To be clear, I'm a native Texan. But I'm tired of the goings-on of the county that I've always lived in. I feel like I've already done everything there is to do. I want to meet people that feel genuinely 'new' to me and have as many novel experiences as I can in a short period of time.
I'm planning on moving during January since that's when my lease is up at my apartment. What things should I expect? What should I seek?

I broke my slingshot but I used to be into backyard archery in my teen years. I'd love to join a local archery club when I've earned the free time.

When I'm driving, I like to imagine that the other driver is just late to something important (even needing to poop) and give them the space to pass me up or whatever.

So, here's the deal. I'm being gifted a free trip sometime next month. The destination is basically anywhere that I pick. I've been considering Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska, but I also would like to see the redwoods; there's some magical allure to them.
Anyway, I'm experiencing option paralysis, convince me to pick the redwoods. Or if you have any stories or know about any other amazing places in the U.S. please tell me. This feels like a once in a lifetime type of thing considering that I'm not a well-traveled person (in my opinion) and haven't left my home state in years. For context I'm a nature boy but I also like the ability to just walk into niche shops and find random curios.

This thread is for organizing a group to play Scythe online. Everyone mentioned has either been in my specific thread about Scythe months ago or mentioned it elsewhere. I FINALLY got around to getting the Steam version in addition to the Invaders from Afar dlc since it was a bundle.
I'd love to get a Discord group started so we can all finally play together and ultimately shoot the shit and have some fun.
Also I couldn't figure out how private messaging works which is embarrassing but this is way easier, anyway.
If this gets enough traction in the next couple of days I'll make us a discord group and we can go from there as far as scheduling goes. I'd also be open to other games if the group wants to do so. 🤘

I've been wearing the Baltic Aquascaphe Classic Black Cream for over two years now. I originally couldn't afford to order it with the beads-of-rice bracelet, so I just opted for the silicone/rubber tropic strap (which started to fall apart after about a year and a half, despite me occasionally swapping it out with NATO straps).
I ordered the 'official' branded bracelet from Baltic on the two year anniversary of me receiving the watch (I'm sentimental) and love it. During the warmer months I prefer my mustard-yellow or sky-blue NATO.

Yes! I came here just to say Jonathan Livingston Seagull because I just finished it two days ago. Part four of the book felt tonally different from the first three but I still got something out of jt.

Oh man I was heavily invested in Scott Manley's Kerbal Space Program videos for a solid two years. Something about hearing someone who actually understands orbital mechanics talk about the subject while playing a quirky (and sometimes broken) simulation game is very satisfying to me.

Edit: I don't think anybody has mentioned Horror Stories
Really neat content about horrible accidents, mass slayings, and the occasional inhumane medical experiment. What I enjoy most is his presentation style, it feels very neat and well-researched. It's my favorite YouTube rabbit-hole but he posts very infrequently.

Congrats on the double milestones! I know that can feel incredible. If your schedule and area allow it, consider joining a 24 hour gym. I personally don't like working out around a bunch of people unless I'm with a friend, even then I'm not a fan. But that 3AM workout when nobody else is around and it's just you and the mirror?chef's kiss
Also it might be valuable to you to find a sport that you know you could be passionate about. For me it was rock climbing (my city has a few indoor gyms that are quite good)
Edit: the increased day-to-day sense of energy WILL increase, I promise.

    Scythe

Very cool 1920's-ish alternate history resource gathering/territory expansion game with different factions that have different bonuses regarding both mech and hero character mobility. There are a few ways to collect/move resources and there are combat elements as well. For me the most fun way to win is through intimidation tactics since the game has a combat element. The best way to win is to 'pick six things to be good at', which is faction dependent assuming you want to play that way. I made a thread about it a couple months ago here: hot singles in your area lol

    Fallout: New Vegas

I just finished a playthrough of the base game (after a decade of never touching it) before I learned that my friend had access to all of the DLC content, which I had never seen before. So I started a new playthrough and raced to level 15 before starting Old World Blues, which is what I'm currently on. I've always done high sneak/guns/lockpick builds but this time I'm prioritizing energy weapons (already at 100), science, explosives and medicine, which has been a nice change of pace. There is not a problem that spamming 40mm grenades cannot solve.
I know I'll want to do another playthrough after this one so I was considering doing a beefy melee build just because I would find it consistently funny to smash ghouls with rebar clubs.

FMR Magazine Vol. 5 (Oct. 1984) has a neat section pertaining to the Ottomans. It's especially cool if you're interested in art history. Recently found it at a bookstore that I am gatekeeping >:)
