Seems very... clean and shiny? The CGI stands out a lot more than it did in Fury Road. Will be interesting to see if this is an artifact of an early trailer or if it holds through to release.

That was my first impression as well. The visual effects seems like a step down from Fury Road. In particular, the scene where Hemsworth is wearing a red cape and riding a chariot (1:52) and the scenes with Taylor-Joy's robotic arm seem pretty rough. Fury Road was also heavy on CGI but it was largely used to augment cool physical props, costumes, and practical effects. Hopefully Furiosa will do the same. I don't want to see Marvel-esque world where everything is digital and perfect and boring.
Same. Fury Road was widely applauded for its practical effects. You'd have thought they'd keep that winning formula for a sequel. I feel like this is going to be a lot like The Hobbit vs LOTR....

Make it cheap(er) by using CGI and dumb it down for mass appeal. Unfortunately, I'm sure they'll still print money.

I wonder if some of the animations were adapted from the video game mechanics, which could explain them being more apparent?

Hahaha, I thought the same thing when I saw it! Like, it's been a few years but I still had an inkling in the back of my mind that I was seeing something I'd already thought before.

This series is so interesting because each entry has a completely distinct character/tone. This, I hope, will be a great complement to the rest.
Visuals seem largely unfinished but ignoring that this trailer is pretty uninspired. A set of cool shots with nonsense sentences, this was largely a miss for me. Hemsworth's nose looks fake but...

I would've preferred a bait and switch where this movie's Furiosa isn't Anya Taylor Joy, she'd be the newbie and someone else was the actual badass Furiosa in this. But we'll see it's not like this trailer really revealed anything, I just hope this isn't her origin story, I don't need to see how she becomes a hero.
Just like a trailer should be, I don't want to see scenes from the last act of the movie in the trailer. I just want to get the VIBES of the movie, not the full plot.

Agreed, and the vibe I got from this trailer is best summed up as "'YOU 'MEMBER FURY ROAD???" I even got a laugh out of the line "I'm Furiosa!" Really going for some sophisticated characterization...

I watched this recently with some of my DnD friends since we're doing a car combat part in our campaign right now and it's still so incredible how incredible Fury Road looks even after the 4th time watching.
Watched this trailer this morning then out of curiousity I went back and rewatched the "Official Main Trailer" for Fury Road linked for anyone who also wants to compare. I'm looking forward to...

I'm looking forward to seeing more in the Mad Max world, but in comparison this trailer does feel like it fell flat. I hope the film delivers more of a polished experience than the trailer currently implies.

I loved Fury Road and I like Anya a lot. This trailer makes me nervous...
How? Genuinely curious. People throw around generic a lot.

Sure, agreed, but this felt more like a demo reel where all the shots happen to be from the same movie.
