hidden old comment since I broke the rules so bad in my excitement... but still think they're good recommendations. ;)
💖 Sufjan and Indie/Art/Chamber Folk & Pop. I could easily recommend dozens of artists/albums that you might also like, but I will just list my current top 5 (in no particular order) for you, so as not to totally overwhelm. ;)
Gonna be a bit of a hard/unconventional one I think. I found this album a while ago while I was getting into vaporwave, but it's not vaporwave exactly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-6z9BzM2AQ...
Gonna be a bit of a hard/unconventional one I think.
It's hypnogogic, glitchy, atmospheric, but also upbeat and has some interesting vocals-but-not-lyrics on some songs.
I'll just be happy with a handful of artists that just have a single component like the vocals as an instrument bit, but i'm hoping this is its own genre.
Dead can Dance - The host of the Seraphim

Fleet Foxes - Self-titled album
Ben Gibbard (pretty much everything he has ever done) but I especially love his live solo stuff, e.g. KEXP Full performance, NPR Tiny Desk concert, and bonus Death Cab For Cutie NPR Tiny Desk too.
PHOX - Self-titled album... bonus NPR Tiny Desk concert
The Family Crest - Beneath the Brine... bonus NPR Tiny Desk concert
The Oh Hellos - Dear Wormwood... bonus NPR Tiny Desk concert (can you tell where I discover most of my music yet? ;)
Alright, Top 6... because I would be remiss if I didn't mention Cosmo Sheldrake - The Much Much How How and I, which is currently my top favorite album. ;)
p.s. Another bonus for ya... It's ancient and super low quality, but this is still my favorite live Sufjan vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4tkiGvV_ek
