be shocked if he kept any money. Probably lost money. Very, very good golfers can't make much money unless they are in the top 100 or so either. The $10M earned by the top tennis pro would have placed him at about 6th in the 2022 golf rankings. So, similar.

    Climb into the death zone, guess what happens? I have a hard time generating admiration, or sympathy, for events that happen in the death zone. Is there a dynamic where rich foreign tourists take advantage of local Nepalese guides? Undoubtedly. But, DEATH ZONE. Don't the words "death zone" translate into Nepalese? FAFO. I'm sticking to my recliner situated about 8,000 meters below the death zone.

    Follow-up for any future reference. I did get RIF working using my reddit account. I had to change three things about my approach. Upgrade ReVanced to version 1.6 Delete RIF from my phone and...

    Follow-up for any future reference. I did get RIF working using my reddit account. I had to change three things about my approach.

    1. Upgrade ReVanced to version 1.6
    2. Delete RIF from my phone and download the RIF APK
    3. THEN patch and install RIF

    Can I recommend r/digitalnomad over on that "other" website. Tons of folks discussing this very topic. It really does boil down to available visas.

    I (US citizen) hope to retire overseas to a LCOL country in the next few years. Many countries offer "no work permanent resident" visas for retirees that can demonstrate a self sufficient financial position.

    The root problem is the money (scholarships) in sports. Families invest a ton of time and money in the hope that little Jackie and Janie can win a full ride athletic scholarship. Title IX has been pretty effective at ensuring that as many women as men get scholarships. Men choosing to play women's sports threatens that balance. Ideally, we'd remove college athletic scholarships to eliminate that incentive. Then who wants to play on what team would carry a lot less repercussions. However, there's too much money in college sports for that to ever be a viable solution. So, morals aside, how do you ensure equitable access to college athletic scholarships by gender under Title IX, while recognizing a person's gender identity?
