What do you carry with you every day (excluding keys, wallet, and phone)?

For me it would be my pocket knife. I grew up on a farm where it's pretty important to have one and I never shook the habit. I don't use it often these days, but when I do need it it's really nice to simply have it on hand.

    A handkerchief. I got a stack of them as a baby-shower gift, and while the little ones were wee, it really came in handy. Now that they're older, I still carry one every day.

    They're useful in more situations than you'd think: glasses cleaner, laptop screen duster, first-aid kit, towel after sudden downpours, temporary lashing, face mask, lost-tooth (or other small treasure) holder, sweat mopper on the really hot days, emergency toilet paper (haven't had to use it for this, yet). Heck, you can even use it to blow your nose if you really need to.

    These are the every day, everywhere items. They fit in my pockets, or on my person.

    • Phone - Galaxy S10
    • Watch - Galaxy Watch
    • Headphones - Galaxy Buds (I guess I drank the samsung koolaid)
    • Wallet (very thin) - 4 cards, and a bit of cash
    • Keys - van key, house key, work key
    • Pocket Knife (10cm blade, Ontario Knife Company)
    • Pencil, usually a dixon tri conderoga
    • a couple sheets of paper, in case I want to sketch something
    • Sunglasses (Maui Jim Rose Gold Cook Pine Aviators)
    • Covid addition: stylish black mask

    Typical configuration is wallet and phone in my left pocket, keys, knife, pencil in my right pocket, watch on my wrist, sunglasses on my head, paper in one back pocket, mask in the other.

    I frequently also bring these items, though not as much since lockdown:

    • brown leather messenger bag
    • MacBook pro
    • two notebooks - one is my "dev notebook" and one is for sketching
    • power cord, dongle, macbook accoutrements
    • sunglasses case (it folds down quite small)
    • a deck of cards
    • a 165g Ultrastar
    • a water bottle
    • 3 pens (a sharpie pen, a uniball and a sharpie marker) and a couple more pencils
    • a comb and very small bit of beard balm

    This all fits in my brown messenger satchel.

        I don't think they're particularly large, and they fit in all the jeans / chinos / shorts that I wear most of the time.

        I think part of it is that I keep my wallet very small. A lot of people seem to have huge thick wallets that have everything in it. Mine has very little in it, and the material is really thin (waterproof paper). The most ungainly thing right now is the addition of the earbuds, which just don't quite mesh anywhere other than the right hand pocket.

        I'm also adding in a 178g Aviar (Disc Golf Putter) to my satchel when I bring it. I might take out the Ultrastar because I haven't played ultimate since last year and the only people I play with are my family and we can just plan to bring one with when relevant.

    Rarely carry keys: most of the time I leave the house unlocked. Hate carrying a phone, leave that at home when I possibly can (and it's a dumb phone if I do carry one). Rarely take wallet, just a debit card. A tiny tube of lip balm. Quite often a dog poo bag, but that's more incidental than deliberate.

    My backpack with all the school material being a few books for me to write stuff in separated by school subject, a few "handouts" ("apostila" , Google translated) for stuff to be written in and the "case/pencil case" (Google translate for "estojo") to write stuff in.

    A few notes of cash, usually to buy groceries for my parents. (I'm a 14-yo teenager and I don't have a wallet so I'm technically correct. Eat scraps ni🅱🅱a.)

    There's also my glasses and a mask, but the mask is temporary and my glasses are much like a wallet or keys to me.

    Other than for those two things and the stuff in the title? I don't really go outside. I don't have friends, dates or a job, and now I don't have school either so why would I want to go outside?

    I don't even carry most of those things unless I know I'm going to need them. Given my wife works from home now I rarely need my keys unless we're both going out. Almost all my shopping is online so I usually don't need my wallet (and not having it means I'm less likely to buy snacks and get fat). My phone almost always but occasionally not.

    Other things I might carry - headphones sometimes. Heart rate monitor if I'm cycling but that's a wearable so does that count? Camera bag if I'm going somewhere new or interesting (which at the moment is almost never). I'm very much a minimalist when it comes to the contents of my pockets and bags, I'm always trying to reduce the amount of stuff I'm carrying. I'll only take things I know I'll need, and when I'm packing my camera bag I'll generally choose only a couple of lenses rather than take everything.

    The Kid, on the other hand, has a shedload of stuff in his EDC setup, including but not limited to several complete changes of clothing, nappies, wipes, toys, snacks, drink, books, drybags, hairbrush, suncream, hat, more snacks, extra shoes, changing mat, a selection of Important Sticks and Interesting Stones.

    Every day I carry in my pocket (if I'm wearing jeans, then the small pocket) a USB stick, which I basically use as a replacement for cloud sync.

    On most of my personal computers, I have a folder called Sync which I synchronize with a Sync folder on the USB drive. I usually use Microsoft's SyncToy program for this, although I'm looking for something that can constantly watch a directory for changes and queue transfers until the USB drive is inserted; might have to write that program myself.

    But otherwise, it works really well: in terms of storage, you get 16, 32, whatever gigabytes (there are even flash drives with one terabyte of storage!) for a one time fee, and you never need an internet connection. You can access to your files on any computer that has a USB port.

    Only drawback might be FAT32, which has a max file size of 4 gigabytes. But I suppose you could also use NTFS, seeing as how it's reasonably supported by most systems today.

    Headphones (AirPods Pro) and a chapstick (burt’s bees standard peppermint). That’s about it. I try and reduce what I carry every day. My wallet is pretty slim (flowfold). I have tried to reduce the number of keys that I have to carry with little effect. I would love to get a smart lock and ditch a house key, but they are expensive, and I am not sure my roomie would appreciate it.

    Edit: and a watch. Currently an Apple Watch s3 Nike ceramic LTE.

    Wallet and keys are both clipped to a large carabiner that I hang from my belt, together with a "glasses repairing kit" with a few screwdriver bits (PH00/2.5 mm, PH0/3 mm, PH1/4 mm). These go in my right pocket, sometimes with a pen.

    If I'm wearing pants with a coin pocket, that's where I put an €1 coin - I pretty much only use physical money for shopping carts, these days - and my hair ties, otherwise they go in the left pocket, together with my phone, a pack of tissues, and a flashlight.

    I pretty much always have these things on me, even when just bringing the trash out. If I will have to be out for longer, I will also have my backpack with me.

    It's pretty large - I bought it so I could carry my groceries on my back, instead of having to carry flimsy plastic bags around - and, at a bare minimum, it contains:

    • even more tissues, and some wet wipes;
    • a folding cup and spork, for emergency ice cream eating;
    • assorted snacks;
    • a bottle of water (plastic in winter, an half-liter thermos in summer);
    • an umbrella in one of the side pockets;
    • writing implements and a notebook of some sort;
    • hand sanitizer, spare mask(s), nitrile gloves;
    • sunscreen and a hat in summer, scarf and beanie in winter;
    • a pouch with more pens, meds for three days, a 16 GB USB stick, a 10 Ah powerbank, an USB-A to microUSB cable, small folding pliers, a screwdriver, electrical tape, chapstick, hair ties, hair pins, a comb, a small mirror, and some band-aids.

    Oh, I guess my vivosmart 4 is an "everyday carry." And I recently bought these CVJ-CSN headphones that I've been walking around with pretty regularly.
