A mentor and friend of mine has lost his eyesight. I would like to share some music and musicians with him that he might enjoy listening to and help him fight boredom/ find comfort.

I know he likes jazz. I know he likes classical, but he is familiar with all of the obvious suggestions. He formed his musical taste before metal or rap/hiphop were popular. Melodic songs would be welcome.

I'm hoping that some people here can share tracks/records/musicians that he might not have found while he was busy with his career and not actively exploring music.

I’m sure most people know of the common examples (“Hold me closer, Tony Danza”), but I’m interested in lyrics that you or someone you know has gotten wrong in the songs you regularly listen to.

Also, I’m interested in the story of how you found out it was a misheard lyric.

• How long had you heard the wrong thing?
• How did you find out the what the actual line was supposed to be?
• Was there a dawning realization or comedy wrapped up in it?
• Do you still sing it your way in spite of the actual lyrics?
• Is the song actually improved by your lyric swap?

A "one hit wonder" is a musical artist or band known primarily for one breakout song. While some one-hit wonders stay that way because they put out very little music, others have had surprisingly full careers. (Did you know that Los del Río of "Macarena" fame have put out more than TWENTY albums over the course of SIX DECADES?)

Who is a one-hit wonder that you feel deserves to be known for more than just their "one hit?" What makes their other music worth exploring?
