Screenshots!
Only one link this week, but it is an album! since I have added to functionality to my self hosted image share.
The past week I have been experimenting with various shaders and resource packs. So I have tried to go for a lot of nice shots of various buildings and sceneries.
Edit: Forgot to ping some people as their things are featured @secret_online I love the trader/oriental build style you have going this season, @hamstergeddon both your town build as well as your island, @GravySleeve giant ufo, @Noox Foxes! Also monkey and panda, @TaylorSwiftsPickles Niech żyje Polska!, @Jambo I believe the fantasy tower is yours?, @Evie got some nice shots of the platform, @IsildursBane community storage makes several appearances.
Seeing my island through the gate makes me so happy every time I see it. I didn't plan that great view at all, it just came together by chance. I need to get some screenshots of the the surface of the island soon. The kids and I have been building their houses. Mine is still made of dirt, however (Long live the Empire of Dirt).
Really nice photos this week Creesch! (And I'm not just saying that cause my builds were featured 3x :p)
That is indeed my (hollow, unfinished) tower :) I haven't been able to play pretty much at all this week, and with PoE coming out next week I'm not sure how much time I'll have to try to split between both games but I do intend to come back to finish what I started at some point, it may just be a couple weeks out :)
I'll be hosting a PVP event on March 14th, 2pm EST - Same time as the dragon raid event
All skill levels welcome, gear for the first few games will be provided so all ya gotta do is show up!
More details will be posted closer to the event
I'll be travelling unfortunately, otherwise I would sign up to be the community goodie bag 0v0
Ooh, exciting! I haven't been on much recently but if I can help you with any prep just lmk
I haven't been on much the last few days, started watching the show Silo and got hooked. I'll be back on more often in the next few days once I finish season 2.
We had a big snow storm, lost power for 4 days, then I spend 2 days trying to get our house power working again. So life has just been lifing. Hopefully I'll be back on regularly soon.
I’m chugging along on my underwater base.
I put some tridents in the box in town that was holding bonus elytra. Next time I have more I can restock if we are out.
And can I just say how amazing our nether hub is!!! It looks so great
I appreciate the shoutout! I haven't been able to get a ton of play-time in recently. But hopefully I'll get back online more soon and get to work on it some more.
So I have made great progress on the appearance of community storage this week. I have done the rough pass of terraforming between storage and town. I still need to do some work on the cliff and also add in vegetation, but overall pleased with how it looks. I also added in the basic roof, although I still need to experiment with dormer windows. I am now focusing on trying to tidy up the interior of storage.
@creesch I have a potential area for a water elevator or staircase to a basement transit stop. If you want to implement that, I can get that set up for you, but if not no worries
@GravySleeve I took your great suggestion and have added a bell that rings when the chunk loaders become active. I also made it slightly more responsive by switching from a redstone torch tower from the chunk loaders to pistons with slime pushing redstone blocks.
@Noox I have started work on the terraforming south of the road, which is the part of the moonlight forest that I associate as your claimed land. The goal is to just smooth out the hill right off the road, so to have a smoother transition. This will involve cutting down some of the natural trees, but I do plan on rebuilding them and returning the land to looking like natural terrain gen. Also, this flattening work will probably end up providing you some more usable land for when you start your build in this area
Thanks for letting me know!! The colours etc. should remain moonlit forest anyway, so no worries on getting some stuff out of the way, we can always regrow it (and remake the natural trees!)
It was a lot quicker getting the rough terrain in then I expected. So all the terrain is roughly where I want it. The next step is to do more detailed work on the terrain before adding back in the undergrowth and trees. Overall, I feel like it is pretty natural looking terrain so once the trees are added it should blend in nicely
@creesch I have moved the piston slime tower over due to it being in the way for the water elevators I was working on to get to the upper stories of the build. This also means that the piston elevator is out of your way for the transit stop. Now, at the y-level I built the elevators to, there should be no redstone in the way except to the north of those water elevators. If you raise the ceiling any further, you may run into the redstone for the input system, so if you need more room height it might be best to dig further down than up
I have noticed recently that lighting strikes can spread fire with our current server config. I know last season we disabled this as there were issues with damage not being noticed until after the data was lost to core protect. Is this something that should change?
Okay I disabled it.
Cool to see the progress everyone's making! I haven't been able to join in over a week due to personal travel + work just tiring me out. I promise I'll be on again at some point!
I've been busy working in creative the last few days on the next building for my city. I'm building a giant rocket factory. Hopefully I'll have it done in the next couple nights so I can finalize the schematic and bring it onto the server. It's going to produce full shulkers of lvl3 rockets just like last season.
@secret_online, I've returned your loaner elytra, and since I hadn't caught you on in in a bit, I put it in your base's item storage for the golems to sort. Thanks again for the lend!
I almost lost the community Elytra yesterday, so I realized I need to explore the End to get my own. Which direction might give me the best luck, i.e. which directions have already been explored/looted?
Edit: I've gone NNW, and have found a few. I'm planning on picking up a few more and bring them to town.
I made two new community elytra - use one of those in your quest.Last time I went out, I explored the edges of the end from mid-east along the north to mid-west. If you check the southern edge, you'll likely find something.ETA: oh, almost lost. Directions suggestion stands. I am also a champ of losing elytra.
@Mendanbar, I think I just cleared the last of the ruins from your ancient city, so you're good to go.
Thanks so much! It looks great. I can finally think about the actual city layout and planning. 😬
