I need to clean out my car. It's not like, super dirty but the carpets need to be cleaned. I'll probably do the shampoo/vacuum thing. Also I need to get the baby's car seat secured better because it's not super locked in right now. Don't worry, the baby hasn't been born yet so it's not like I'm driving around with a poorly-installed chair and my child is in danger.
Today I need to go to the fish market though, and pick up some shrimp. I'll probably do that over lunch.
Hey there, geosmin. I thought part of the point of these weekly posts was to get you motivated and accountable. So, what's on your to-do list this week? :P EDIT: I accidentally a word.

Week:
Look for some possible Meetup events for the weekend
Get an old computer ready to give a friend
Identify unfamiliar and common skillsets in job postings and find the corresponding courses
Thank you. Now we expect an update at the end of the week (or at the start of next week, or whenever you're making these posts). Get off your arse, mister/missy!

I'm planning to knock out every task I have going on at work (big or small), deep clean my house, prepare some large meals that I can freeze, have my son completely ready for going back to school in a few weeks and have everything planned out and organized for family coming into town. But I'm nine months pregnant and due to have the baby next week, so I'll probably just eat a bunch of garbage foods and take naps instead.

I really need to get back on track with my use of Headspace for guided meditation. It was helping me in the past with some work anxiety ... with letting things go and stop circling them around my brain ... but I switched jobs and got out of the habit and found I could probably still use the help it provided me.

I also love the book The Tao of Pooh if you are interested in Taoism, mindfulness, being present etc... I work in mental health and recommend this book to people all the time.
In my humble opinion, just meditate, any way you can, these are just things I like!

I love Insight Timer, I've found it significantly more useful than Headspace (although I might just be cheap...).
One thing I've been somewhat dismayed to see, however, is the introduction of several paid features to the app over the past few months. It wasn't long ago that the only in-app purchases available were cosmetic features (e.g. different bells, ambient sounds).
Now, it would seem that $ signs lurk around every corner. Subscriptions for offline use, subscriptions for multi-part meditation courses, etc. etc. The free features are still available, but I'm increasingly concerned they may be crowded out in the near future by paid content.
Concerns notwithstanding, I wholeheartedly second your recommendation! Insight Timer is still the best mediation app available, in my opinion, and all the dreaded futures I've imagined for the app are already realities for Headspace!

I'll check out Insight Timer. I got Headspace at half price initially and my insurance plan at the job I just picked up will cover future subscription costs for that and a few other mindfulness services so I thought that was pretty nice. But I'll check out Insight Timer too.
That's awesome that your insurance will cover that stuff. Another great book for meditation is called "10% Happier" by Dan Harris. He also has a podcast. I know you didn't ask for more (or any)...

Looks good, I bet you can pop wheelie's for days with the added weight in the back, although probably not recommended. I'd love to see the pics of the trip, I hope the rest of your trip is awesome!

I've started a journal. I just went to Walmart and picked myself up a little notebook. I don't know what to put in it, but I plan on starting to write something this weekend.
My kids will be away with their grandparents doing fun summer things, so I'll probably use this as an opportunity to get a few things done around the house.
And then probably play Fortnite. Yeah I know, but hear me out. Save the world is so much better than the free version. If you enjoy the borderlands series or destiny, I suggest you give it a go. It's so much fun and everyone can play together. I play on PC and my wife is on PS4. We game together and that seems to be all we play now.
I really need to get my car to the shop to fix a dent from a wind storm that happened months ago. I knew having a baby would change things, but I never considered the pure lack of time I'd experience.

I got the Cherry clears (have them on my Poker II and love them), and the Acute keycaps. Wish they were XDA profile, but what can you do. 🤷♂️
They're doing this drop a little different. Apparently they're charging everyone that gets in on it before the end of this month on August 1st to start production early. Then the rest of the orders at the end of the drop. I got in pretty early, so I'm hoping I get it sooner.

I also want to knock out a chunk of the Ken Burns Vietnam doc. The doc is 18 hours long and there's always reading (East of Eden and It Can't Happen Here), video games (Fortnite) or movies to enjoy, so I have a hard time watching a full episode from the series.

