The server operates on a soft whitelist. Anyone can log in and walk around, but you need a Tildes account to gain build access.
@mendanbar, I did end up renovating the tower slightly. The top part now features different details and lights. Also it looks like something is going on inside the tower....
Some impressions
To everyone who uses DH and Iris, do not update them right now. See this comment thread in the previous post.
Some other random things:
It's an incinerator design I used in my house last server, it won't destroy anything until you press a button. I intentionally left the redstone exposed so it can be copied to other places it could be useful.
Edit: I could build one in the community storage building to get rid of junk in the overflow chests.
The Perpetual Self-Fueling Super-Smelter is (technically) done! I wasn't able to finish the README, and I'm out of town until next Wednesday, but I wanted to let people know that it's usable.
Currently, there is no kelp farm attached, so no more fuel is being added atm. However, there should be enough fuel already in the system to smelt about a full double chest of items. Please use it, and report any bugs!
I'll start on the kelp farm next week, probably based on Mumbo's Season 7 kelp farm.
Nice! :) I'll throw in some stuff for testing purposes later today.
I've gotten a bit more work done on my volcano base. I have a lava room at the top for my nether roof portal, and I created a somewhat morbid guidestone path using flaming armor stands hanging from chains (a couple are missing limbs). I have also started texturing the outer layers, including two of the lava flow paths, so they look like lava has passed through recently. There's still a lot to go on the initial idea, and I've had a few new ideas to add since I've started, but I think it's gonna be really awesome when it's all done. :D
Edit: And after much bartering for gravel with piglins, my volcano no longer floats!
I have three big projects in addition to the volcano that I'd like to build this server, but I think it might take too long to get them all done. I want to guage interest in them to see which I should prioritize.
I want to try building an ice boat racetrack, ideally with redstone obstacles, and if possible, I want to have items you can pick up and use similar to Mario Kart (thinking fishing rods, tridents, splash Potions, etc. I'll have to do some playtesting to see what works and what doesn't while riding a boat.)
I want to build a maze. I know we have a couple of these already, but I want to make one with timed redstone gates, doorways that require finding keys, some parkour challenges, etc. Kinda like Cubfan made (but smaller) if you've been following season 10 of hermitcraft. I made a small maze like this in my copy of the last server as a test, but I'm the only one who can try it. :(
I want to build a shopping mall. The idea with this is that it's a community project, I'll build the mall itself and other members of the server can come in and claim a spot to build a store. These stores would be purely decoration, I'm not proposing any kind of economy with actual buying and selling. I'm imagining a bunch of armor stand fun with this idea.
I love the shopping mall idea. It would be quite unique as Minecraft builds go, and somewhat of a showcase if we get a lot of people collaborating. I'm definitely in. :)
I really like this idea a lot too. My only concern is I don't want to end up decorating most of the shops myself. I want to mimic an actual mall floor plan so it'll be decently sized with at least two floors, a food court, and a movie theatre.
The ice boat track sounds like fun, I also like the idea of the mall. In fact, it might be fun to seed the mall with villagers to have them shopping around :)
For a mall are you thinking typical US big mall style? Or more like a European inner city shopping experience?
Typical US mall from the 80s or 90s is what I was thinking.
Maybe we should recreate the Mall of America? :D
I was thinking something a little bit smaller than that. Ha!
You could kill 2 birds and put the ice track in the mall! j/k :D
If you'll need any sandstone for it (for some reason I'm imagining that kind of colour scheme) feel free to snatch it from the shulkers inside the giant mushroom
I was kinda thinking of Starcourt Mall from Stranger Things for inspiration. It was filmed at an actual abandoned mall in Georgia called Gwinnett Place Mall which has a sandstone like exterior. Spot on!
Nobody asked for this.. but I have added advertising space to the server in the form of 2 double sided billboards! They are located along the boring stretch of rail between town and the Cubic Cabana (cyan line). (dynmap link)
They currently display the default ad, but they are up for grabs if anyone would like to use them. Each side is 8x16 blocks of space that can support map art or banners!
@eyechoirs The road to the arena is done for the most part. The last leg to the arena itself I did not do yet so we can figure out the best approach once the exterior is finished.
Thought I would post a screenshot of the exterior of my updated house in town. I took off a sizeable chunk of the mountain on the left side to add in the exterior for the small side wings. The second structure on the right is my library entrance and also covering up part of the library. I did have to move Mendanbar's campsite over a couple of blocks to make room for my build. I do enjoy how the little campsite is now surrounded by my gothic cathedral inspired house

I cleared out a geode of everything but budding amethyst blocks, water-logged it, and added a conduit inside. So if anybody needs shards or clusters, the entrance is at -892 -1258, just look for the amethyst blocks on the surface.
