Really good!
My COVID-specific anxiety and my anxiety in general have ebbed significantly, and work is better than it ever has been. Feeling more at ease overall also means I’m not dropping lengthy, strongly worded comments on people’s heads here nearly as often, which is undoubtedly better for everyone (myself included).
I’m finishing up some grad courses that will give me a big raise help me keep up with inflation next year, and my district isn’t striking but we are currently picketing. Some other high profile strikes have given us a bit more momentum than we normally have for contract negotiations though, so I’m hoping it resolves favorably and soon.
Even with that background though, I’m genuinely happy and content. My day to day life is a simple one. I go to work and help awesome kids become more awesome, then I go home and enjoy nights and weekends of quiet queer domesticity with my husband and our wonderful dog. We spend most of our time on our comfy couch, our pup snuggled up with one of both of us, parallel playing our own videogames of choice and watching somewhat trashy reality elimination shows.
It’s simple and unexciting, but it’s also cozy and wonderful — exactly the kind of life I always longed for as a young queer kid but never thought was actually available to people like me. I’m safe, contented, loved, and want for nothing. I consider myself very lucky. I wish what I have was easily attainable for anyone and everyone who wants it — especially the many queer people out there who for so long have been told that it wasn’t ours to have.
I hope you’re doing well. I’ve always seen you as the outgoing, bold foil (in a good way!) to my risk-averse, introverted self. I hope you’re continuing to have the social adventures you love and exciting experiences you want out of life. I hope you’re living a live off the couch, out loud, and shining brightly.
Also, I’m really happy that we get to see your light here again. 💜
You deserve every dollar, I hope you get the value you're worth. That does sound incredibly comf 💜 I'm pretty much only on the couch when I'm sick or when I can't find something better to do. But...

I'm pretty much only on the couch when I'm sick or when I can't find something better to do. But I love that you've found a comfortable life there, I've seen some really comfy couches in my lifetime, especially when someone else's lap is there to lay in

I was a long-time lurker on Tildes and did start to recognize OP's name and mostly enjoyed their contributions (but don't remember if I interacted with them directly), but tbh it rubbed me the wrong way that they really liked picking fights w/ the owner who is/was working overtime and greatly underpaid, essentially a volunteer. In hindsight I might have started participating in Tildes more the past year since it's been pretty drama-free which I really appreciate.
I'm not a prominent member of the community so my opinion isn't worth much but just saying: I really do hope the OP sticks around and contributes positively like their older posts. On the other hand I hope they do not stir up drama and if they have major issues around the site management maybe just take a breather instead of attacking. I like our low-drama Tildes.
I don't mean to dog-pile, but I'd feel uncomfortable not saying that I agree with the others; "hurling vitriol" is a very harsh reading. It generated tension to be sure, but as I remember it, the...
I don't mean to dog-pile, but I'd feel uncomfortable not saying that I agree with the others; "hurling vitriol" is a very harsh reading. It generated tension to be sure, but as I remember it, the things brought up were well-articulated and well-meaning. It wasn't drama for drama's sake, and it wasn't without merit.
Remember that avoiding any and all drama tends to mean tacitly enabling the status quo, by the way. Warts and all.
Hurling vitriol is a rather uncharitable interpretation. I'd more than happily copy the entire text here for transparency but I suspect Deimos wouldn't appreciate it. I have never had any issues...

I have never had any issues with him, but I have asked questions and requested transparency.
I like to think of this place as the place where everything is made up, the points don't matter and whose line is it anyway? Your voice is just as strong as anybody else's.

I don't mean to be flippant, but bloody hell, that year flew by. Maybe it's time I started keeping a diary! Welcome back Gaywallet, you've been missed.

Pretty good, busy. Usual adult stuff, except gayer
Oh, I was wondering why Tildes was so peaceful this past year. 😉
Welcome back.
Welcome back! I'm happy to see you here again, Gaywallet.

Now I'm curious to read it if that's the case.

Thanks, I appreciate the context.
There was no message but probably the last post I made
