I guess the proper term would be rugs now that I think about it. A really big rug.

My parents have a few carpets and over the years I've helped them with "washing" which would mean removing them and taking them to a cleaning service. Hardest parts was lifting all the furniture to remove the carpets.

On the topic of "words that don't exist", every time German is brought up (or any other language where you just mash words together to get a new one) I kinda roll my eyes. Sure, it's ot one word in English, but that's mainly because of the way the language works.

Often I would want to browse Tildes but I'm just not used to a Web browser being the thing I use for browsing a "news aggregator" on my phone - I always use a dedicated app. However I fully agree that the UI of the site is perfectly usable on mobile (of course there is place for improvement, but there would always be), so really what I personally need is just a different icon, that's dedicated to Tildes on my phone and a PWA would be able to do that.
Thay being said I would instantly install the alpha as soon as I know it's here. I've been a RIF user since I've had a phone that can install it.

I still do occasionally read some news, but it's more like following a topic or finding more information about something that I already know about.

Specifically for the tag system I remember being in awe at both its ease of use and how comprehensive it was. I felt like the tag system made voice comes pretty much obsolete, but it did take a lot of getting used to. They did a very good job with the way you can communicate with your teammates.

I understand that there would be people still choosing to use it, but having that and matchmaking would greatly reduce the number, naturally. Thinking about it, I'm not sure there's a game that has nothing, it's either or. It would also depend on the genre I guess - if it's a game that has short matches then people wouldn't want to wait e.g. 30min to play a 15min match.

As the games industry continues to grow there are many new things introduced which sometimes players don't like, but then overtime we either get used to them, while still disliking them (only a bit less maybe) or we realize "hmm, yes it's good to have this actually". Of course any such mechanic can be implemented very well or quite poorly. I'm not asking about specific implementations, but the mechanic itself as a whole.
Personally I can think of some quality of life changes that at first I thought are not needed or would make a game needlessly easier. When playing I would always try to go for full immersion, but overtime as I've had less and less time to be able to play in long uninterrupted stretches I've come to appreciate things like fast travel and quest markers and other features which would help resuce "wasted" time when playing.

There is a "flow" feature which let's you choose a general mood and it plays songs based on that and your listening habits and I've been using it extensively - sometimes it gets too "general", but skipping the songs you don't like "trains" the algorithm well enough imo

w.r.t. the subreddits which are gone... Honestly I'll mostly miss the apps, not any one specific subreddit, although I've already experienced what you say when searching for something and the answers are on subs that went private.

What really surprised me about the itrion was that I've actually eaten it. I'm from Bulgaria which is Greece's neighbor and we have these sold as snacks in stores, they're known as сусамка (susamkа) - сусам just means sesame. The guy does mention that they are still eaten in modern day Greece, I was just surprised as soon as he mentioned it's sweet and I realized what it is.
If you like Ajvar you should see if you can find Ljutenica, it's from Bulgaria and it's similar.
