What are your thoughts on My Hero Academia as a whole?
I am certainly in love with the show. It somehow manages to invoke in me a feeling of admiration for a cartoon (which I haven't felt for a long time). Do you like or dislike the show? Why?

My reminder didn't go off and I didn't realize until today, berate me for being late.
Anyway, what have you been watching/reading this week?
Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its Anilist, MAL, or any other anime/manga database you use!
Alright, so I'd like to get some opinions going here and see what others think.
Full disclosure, I have not finished the Death Note series... I have tried and failed on 3 separate occasions because I can't stand the writing. I love the premise, but L's character is just too frustrating for me. He knows way more than he should at any given point with no explanation except he's a genius (at least, up until the point that I stopped watching. Episode 7 I think). It feels lazy to me. And everybody I talk to in person has felt the same.
BUT! I know that there are a lot of avid Death Note fans out there and there seem to be a few here on tildes, so I'd like you guys to weigh in. As a fan of the show, did you also feel this way about the writing? If so, what other redeeming qualities were there for you in this show? What about it do you love? What about it do you not like so much? It's a long series, should I push through until a certain episode? Have I just not gotten there yet?
Remembering to post this on time edition.

Day and a half late edition.

There's a lot of anime and, from what I've experienced, people who are fans watch a lot of it. It's a daunting task to keep track of what you've seen, what you've thought of it, what to anticipate coming up, and discovering more that you might like.
What site, app, home-grown system are you using to organize your anime life?
Pardon me if I don't know what I'm talking about, but I've never really been into anime, or the culture surrounding it. Personally I'm not into those cutesy anime stories, and I'd rather watch an american cartoon or some form of live-action show. Still, I've heard good things about One Punch Man, and it seems interesting. From those who've seen it, would you recommend it, and what other shows would you put it in the same categories with?
note: title subject to change
A few days ago I asked this question and got a few replies, so I figure this idea is worth trying out. If there's enough interest I'll probably move the day that this gets posted to something more regular for the week like Friday/Saturday/Sunday, but I figured I could make this one and gauge interest for the week.

Short episodes can be great because they pack a lot of content into a short amount of time. Good for when you're in a hurry or have a short attention span.
The ones that come to mind for me are:
This idea came to me last night when I was reading the post over on ~movies asking a similar question. I'm an avid user of ~music and I like to participate in the weekly "what have you been listening to" threads along with the Listening Club when possible, and I was wondering if something similar could be applied to another media group, and since I love anime and manga, my first thought was this one.
Basically my questions here are:
Would a weekly "what have you been reading/watching" thread be something you would participate in?
Secondly:
Would you prefer it be something more casual-based, or would you prefer it to be people writing reviews for things they've been viewing?
I think that one of the ways to spur more interest in media groups is weekly/monthly/whatever interval discussion threads and I'd also just personally like to see what other people here are thinking of the things they're currently watching or reading.
A basic question to help get the ~ started.
Figured since we had a favorite anime thread, we could have one for manga as well. Talk about your favorite one or two or however many you want!
I suggest using AniChart to see what's airing with solid sorting and filtering options, if you aren't already into seasonal anime or just want to see what's going on!
With the obvious most anticipated series of the season airing its first episode just recently, Summer 2018 is in full swing even by conservative estimates. What have you seen and what have you picked up or dropped so far? If you're waiting to hop on board, what looks interesting to you this season? Let's hear some thoughts :)
MAL Please no manga spoilers as this is an anime only discussion.
I love listening to Boku No Hero Academia's soundtrack when I am trying to get work done. The Villain's Theme is particularly exciting, despite the menacing vibe.
Any of you guys ever watch it? It had its 20th anniversary two months ago and I was surprised to find out how many people hadn't heard of it, even in my group of weebish friends. It's definitely strange, but it's also really exciting to try and figure things out or anticipate what happens next when you're watching. It has a weird mix of mystery and philosophy that's paced slowly but keeps you invested. It's pretty hard to explain in a meaningful way.
Maybe some of you haven't been exposed to it yet, or haven't given it a shot. If you have the time, check it out--even if you're not a huge anime fan. Given how diverse the front page of Tildes is, you may be just that until you get hooked on Lain.
Following up on the Favorite Anime topic I thought I'd see what soundtracks people really like from anime series or movies. No AMVs please.
Just wanted to start talking about anime in general see what people like, share some of our favourite titles and such. I propose we link to MAL or AniList since Tildes doesn't necessarily have a bot that would do that automatically. I'll start!
I'd love to discuss each one deeper if people are into it but I want everyone to feel free and share as much as they'd like, including personal stories and anecdotes.
edit: Amazed to see so many people sharing their favourite shows in detail, and also glad that there are so many people on tildes who share one of my favourite pastimes. :)