Water-logging the interior of the geode allows you to swim around and harvest a lot easier and, of course, the conduit lets you live and see while doing so.
I am starting the early stages of creating community stables in town. I plan on putting it right beside the transit hub across from Fiachra's place. That way, when someone comes into town via transit, they can have their horse in town ready for moving about town. The canal from the transit hub to the river by Creesch's house awkwardly divides the plot of land, so I may adjust the section to get a larger plot or I may have the stables bridge over the canal, I am undecided yet.
@Bendvis does this proposed spot cause any problems with your tree?
I had planned on building an embassy for the night elf city SrgSlimeTime and I (but mostly srg) have been building between the tree in town and the canal to the south of it, but I can always build north of the tree instead. A stable close to the transit hub sounds awesome! Feel free to build wherever and I can adapt
Ok, I will try and plan the stables in a way that leaves space for you to add a build beside your tree in some direction. The land in that area is weirdly fragmented, so we both may have to get a bit creative on build locations
Edit: I have started laying out the rough skeleton and shape of the stables. I have left space between the stables and the base of the tree, but realized I am under some branches. If I am too close, let me know and I can adjust it. I am thinking I will also incorporate a road from the transit hub through the stables, to the base of your tree which should help providing you road access for your embassy
That sounds awesome. I don't think the embassy building will be all that large. I'm picturing it being a taller building tucked up against the trunk of the tree somewhere, so no worries at all about other builds being under the branches. They def reach a long way.
Things have been crazy the last few weeks so I haven't had a ton of time to be on, but they should start calming down again soon as my kids get back into the school year.
Sounds good, I will continue building in the current location then.
My vote is on bridging the canal as the goal of the canal was to make the river journey shorter to begin with :)
Having said that, I do not boat around that much anymore. Mostly when moving mobs or when I am in a particular mood, so it isn't the biggest deal if the canal gets rerouted a bit.
edit:
Actually had a look in game, if by moving you mean just make the canal go alongside the path that seems like it should work without any issue :)
I wanna play so bad but I have had no time, I appreciate the updates and screenshots, looks fun!
same, I haven't had much time to play but I'm living vicariously through these updates.
Even if you only have 30min a week to play, I would say hop on. If you want to build a house in town, the community can help you gather resources. We are also pretty gracious of half completed builds, especially if we can tell someone is working on it slowly and it isn't abandoned
Totally agree! More than willing to chip in to help gather materials for people who have less time.
The cyan line route to the Cubic Cabana is now functional. It also extends a little further and loops back at the river near @eyechoirs estate. Not much utility to that leg yet, but it provides a pretty nice view of @GravySleeve's volcano.
I have enabled end portal sand duplication.
I'll just place this here for anyone interested :D
Minecraft Elegance: Instant Concrete Factory
The gravity duplication isn't working correctly. My concrete factory duplicates items exactly one time per flip of a lever. ( ._.)
From the pin in ianxofour's discord:
in 1.21 you can just allow-unsafe-end-portal-teleportation
Also the following settings need to be changed in paper.yml
Under unsupported settings
allow-permanent-block-break-exploits: true
allow-piston-duplication: true
allow-unsafe-end-portal-teleportation: false
I'm getting conflicting info from your comment. Should
allow-unsafe-end-portal-teleportation
betrue
orfalse
?allow-permanent-block-break-exploits
andallow-piston-duplication
are alreadytrue
and have been for a while. So I think it's already set up as you specified. Not sure. I think it should probably be set to true; which, I'm pretty sure is what you did this morning. I may have found a workaround. The rates for the farm are going straight to hell tho. ( ._.)
In the center of town next to the roof portal tower we have had an unfinished house for a while. In fact, I think it was started in the first week of the server and has seen no activity since.
Since it is basically in the middle of everything, I decided yesterday to at least finish the exterior a little bit. I put on a roof and also added some windows to break up the walls. I forgot who is the owner, but if you do return to the server I made sure to do everything in such a way that it can easily be undone or replaced.
Also, sorry, I let all the pigs escape. Good news though, we have community farms anyway these days ;)
If I'm not mistaken (which I often am), I believe that house belongs to @Fiachra
Ah yes, anyone can remove or repurpose that if they want, I had big intentions when the server started but didn't have the time to get into it.
Well, it now has a roof and some windows, so it looks somewhat complete. If you do find the time and inclination to play, I feel like it will be around for a little while. :)
Ah yeah, that sounds like you are right. The name is on a sign outside the door, it is just that I only remembered to write up my comment today while working. So I couldn't check.
