    We (Europeans) should have done this long ago, really, and there's plenty of legitimate reasons why. Even if the US remained a "trustworthy" ally, us outsourcing our own countries' security to an...

    Yes, but the whole reason why European countries feel the need to dramatically increase military spending, increase their domestic stockpiles, and rearm themselves is because they've lost faith in the US as an ally.

    We (Europeans) should have done this long ago, really, and there's plenty of legitimate reasons why. Even if the US remained a "trustworthy" ally, us outsourcing our own countries' security to an external partner over all those years makes no real sense, all things considered.
