What theme do you use with Tildes?
I’ve come to associate Love Dark with Tildes because I like it so much. I don’t use any other theme here. I think it works well with the excellent layout of the site UI elements, giving the blend between them a particular smoothness.
How about you?
Dracula for me, I appreciate the dark blues giving me a dark mode adjacent experience without everything being black
Atom One Dark. The contrast is perfect for me.
I use this one as well, it gives a nice dark mode without the stark contrast of the Black theme, plus I'm rather fond of the blue accents.
I didn't experiment much with the other themes but this one looked ideal or almost ideal that I didn't feel like trying the other ones.
Same here! I love it and use it whenever available - in all the supported programs.
Unfortunately, it is not included in Three Cheers... Though the dark theme offered is also nice.
Gruvbox Dark, I just like the warmer tones.
Count me in on that. I would paint my house Gruvbox colors if I had one.
Solarized Light, I find the pale brown very calming and it gives some retro vibes which distance this site even further from the "normal" internet.
I totally get the separation from the normal internet. This place is kind of a sanctuary in some ways and I think my choice of theme marks that. (I just use the default dark mode elsewhere)
It gives me the feeling of parchment, which helps with that disconnection.
I've tried all of the themes on terminals in the past, and while I've always liked Solarized Light I just couldn't stick with it in the long term. Tildes is the only place I actually use it.
Everything is solarized light for me. I turn the brightness down on my monitors and it almost looks e-ink-ish.

Same here... Anything else is too bright for my taste :)
That would be my second choice.
Love light.
Not because I'm a huge fan of purple but because it's the easiest on my eyes. I keep my screens in orangy night mode 24/7, and the resulting purply-beige is a nice soft shade, plus the colour contrast with text and links is high.
Love light for me as well, but because I am a huge fan of purple! My phone background is black-and-white and I use Apple’s icon customization to make all my apps transparent with a purple tint as well. It makes Tildes feel like a continuation of my home screen.
Same, I lvoe purple, but most of all, I love how easy on the eyes this color scheme is.
Solarized Dark
I went with Nord Dark, since it's my least distracting dark web page on both daytime and nighttime.
Not too bright, nor too dark, the letters are kept in a certain light shade of gray to keep it readable without forcing my eyes to squint or getting overwhelmed with too much lighting. The contrast between the UI elements is so well-balanced that I can still figure out each of their function and importance at a glance, all while never sacrificing readability.
I've been using the "Love dark" one with some custom colours for links and notifications, but I've gone back to the default because I've been noticing my eyes getting tired. I mostly use Tildes during my breaks at work (don't tell my boss I'm here) where the office lighting is really bright. At home it's way dimmer, so I use dark mode almost exclusively.
I can imagine Love Dark is a bit different on a non-OLED screen too.
If your boss asks, I saw you reading work-related manuals.
Love Dark is my favorite, shout out to my LD's in here already. I think it takes the lusciousness from the outrun aesthetic here
And keeps the brightness close enough to a native dark mode to make for my fav browsing experience
I guess I'm in the minority here, I use Solarized Light. I find it easier to read comments with this theme.
My phone is set to the dark theme from sunset to sunrise and with that, Firefox is also set to the device theme, and because of that about 90% of the web defaults to some sort of a dark theme. But I chose Solarized Light for Tildes at all times.

Default white. I dont use dark themes and the other light themes on Tildes are very low contrast.
I struggle with the contrast on many of those too. I’m in my late 40s and just assume that’s part of it.
I'm 18, so it's definitely not due to age. I think low contrast is just an inherent problem of most light themes. It was very hard for me to find a good light theme for coding for this exact reason.
White on mobile.

That’s interesting. Any reason for that? I’m guessing maybe you use your mobile device outdoors but desktop in a more dimly lit room.
Correct. Plus, my monitors are so large white is just an obnoxious color that fills up too much room and blinds me. Like staring at several bare lightbulbs direct on.
On mobile though, white/light mode lets me tune my OS to have a smaller DPI, since I can read things better black on white, than the other at small sizes, meaning I can set me DPI to way below standard, and have desktop mode for almost all websites be able to be read.
Gruvbox Dark or Zenburn during nighttime and Gruvbox Light during the day. I loved Tildes themes back when I first joined. Something that was only vaguely accessible on reddit via RES.
I like Zenburn. It's easy on the eyes and plays well with the blue and purple colors of links.
I mostly read Tildes on my GrapheneOS phone, to it is Black theme for me.
Graphene is black and white mostly OS on its own and given the AMOLED display the black is the best color.

It's fairly easy on my eyes, but also reminds me of DeviantArt. Back in early college while reading reader insert fan fiction on there I'd invert the colors of my Macbook screen at night sometimes, and DeviantArt's pale green scheme would become dark purple.
White at work (or Black if I am in a dark-mode phase). Blends in with the work stuff so my colleagues don't ask "hEy wHat is ThAt?!"
Gruvbox light otherwise. I love the warmth of it.
None, I guess? I pretty exclusively use tildes via the three cheers app, and that's in dark mode like everything else on my phone. I don't know that I've ever browsed on a PC. It's all text-based so I don't see any advantage to using a larger screen.
I use white on desktop, I use the OLED black theme in the Three Cheers app on mobile. I'm not entirely sure why I use white on the desktop to be quite honest, it looks aesthetically pleasing enough for me I guess.
