Feature(s) requests for recurring topics

So I'm on Tildes less often these days so I'm not keeping up with certain things as much as I used to. In particular, I really like the recurring "What games are you playing" topics but I'm often not noticing them in my skimming of the front page, especially if I haven't checked in in a day or two and it's not near the top.

So what if there was a feature, specifically for recurring topics, to subscribe to them where it gives me a "New Instance of Weekly Topic" notification in the same was as the "New Comment Reply" notification? It's probably not useful since we basically just have one recurring topic right now. But I'd honestly like to see more of these recurring topics, especially a "What are you listening to right now" one and even ones that automatically reoccur for TV shows (Episode 1, Episode 2, etc.) rather than an open thread.

I love the idea! What do you mean by that? We have: TV Tuesdays Free Talk What are you reading these days? What programming/technical projects have you been working on? Fortnightly Programming Q&A...

(And possibly more, but I got tired of clicking every category and finding them.)

You know when I clicked on the "recurring.weekly" tag I think it only popped up the recurring threads within ~games so I got confused.

I think a general concept of "followed topics" would be good so that people can get notified of replies in them, without it needing to be direct replies to one of their own comments. Being able to auto-follow any new scheduled topics in a series would be a good part of that.

For now though, you can always easily find the most recent "what have you been playing?" thread by going to ~games and clicking its title in the "Recurring scheduled topics" section of the sidebar. That will always go to the newest one.

Related Gitlab issue that following of recurring topics idea could probably be included in: Add ability to "watch" topics (or individual comment threads?) and get a notification on replies
