Just join us to have fun. @chocobean, @maro_mich, and others joined us with 0 background knowledge of minecraft mechanics and had a lot of fun. bootz (sorry, forgot how your username is spelled)'s house is a tiny stone hut but he is the one who built the majority of our farms. 2+ of our users were cave goblins who almost never left the underground. And so on. Hell, if you think about it, almost my entire base is a bunch of flat, rectangular buildings with windows; everything minecraft builders would advise you not to do. I'm not even close to as good of builder as @Evie, @GravySleeve, @IsildursBane, @mintysaurus, etc. And in fact, last season I lowkey built nothing except for a shitty hut, an ice tunnel, and a giant statue of myself.
    It doesn't matter how good you are, just join and have funsies. Last season, in this server, I met the person that later became (and of course still is) my best friend!

    As a bonus, you get to hear my extremely inappropriate jokes on the regular, too

    Several months ago, I put a reminder in my calendar for a "mid-season restart event" in late June. The "plot" is that there's, say, a command block at spawn that teleports you to the one of the uninhabited corners of the map (say, the southeast one). If you want to participate, you leave all your tools/blocks/etc at home and click the button at or after a specific time. There, people can have a "first month of the season" experience again, starting from scratch and creating a mini "tildetown 2", doing anything they want without using their "past life's" items until the event ends after, say, 1 week. However, I never got to organise it (both because I didn't have the mental capacity at the time, and because organising events for real people is very stressful to me)

At this point I'm semi-considering just giving up on this entirely, or speedrunning finishing it in a singleplayer world using worldedit.

However, as I recall, @creesch had access to some other way to produce those kinds of "floating labels".

    Seeing as @creesch is mostly offline, could we either extend that permission (which is currently OP-exclusive) to all authenticated players, or at least 1 trustworthy active player of your choice?

    Both Gravy and I will need a significant amount of them in our bases

    Myself, I see a wilted rose bush alongside wilted flowers of the daisy family, over a large body of water containing (and surrounded by) various creatures, including, among others, an octopus, a duckling, and a poodle dog. Like you, I do see some negativity portrayed in it, but I'm seeing it more as a post-apocalyptic painting (perhaps due to climate change) rather than gore
