Let's give some love to indies! What's your favourite indie game?
Personally, my favourite indie recently has been Katana Zero, the action in that game is so fluid and fun.

Recently, DUSK. It's a little bit Quake and a little bit Blood and I loved it. It's ugly in all the right ways, fast, and fun.
If we're talking about classics, I'm fairly split between Bastion and Fez. Bastion is just a complete package of a beautiful looking and sounding game with a fun action game, but Fez had all the mysteries. It's a damn shame we'll never get a Fez 2.
I have over 600 hours in Factorio, it is indeed like crack. I've managed to launch a satellite only twice. Both times I had to force myself to focus and work toward that, instead of just building and rebuilding more robust supply chains and assembler chains.
The Factory Must Grow
And then trains! And logistics robots networks! And nuclear power!
I still haven't mastered logic circuits, I've seen people do crazy stuff with them.
I mostly use logic circuits together with power switches to limit production of things; more than 5000 science packs in the chest? turn off power. Yes it'll flip back on back and forth but considering there's like 16 assemblers on the line it requires 16 packs to be consumed for it to turn on again, so it's not too bad.
Same for oil, and especially for oil actually; considering there's not one path from crude to end product I limit production of things and set priorities using circuits. Heavy oil: if there's more than 25k lube and less than 10k light oil, redirect it to the crackers, otherwise if there's more than 10k light oil, redirect it to flamethrower fuel and solid fuel.
If anyone has any other couch co-op games that they enjoy, let me know! I'm always looking for new ones to play with my girlfriend, or put on as a small distraction at a party :)
I found this a bit confusingly worded. I'd like to clarify that it doesn't have upgrades where you just get bigger and better; you can purchase items or spells and replace the ones you had equipped. I am not aware of that are just better stats than others (although obviously some are stronger/weaker in general), so you don't really have to grind unless you want a specific build.
But what about Air Burst?
The Air Burst dash is useless by itself as other dashes do the same with extra effects. However, its enhanced version has no cooldown, and enhanced arcana have a higher chance of appearing in the shop when you start with them (or maybe just have them equipped) as far as I know.Wizard of Legend is one of my favorite
indiegames as well :)Creeper world: A series of interesting rts / tower defense games where the enemy is liquid oozing off generators at different speeds. You have to build a base capable of fighting back the the liquid and push towards the generators. The first one i think is a free flash game. The third one is a refinement of the first and is great. There is a sequel in development that has 3d graphics.
Factorio: It is an engineering sandbox where you create assembly lines. It is a game i love playing more than i actually like as a game, it is often been compared to drugs. An early access game that has been fully playable for years but the dev team keeps making better. Lots of mods too.
Fight n Rage: I dismissed this one at first because it looked like nostalgiaware, but it is a very sound beat em up with a very satisfying combo system. To me this one and Streets of Rage Remake are the actual Streets of Rage 4.
Crosscode: I have talked about it in the "what are you playing" threads. I'm only halfway through but I'm loving it so far. It's an action rpg with twin stick combat and lots of puzzles. You are a player in a futuristic MMO so everything is very rpg-ish and mostly light hearted. I used to play lots or jrpgs when I was a kid and I'm very glad there are indie studios exploring this space.
Stardew Valley: A love letter to older Harvest Moon games. My only issue with this one is that I keep trying to do as much as possible every day and burn out. But it is otherwise a wonderful game to just explore and interact with the world.
I never finished Thomas was alone, but I played through a decent chunk of it on my phone. It was a good puzzle game, but the narrator was probably the best part! Kinda like The Stanley Parable.
Right now it's Slay the Spire. It's basically a Hearthstone roguelike deck-builder (think HS arena on FTL style map). Except it's single player, no microtransactions.
There are multiple classes with multiple "archetypes" and good amount of variety every run. Higly recommend.
Champions of Regnum is my indie pick. It's the largest indie mmo in the spanish/portugese speaking world. It's a specialist open RvR pvp mmorpg, and has a really active warzone with regular 50v50v50+ battles. It's F2P, it's hard to go past its value given other RvR titles cost real money up front. You can also go max level right at the start and join in a new RvR area.
Going through my list of games that I recommend. I have so many indie games to recommend that I won't bother giving a brief description.
I recently started playing One Step From Eden. It's a super fast paced rogue-like with some strong Mega Man Battle Network influences. I played it and got instantly hooked. There are a bunch of different characters with different abilities and additional challenges so there's a very solid amount of replayability
140 and THOTH are some great minimalist indie works! I recommend 140 for its incredible integration of gameplay and soundtrack, and THOTH if you want a tough minimalist twin-stick shooter.
One indie IP I always love to recommend is sunless sea or fallen london. They are both games that kinda play out like digital choose-your-own-adventure books. Both play in an alternate universe victorian-era london that fell into a gigantic cave, with lots of humorous writing and eldritch horrors.
