What games have you been playing, and what's your opinion on them?
What have you been playing lately? Discussion about video games and board games are both welcome. Please don't just make a list of titles, give some thoughts about the game(s) as well.
I've been replaying Crash Team Racing Nitro Edition on switch.
CTR was one of my favorite PS1 games as a kid. Despite that, the game is still a challenge at higher difficulty levels, particularly on some of the bonus tracks.
I like the existence of the Pit Stop shop in game. Having a big range of unlockables gives me a reason to keep farming coins, and there are no money exclusive unlocks.
The downside to this is needing to be connected to network servers. I dont pay for Nintendo online, so that means no online races and I need an internet connection if I want to accumulate shop coins. But at least I can still play the game when offline.
One thing I always think about when playing these remastered games is that I really like the work thats been done on enhancing the visuals and aesthetic, but I could have done with less visual polish in exchange for just getting rid of loading times. We have the technology to eliminate loading screens, maybe the original game didnt but youre remaking the game now.
Right now I'm driving in American Truxk Simulator for the Halloween event - transporting snacks and whatnots.
American and European Truck Simulators are great games if you want to just turn off your brain. Ypu can just cruise around and enjoy the view.
I play it more like racing simulator - pedal to the metal all the way and dodge traffic, often using the shoulder line, gping on red lights and cruising at 90mph through towns. Just as Rubber Duck did in the movie Convoy - I also tjrew in some mods to be able tonuse his Mack RS712 LST. Well, technically speaking, I bought the game just to be able to cruise "New Mexico on I-40" as C. W. McCall sings in he title song.
Good games, detailed (when you see the whole scope of the game), still updated to this day, keeping players engaged through various events on Worlds of Trucks and still making DLCs for both ATS and ETS2.
