I think that's the correct use of AI in medicine, but using GPT to ask it how to comfort someone when they lose a pet if they've never had one seems lazy. How can you not think to say, "I'm sorry for your loss. It must be difficult not having your buddy by your side," on your own?
Therapists using GPT like google to ask it how to handle patient situations is insane to me. They might as well just quit and set you up with GPT before they go.

It literally brought me back to my childhood helping my babushka cook. It wasn't as red as I wanted it to be, but only because we used a combination of red and yellow beets. Next time it will be a full pot of red beets.
We also made impossible hot dogs, which I hadn't had before (because our American partners don't like beets). They're also so good. If I had been given one and not told it was impossible, I wouldn't have been able to tell you that it was fake meat.

My copy is falling apart, and it was already used when it was given to me by my brother's friend to keep me quiet and out of the way when they were hanging out.
The Harry Potter books, of course, shaped my life, but I have moved past those books being influential in my life. They've been thoroughly replaced with all of Rick Riordan's catalogue.
As for the books that were assigned reading, when I did them, I found that I mostly enjoyed reading the books, but hated the assignments that went with them that forced us to think in very specific ways about what we read. I absolutely hated TKAM, but I think I'm alone here in that respect. 1984, Farenheit 451, The Giver, Lord of the Flies and the Walden/Hemingway/Thoreau stories are the ones I carry strongest in my memories, though I also really don't like the WHT ones. Dystopian fiction was a highlight in my high school career (we read The Giver in elementary school, but that, and The Lottery are still with me). Catch-22 is one of my favorite books I read in high school that was assigned reading. Dystopian and hilariously dark, It's one I come back to regularly.
I also recently "re-read" Beloved. I didn't actually read it when I was supposed to because I hated the assignments that went with it and Spark-Notes'ed the answers because it was literally taken from there. I found I actually enjoyed it.
I'm also really jealous of the people who were assigned Tolkein in school.

Picky kids are one thing, kids with illnesses that only McDonald's can help is absolutely awful, and I feel for the poor kid.
Funny thing is, mom and dad don't like McDonald's, nor did mom eat it while pregnant with kiddo. They figured out the fries were a safe food by pure accident and out of absolute exhaustion and desperation.

I'm glad there are still places going strong and fighting back.

Entirely useless except to terrify almost everyone who's seen it, and I can fall into a split without warming up in left foot in front, and right foot in front splits as well as a full side split. I used to be able to get both of my feet behind my head, though my weight gain from my chronic illnesses has stopped that for me. If I can lose about 30 more pounds, I'll be able to do it again. My bones also pop out of alignment really easily, and I can play with my patella without ruining my knee. I'm basically Gumby or the wild wacky inflatable guy.
I can also accurately measure volume with just my hands. If you need a 1/4-1c of anything, can grab the exact amount on the first try. Mostly useless, except when I'm baking, and the recipe doesn't come in metric which is the only way I bake, even as an American (yes, I'm a heathen).
I guess I'm also part of the Tildes whistling club? I can whistle melodies fairly well. Even though my entire life growing up was musical between dance, playing piano, and being in band, I have a hard time telling if I'm on the right key/note without guidance from someone else. So I can whistle anything if someone guides my key.

I mostly consume my protein in the form of eggs, mushrooms, and tofu, but I am adding seafood back in now that I know my triggers. Mr. Tired is excited about the changes to our cooking and actually has gone with me to shop for all the plant-based ingredients. Over the weekend, I pre-cooked rice and beans, and yesterday we had rice and bean burritos. Tonight we're going out to dinner at our favorite local BBQ joint, where I literally can't eat anything, but I called ahead, and they're making a special dish for me tonight, which is exciting!
Tomorrow, I have a vision of making butter soy trumpet mushrooms over rice and stir-fried veggies. But that remains to be seen whether I have the energy to cook it.
We also tried the impossible spicy chicken patties this weekend as a fast food-style spicy chicken sandwich, and they were absolutely delicious. The texture isn't quite there like their regular chicken nuggets are, but the flavor is good enough to overcome it!
I find the thing I'm missing the most is cheese, which I can't eat due to lactose, even with taking a lactaid pill, I still feel very nauseous, so I try to avoid anything with lactose in it if I can, and was able to find lactose free Greek yogurt which tastes pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of plant based cheeses, I find they don't feel the same, and for me, texture is the most important with cheeses. I'm not really a big cheese person, and you won't catch me eating anything with mold, including brie, but I do like cheddar, havarti, and mozzarella especially.
This diet change has me experimenting with more varieties of beans, though! This week I tried Gigante Beans and omg they're so good and you can bake them into these nice crispy nuggets!

I very rarely watch things on it unless it's a tutorial for some sort of art thing I want to try, or I plug it into the TV when I'm traveling to watch my own things instead of actual TV.
I also use it to read a lot. I read books as audiobooks, but if I'm reading an article or a research paper, it's on my iPad. It's good for me for that purpose because I have ADHD and can't sit still or like a normal person, and it reduces eye strain for me than a traditional screen since it's easier to customize with accessibility features.
I also use it for recipes I find on pinterest so I can cook with a larger screen instead of a tiny phone.

I went to several Asian grocery stores on Saturday and then on Sunday I did a lot of cooking, both days, up until my chronic fatigue told me to lie down and not move.
Yesterday I also had to deal with a very sad and pouty dog because her BFF was picked up on Saturday after a week-long visit. She's still sad today.
You know, I think I'm ok with therapists using any resource/research tools at their disposal on their own time, you're right.
I'm just incensed that these therapists seem to be using these tools DURING the session without letting their patients know implicitly, or (the better option imo) asking permission to use them in the first place during the session.
I agree ,I'm so tired of everyine who is outsourcing their brains to LLMs. It's something I talk about a lot at work because I'm one of the few holdouts that refuses to use any AI tools available to me for my work.
