My agent wrote into the contract that all lights, fans, etc., will be returned to stock before closing, because I know for a fact that no one would want to spend the time to understand my automations and the random .json and .yaml piecemeal extracted from across the web.
Amazon/google home interfaces and devices may be easily transferable, but home assistant servers are so incredibly unique and specifically catered. I can’t imagine thinking that someone would want to inherit the mess I created.

It updates every time I pass a new sign, so GPS with cellular data isn’t the only way for your car to determine posted speed limits whether in a construction zone or otherwise.

I was torn open for years with regret that manifested in deep spiraling depression, a complete lack of self-care, and an absolute absence of hope, joy, or happiness at any given moment. I spoke with four different therapists and spent a cumulative two months in inpatient treatment for depression in the six years following his death. The providers helped pull me out of some of the surface-level sadness, but the core takeaway from the treatment didn’t touch the root cause of my regret; they told me I was too young to fully understand what was going on with my friend, but I knew that wasn’t the case. I was scared for him and realized the severity, but didn’t think it was possible that he would act. I remembered specific instances of teetering action vs. inaction, which meant I was capable of taking preventative steps but I chose not to.
I decided to try one more therapist who specialized in substance abuse because at this point I was deep in the throws of addiction; he said something that completely changed my outlook. He basically said “Yeah, maybe you could have done something, but you didn’t and that is a fact. But.. What if you made his life better in those last days? What if your friendship is what kept him around for longer than he otherwise would have? What if!?”
Nothing from the past was changed based on this question, but the therapist gave me a reason to find joy in the last hours, days, and weeks of the relationship with my friend. I became obsessed with this thought, and because of that, I was able to start to see the value of fostering close relationships again. I still struggle with profound regret, but that therapist was able to give me a sense of peace I’d never thought possible.

I'm currently working on a research paper (low-threat undergrad coursework), and I keep alternating between Lofi hip-hop and gentle acoustic pop covers to keep me motivated and on task. I've tried to get into a variety of classical music for this purpose, but I always end up rolling back to my Samuel Barber playlist and end up burning out on it. What's your go-to for productivity enhancement?

F-16s are incredibly capable for both air-to-air combat and close air support, but keeping them fully or partially mission capable is difficult. Training for the ground personnel, parts sustainment and availability, and general airframe fatigue is a major hurdle for any nation during peace or war. All that being said, I hope like hell this acquisition will turn the tide.

That being said, of all the pointless hobbies out there, diy electronics can be fairly cheap when you don’t mind waiting on aliexpress shipping times. -

This just reminded me of an article Low Tech magazine put out a while ago. Their entire catalog is a gold mine for the environmentally conscious, or off grid folks, but this particular article demonstrates the possibility of running turning a generator with an old stationary bike - sounds right up your alley.