Startup this tractor, learn how to operate it, and use the flail to mow a very overgrown field. I’m pretty much a soft skinned city boy mostly raised in America and I have no idea what I’m doing....
I did it! Something is weird with the gearbox that powers the flail attachment, but gosh darn it I drove a tractor! Anyone know any good tractor mechanics in Lower Silesia? :)

The memory technique is something of an ancient art that became considered a tad outdated and esoteric after the invention of the printing press, though certainly remains an incredibly useful skill.
In what's called "the method of loci," a practitioner consistently and quickly can memorize phrases and numbers by translation them into visual images, then memorizing these images. This is important, as humans have a terrific visual memory.
It essentially allows you to memorize any tidbit of information you might find useful (anywhere from phone numbers and address to poetry or even entire books,) which is certainly something anyone could benefit from! I hope you take the time to investigate further, as I'm particularly bad at abstract descriptions.

We've got to get our house on the market soon so we can hopefully sell it by then. We need the money to pay off some debt, ideally before we get down there. In any case I plan on getting more of our crap packed up and into storage this week.

The heat waves in london are not helping with it as everytime a sit in front of the computer I feel either sleepy or plain fainting for the terrible hot weather and sunny days. I'm not even joking.
If I managed to get past this I'll probably manage to address the issue in just a day, they're not that hard.
I also have promised my wife to make a proper GDR-City (dunno if it's the right name, basically a GDR by Chat) for her. It's quite a big thing since the '90s in both Italy and Spain apparently, but the main repository for it is very badly written, designed and mantained.
I plan to rebuild it using angular 5/6, nodeJS and socket.io. Maybe I'll throw in also electron just for the sake of playing with it and being able to have a dedicated client instead of having to deal with all the possible browser headaches that comes with writing a frontend UI/UX. So the thing to scratch out of the todo-list is to get the design planned out (auth, frontend-backend exchange, socket.io and how they fit together)

Ah. My car inside is a mess at the moment. I've let it get pretty bad with dust etc.

That sounds like a good plan. You should just have your useless boyfriend do the rest of it.
Is blinkerfluid13 the mother of your child-to-be, or am I reading too much into this?
She is.
Okay, but I'm pretty sure my boss is going to notice.
I can do a good falsetto. Just you wait and see.

I know you didn't ask for more (or any) recommendations, but I love discussing/sharing this stuff.
I'm more than happy to hear more options - and if others come across this thread they might appreciate the info too. Thanks!
Can I add this to my to do list or is it already taken?
Nice! Any particular reason for learning Japanese other than it just being cool?
Honestly I think it's just a cool language to learn too. I've never seen any downside to learning a language either.
Bike 450 miles. I have ~8 days left of my bike trip.
Where are you heading?
Seattle to a place in Wisconsin I'm not gonna specify cuz I live there.
Where are you heading?
Are you carrying all your gear with you or do you have places to stay along the way? If you do have all your gear on your bike, any way we can get a pic?

Yeah if it's anymore then 13% grade I have to get off the bike because I pop wheelies. Definitely gonna get some front packs for my next trip.

Everyone is having babies here! One of my best friends (well his wife) is only around 2 weeks away.
So you live in my neck of the woods, regionally speaking at least.
I need to get on the C25K plan too. It's something I gotta make time for though.
What board did you get? I got in on the Preonic on Massdrop a week or so ago. Now I just need to find some XDA keycaps that will match the purple case...

That's what I want, actually. A former rental car. They have miles but they're usually well maintained anyway.

I'm going to try and start learning memory techniques.

In any case I plan on getting more of our crap packed up and into storage this week.
I just moved in town to a new house, so I wish you well moving to a new city far away. Eat a taco and drink a margarita in Austin for me.
Clean the living room. It's been a mess due to life issues happening over the past couple of months.
It's work-related, but right now the roadblock we're dealing with that prevents us from moving forward is fully integrating a third-party API for critical functionality in a data-safe manner. I plan to complete that early this week so we can keep the proverbial ball rolling.
I'm taking two CLEPs which my college will accept for a total of six semester hours, saving me a ton of time working toward my degree.
Some friends and I are trying to quit drinking for 60 days starting today. We aren't like crazy drinkers or anything but I think it'll feel good and I need to save some cash anyways. Other than that I am going to try to fix my dryer (laundry). I think it needs a new belt but haven't taken it apart yet.
Canceling moviepass because it is up for renewal .
I should really gather my strenght and find some time to get back at tildes-extended to fix some bug report and test the keyboard navigation that @bauke finished in the develop branch.
