I can't tell if the linked essay is serious or satire, and it's hilarious because of it. I get my potato wedges from Publix now. (KFC is on my shitlist.)
I was going to say I see them at grocery stores all the time. Target has them as well. Wendy’s introduced a breakfast potato that’s pretty similar as well.

I'm not sure if this is a thing outside of the Southern US, but lots of gas stations down there sell food. If you ever see one with jojos, those are pretty close alternative.
I think there used to be a meal at the combo KFC/Taco Bells that was like two tacos, two chicken strips, and those wedges. Somehow the whole mess worked great for a kid like me.

The secret when home cooking them is to parcook them in boiling water before either frying or baking them. They should basically be fully cooked or nearly there by the time you finish them off. In an industrial kitchen setting, you can often get away with just deep frying them because your fryer is massive and has an insane amount of heat stored in there (whereas the oil in a pan will quickly drop in temperature when you put the wedges in).

Personally I would ask them to bring back the kfc chicken that I ate with my grandma in the 70’s. It was so tasty. Now umm bring back the wedges, it may make the chicken taste better.

Personally, I think it's a missed opportunity to not call them wedgies.

I have a dream that one day a whole generation of kids will grow up without KFC. It's on my shit list, too, because it's just bad food.
I was going to say I see them at grocery stores all the time. Target has them as well. Wendy’s introduced a breakfast potato that’s pretty similar as well.
Publix makes some great food but the family estate that owns most of the shares were caught funding Jan 6 shenanigans so that put an end to it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tylerroush/2022/12/22/publix-heiress-julie-fancelli-offered-3-million-to-fund-jan-6-rally-house-documents-show/

Parcook, yes, plain water, no. You should season the cooking liquid so the inside of the finished product also has flavor.
Can we add a rider to bring back the Mexi-nuggets at Taco Bell? I miss my terrible for you delicious potatoes from my childhood.
Weird, maybe wedges are an American thing. KFC don’t have them here where I am in Canada anyway.

I'm a little confused why people who wouldn't make their own potato wedges would rather organize a petition to a corpo to do it.
I rather them bring back Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The state of KY was stupid.

Their mash potatos with gravy, corn, and popcorn chicken, too, is the bomb 🤤
