Obviously, the other thing we need to do is kill Citizen's United, and any other laws that allow congress people to take money from corporations.

I think the only reason why it might have made sense that they don't get their sentences commuted is because he thinks Trump will just release them.
It would have made for a way more interesting discussion around the federal death penalty as well if he had decided none of them would be put to death, and might start an even larger conversation around the states that still have the death penalty, to potentially abolish it as well. Leaving those three men on death row leaves room for the country to leave the death penalty intact, state and federal.

I think this should be the case for any position one would run for. If you are of the age of retirement, you are no longer eligible to represent the people. Theoretically, you already completed your civic duty, and now it is time to rest.
I also strongly believe that age minimums past the age of majority are age discrimination, however, I understand why some are put in place, I just think that if you call age discrimination on those over 40, I think age discrimination should be categorized as anything regarding age. but that's a different story.

When all nonviolent methods have been exhausted, it is our duty to uphold justice - even if violence is the ultimate use of our duty.
It's just so crazy that this one murder, which would have just been another murder any other day if this person wasn't so rich and powerful, we didn't even know his name until he was murdered, for the most part (just a faceless CEO), we would never have heard of this gun violence in NY. and now it's rippled into copyight law, journalistic integrity, fast food, and more.

Honestly, there are so many issues with copyright, and I'm sure it ties in, somehow with the issues Mangione made a statement on, but it's just wild to me that we can have so many different discussions spring from one event that have tendrils in so many aspects of society, namely those that benefit the rich, and punish everyone else.

Like Hemingway will usually be The Old Man and the Sea, or Steinbeck will be Grapes of Wrath, or you can see what each grade is reading: 1984, Catch 22, Fahrenheit 451, The Giver, Beloved, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, Catcher in the Rye. Most of these authors wrote a ton, you just need to pick a book that's recommended and start.

I used to talk about how Disney just did things better than Universal in all the little touches and how Universal felt very rides-focused, and that wasn't my thing. In the last 5–10 years, Universal has been matching and surpassing Disney in theming, little touches, characters, food, parking, and most of all, value. Sure, it doesn't have hotels on property like Disney does, but it has other perks.
I'm really hoping that Disney wakes up and realized that it's the touches that make the magic and they start bringing the perks back and add that value back in that they have been systematically stripping from their brand for that same last 5-10 years.
It's nice to hear that there are so many others who agree with me and hopefully disney will start listening again, because the price just isn't worth it anymore. We're not going to renew our passes because it would cost the same for single/multi-day passes for the number of trips we're planning on taking, plus, we really want to do Tokyo or Paris in the next year if we can swing it.

As someone who has gotten more and more sick over the last decade, I have definitely become more and more upset with the health insurance industry as a whole. Even today, I was expecting a phone call from my insurer, and they assured me I would receive one, and no one has called. They keep lying to keep me from complaining. I also have become so disillusioned with the entire industry. Literally everyone who touches the health insurance companies is in my burn book.
And yes, vision and dental absolutely need to be rolled into health insurance. It's insane to me that in 2024, they still aren't.

As a massive Disney fan, I'm unsurprised, and also extremely unhappy with the decision, but the company seems to no longer listen to their fans, who have made them this successful, only the shareholders.
They're in for a massive reckoning in the next few years as Epic Universe gains steam, and it's going to be very interesting to follow along as a fan.

We aren't encouraged by society's standards to go to the doctor before we get sick or injured to prevent illnesses from happening, even if we know we're susceptible to illnesses or injuries. We're treated as crazy or hypochondriacs if we think something is wrong with us, especially if we're AFAB. We're told if we have pain that it's all in our heads, and we need to just lose some weight and then the issues will go away, or we need to try yoga or drink more water, or or or....
Then, when we actually are sick enough to go to the doctor, the doctors treat us as if we're pill seekers, and that we just want them to give us the good drugs when something is wrong, often to the point that many become disabled and lose at least some mobility, their cancer gets worse before it's found, people become desperate and destitute searching for medical help and answers.
