On my end and to fight back, I've started using April 1st as my go-to date to create things and start huge projects. In that spirit, today is the official opening date of my girlfriend's ceramics workshop, which we've been working on for months! :)

I don't disagree. Mean spirited shenanigans are cruel and not cool. My impression of the general consensus was that the pandemic led to people not reacting well the last several years. Given that the demographics of the internet that would consider participating skew strongly towards the US and that the US seems to have largely decided that if we close our eyes it can't hurt us, it doesn't surprise me that April Fools is coming back to some degree.
I posted the link that I did because I thought it was an exceptional example and because I'm adjacent enough to the industry side of game design that I wasn't entirely convinced that it wasn't nonsense for an embarrassingly long time. (Seriously, the combination of "I may not be the audience for this video" and "huh, I guess that's a new piece of jargon for me. I wonder how it's used" is insidious)
