I want to put something affirming here because I feel like it is needed. To whomever needs this:

You belong. There are people that believe in you and your rights. The world is better with you in it. Evil isn't going to ultimately triumph.

Seconded. There are so many people that love and support you. I know that’s very hard to see right now, but know that we’re here.

Thirded. In times like these, I like to take Mr. Rogers’ advice and “look for the people helping.”

Sorry to make light of this, but the government is saying that the love people have for trans people is so strong that they get turned into assassins?

They are cynically targeting trans people because the shooter’s lover was trans

Like, weren't you guys the free speech absolutists just last year? Doesn't that track in your brains at all??

I've found the bounds of their "free speech" is "free speech for me to be an asshole to those I don't like with impunity". It's not free speech for you.

The only terrorist organization I see here is running the country right now. Ice kidnapping citizens, military occupation of cities (and the threat of it), labeling transgender community as terrorists, violating the constitution and using the highest position in the country to enforce their "domestic ideological goals" at the expense of the people, republicans in congress allowing it all to happen... I'm sure this list can go on and on.

    FBI Definition of Domestic Terrorism:
Activities: Involving acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of criminal laws of the US or any State; appearing to be intended to Intimidate or course a civilian population; influence the policy of government by intimidation or coercion; or affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping; and occurring primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the US.

Hi people, I'm not sure what else to do, but I've been doing my best just to be nice and make you feel seen as a Trans person. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but I'm just trying to treat Trans people I see and meet as regular people; I can see the reticence and caution in your eyes, as a white dude like me approaches you, but I do my best just to be nice and treat you as a normal human being.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this right now, I don't know what else to do.

My Nephew is possibly trans and I fear for him. I'm using his born pronouns, because he hasn't identified himself any other way yet, but I'm scared for that boy every day.

Does everybody have their tee shirts ready for the war?

If the FBI wants to gin up a terror network based on the concept of being transgender, they will have to do a lot of ginning up. There are only so many Zizes. There are a lot of people with a lot of experience holding space for their friends, which does not a conspiracy to commit politically-motivated violence make.

May I inquire about how I defied expectation? Was it not being a bird made out of fire, because that comes up with some frequency.

In my head everyone on Tildes is a kind of floating digital entity. Because we tend to write more formally on Tildes than other sites, those floating digital entities are wearing business attire.

I don't see many white, cis-presenting, physically imposing men wearing shirts professing allyship, and I get around the world a fair bit. If I saw you with your 'free dad hugs', I'd probably approach you and politely request one, as I've never had one in my life.

Thanks for what you are doing.

Perhaps I am grasping at straws in denial that this could be true.. is this a freelance journalist's personal blog or something? Is any of this stuff trustworthy? The sources are two unnamed people.

Ken Klippenstein is a reliable journalist who wrote for The Intercept and a few other notable publications. He's broken a handful of big stories in recent years including the Luigi manifesto and Tyler Robinson's discord logs. I don't know if he has a perfect record, but his sources are usually reliable.

Edit: got scooped, but leaving this up to back up the other comments :)

Ken Kilpiienstein is a journalist, formerly at publications such as The Intercept, The Nation, The Young Turks, amongst other places, but now independent on his own Substack.

He's generally pretty reliable and neutral enough for me, although no one is perfect or infallible.

As for sources and if this is trustworthy and such, well this article specifically, who can say. Is the administration in general targeting trans people however? Oh yeah for sure, I mean you don't need research for that, just listen to when the POTUS starts bringing up "transtifa" and blaming trans people for all the worlds' woes. The administration isn't like, shying away from transphobia (or anything, really), like its pretty clear cut what they're about and what they're doing.
