They actually forced me to take a survey on this last week in messenger. It wasn't super long, but I'm surprised to see something actually come of it.

I would never use meta products anymore if I didn't have to, but I have an instagram where I share my art, and unfortunately, it got linked to my FB account as a professional account and I can't uncouple them without losing my insta account. I also have a few friends who refuse to text and only use messenger for whatever reason, so I still have that as well. I wish I could just do away with all of it. I wouldn't even have an instagram if there were a viable alternative for my art niche.

Or maybe I'll make a quilt. I still don't know what I want to make from them lol. Mr tired keeps asking me what I'm going to do with them too 😂.

Thank you for the kind compliments! As it turns out, chitons are difficult to replicate when you're trying to sew the pieces together.

English Paper Piecing is really relaxing at the making the pieces part. I assume the stitching them together part will be very stressful lol.

I've hate read a few books, but I do try to give myself permission to DNF books I don't like. I'm also stubborn and will trudge through books I think I should like, but don't love. My main issue has generally been books that need a bit more of an edit because they're too long for no reason, as if the author was trying to hit a word count.

The total for Timasomo of hexagons was 672! I still have more scraps and hexies to glue together, but I think I'm really enjoying how relaxing this process it. I'm pretty sure I will end up with a nice, large piece of fabric out of these!

I haven't made them in a long time, especially since I've gone mostly plant-based this year, but chicken kotleti: ground chicken, onions, bread, milk, egg. Mix it all together, and you have a meat patty you can pan fry. They're delicious, easy, and cheap if you shop at aldi or grocery outlet, or bulk buy. It's a Ukranian/Eastern European food I grew up with that's always filling and makes a lot, so you can use the leftovers in a breakfast fry with eggs and potatoes the next morning.

My current plant-based cheap meal is rice and beans. Rice is cheap, beans are cheap, and we buy them dry, so they're even cheaper. I mix it all together and throw in a bay leaf to my rice cooker, and it comes out perfectly mixed and delicious. Some hot sauce or salsa on it, and it's a perfect, low effort, cheap meal.

    Final updates:

    1. I did indeed baste the fabric together, and I hate it. So I might just throw on some more pins and make it "sleeved." I'll be trying that tonight with some silver ribbon I bought to make a belt. I'm also using the beautiful fabric I bought for my wedding cape as a hood, and I love that. It looks so good.

    2. I've made close to 400 hexies at this point. They've gotten me through a lot of tough times this month when I felt like I couldn't do anything at all, so I made a hex or two.

    3. I've abandoned the top for now, not because I don't like it, but because I've been busy and sick this month, so aside from the mockup nothing is done.

Not too shabby for having been otherwise unable to work this month. I still need to get on to designing a new sticker design for my trip next month and ordering it, which, thanks to tariffs, has gotten 30% more expensive, even though I print in the US.

I love a haunted house setting. I've read so many books set in haunted houses of various capacities, and almost every single one has been outstanding.

I also generally enjoy books set in Regency England, especially Jane Austen novels, and other novels that take that period about as seriously as Miss Austen herself.

I'm going to lay out the fabric for my Halloween costume this evening and pin what I need to. I just can't do it by myself, nor do I have the table or floor space to do it at the moment so I need Mr. Tired to help me move the dining table so I can lay out the fabric on a section of floor that is as tall as I am.

I also ran out of scrap fabrics in my stash, so I ordered two jelly rolls to cut into the right size for the hexagon paper pieces, which I also ran out of the original set I ordered. I purchased a 2-inch hexagon paper cutter thingy (stamp thingy? I am really not on with words today), so that I can stamp out hexagons as needed for the paper piecing. I'm up to about 400 hexagons made, and I'm really proud of that. I still don't know what I will make with all of my hexagons, but at least I'm enjoying making them. They're a really relaxing thing I can do while in meetings, or in the evenings that doesn't take up much space, isn't messy, isn't heavy, and doesn't need any brain power to complete.

I wholeheartedly agree with this research, and it's something I've been saying for a long time as a layperson with a background in biology.

I'm still sad that for some people, it's still unavoidable as allergies can come on suddenly at any age, regardless of exposure. I've known a few people, who, despite early and often exposure to allergens like peanuts, still ended up allergic to them as adults. Mr. Tired is one such person, and it sucks because Reese's were one of his favorite candies.

    Favorite hobbies in general:
Sewing, reading, cooking, baking, knitting, drawing, embroidery

current preferred hobby: English paper piecing

Actually, you know what? My favorite hobby is scrolling pinterest and finding activities (recipes, patterns, books, coloring pages, arts and crafts) that I want to do one day.
