    Day has been pretty good! Spent the day out with the boyfriend and we just went to the park and just walked and explored a little. It was fun!

    You could try picking up running during your summer break! During school I find it hard to find time to run. I finished Week 5 Day 2 today, run for 8 minutes, walk for 5, and then run for 8 again....

    I finished Week 5 Day 2 today, run for 8 minutes, walk for 5, and then run for 8 again. The next run is a just a straight run for 20 minutes, hopefully it doesn't kill me lol.

    Kanji are pretty interesting, it's extremely painstaking to try and learn all of the ones to make you able to read proficiently though.

    I've been trying to run every other day doing the Couch to 5K plan, I've been enjoying it so far.

    I've been trying to learn Japanese for about 5 years now, primarily because I love Japanese culture. Most of my knowledge comes from classes I've taken, sometimes if I'm feeling motivated enough...

    I've been trying to learn Japanese for about 5 years now, primarily because I love Japanese culture. Most of my knowledge comes from classes I've taken, sometimes if I'm feeling motivated enough I'll try and learn on my own using memrise or the Genki textbooks. I also listen to Japanese songs sometimes to try and help my comprehension.

    Haven't been doing all too much recently. I've decided to try and learn Python and hopefully get some degree of proficiency in it over the next few weeks/months. Been playing some games and...

    Thanks, it means a lot. I'm in university, I finished my first year and now I'm off for the whole summer with nothing to do. It gets rather lonely. I didn't make any friends during term time....

    I'm in university, I finished my first year and now I'm off for the whole summer with nothing to do. It gets rather lonely. I didn't make any friends during term time. Currently I'm in my boyfriend's country where the only person I know is him so at the moment it's a little hard to really make friends.

    I like playing games, and I like learning languages and I also like to do programming. I've been thinking about trying to learn Python, could really help me out in the future or something. I just hope I can get myself out of this rut before it's too late.

    I don't think I have any mental illnesses (I know I've definitely struggled with it in the past), but I'm not doing too great in myself these days. I get really emotional very easily and stuff...

    I get really emotional very easily and stuff from the past always comes back to bite me no matter what. I also feel like I have a lot of potential, but I end up wasting it all because I never know what to do with myself whenever I have free time (normally I just browse reddit, I wanna do something productive but I never know what). I don't exactly know what I want out of life and it's scary. I'm also terrible at making friends so I feel excrutiatingly lonely a lot of the time and I'm really bad at keeping in touch with people. I also struggle to trust and get close to people so I don't ever really open up to anyone except for my boyfriend (who is the only person I actually talk to on a regular basis) and I hate that he has to deal with me and my stupid shit all the time.

    Gah, I hate myself and I can't get out of it.

    Adding to this guy's comment: I think unless you're a big enough community, having a Discord chat could be a bad idea and as Pbuddy says, it can detract from the actual forum itself. Plus some people prefer the structure of a forum like this to an IM chat and there are certainly users such as myself who find it difficult to jump into an IM group chat. If there's not enough people on the forum, then the users that don't like IM won't stick around for very long and it'll kill the community.

    I'm not opposed to the concept of changing ones name at all. Sometimes it's a little weird to get used to when you've known someone for a while and they change their name, but I always do my best to refer to someone as to how they want to be called.

It's amazing how this one thing can bring the whole world together to collaborate.
