And then I remembered what the entire point of Spaceballs was, and I honestly think that it's existence puts at incredible potential for for some classic film parody, in ways that we don't see often in the industry these days.
Rick Moranis being back is a strong sign that it has some good bones. I wish them luck in putting their vision together.
I really hope that them being able to pull Moranis out of retirement is a good sign for the quality of the script. I feel like he wouldn't bother after all this time if it weren't good.

May this be so horrible that it's brilliant and phenomenal, may the critics hate it and only 10% of tha audience adore it. May the Schwartz be with you.

With how bad I thought History of the World Part 2 was, I have zero hope for this. But honestly as long as Nick Kroll isn't involved again I think it'll be fine. I don't hate Kroll; some of his...

Also the trailer lied about there only being one Spaceballs.
I just assumed the animated series is to Mel Brooks as the Star Wars Holiday Special is to George Lucas. Either that or he forgot about it, which isn't unexpected given he will be 99 years old by...

I kind of want to see Patton Oswalt take that role. He doesn't really have the energy to match Candy, but I think he has a dog-like innocence that would work nicely.

Gad is super involved - like co-wrote the screenplay and will definitely be in it. I’m also expecting Son of Barf (or sister’s cousin’s step-son or something silly).

Patton Oswald would be great but part of me wants to see Disney-era Star Wars parody pushed to the point of a really uncanny CGI John Candy reprising his role in the vein of Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing. There’s about a million possible ways that could go horribly wrong but it could also be legendary.
I wonder if they’ll try a CGI de-aged Mel Brooks as “Baby Yogurt.” That could be fun too.
I was just joking about this last night with my friends. I looked up Mel Brooks' age and learned he's almost 99, so I sarcastically said "he's got another one in him". I didn't mean it to be true!...

Disney-era Star Wars is absolutely ripe with material perfect for satirizing, not to mention the last two decades or so of nerdy pop culture. In capable hands, we may have something special here.
I remember this was already announced this time last year, I wonder why they didn't post a big video announcement until now? It also seems a lot of people didn't hear about it the last time, since...

Wild that Brooks will be north of 100 if he makes it to the premiere.
Fine, I'll say it: holy crap! I had no idea he is that old!
Rick Moranis and Bill Pullman set to return

I swear I remember seeing news years ago Rick Moranis Passed away. Strange
You might be confusing him with Harold Ramis, I often do
I believe he got punched in the face by a random person while walking down the street, but he was fortunately okay after that.
Would "Spaceballs 3: The Search for Spaceballs 2" be acceptable?
I saw someone on the blank check subreddit make this exact same joke. Parallel thinking at its best!

I'm tentatively excited for this one. Really happy to see Rick Moranis is on board, I've missed seeing him on screen.

I had a similar thought since I heard Josh Gad is/was involved in this. Perhaps he'll play the son of Barf?

Barf, son of Barf. Barf always comes back up.
You can't keep barf down!

I laughed multiple times at the trailer, I've gone from skeptical to excited as fuck

Before anyone gets too excited, let’s not forget about the truly awful and dreadful animated series that also had Mel Brooks approval and involvement.
