For those who missed it in the previous thread, the dynmap transport stops layer now shows drawn lines for the entire network!
I made some neat screenshots this week, but am currently on my phone. So I'll post those later.
Really cool that it shows the lines for the network. It was what I hoped that dynamap could do for the transit system, so I am glad it can, and that you found out how.
Had fun on the server past couple days! @TaylorSwiftsPickles showed me a giant region filled with mushrooms. It was impressive, and scary in some ways. We took a boat ride on the blue ice, which was extremely fast (80 blocks per second?) and caused error messages in my mods. Also they fed me some baked potatoes. Very gracious! I felt bad making them stay up late for the personal tour.
Later on, a group of us were gathered in town chatting. I spilled a water bucket and then clumsily cleaned up while @teaearlgraycold stood by and watched. Thanks.
I also built an enclosure that I dubbed my "ball bit minus the balls." Haphazard mix-and-match wood types under a cherry blossom canopy. It keeps out the rain at least! Logging in today, I discovered that @GravySleeve had contributed some balls. The pit looks better now.
A jungle adventure went south when I tried visiting @nemo's house near the volcano. I fell off the cliff when my elytra failed to fully activate, and then fell off another cliff after respawning in town. The transit hub in town is too hard to find! I finally bookmarked it on my map (-42, 125). Thankfully my loot was still there a half hour later when I got back to the jungle. Never again!
It's how you learn! And I believe there were 3 or so of us supervising the operation.
I was supervising, it felt like important work that it needed supervision
I was also supervising. The work was satisfactory, but I just gotta take a second to commend the other supervisors for their excellent supervisory abilities. I don't think @talklittle was unsupervised for a moment!

Oh I didn't know you took screenshots! :P
For transit you can use dynmap and enable the transport stops layer. Should make it easier to figure out lines and stations :)
Oh! Dynmap works great. I'll keep a browser tab open in the future. Nice tip.
I think the transit hub being a bit hard to find may be something we as a server need to consider. I know when I started using the transit hub, it took me a bit to figure out where it was. When I was struggling to locate it once I knew the rough area, I always felt like it needed to be taller. This is a good reminder that for newer players to the server, our transit hub may be hard to find. Although the more prominent town central station may help a bit on this.
Maybe we can make it more visible, also place a few more signs for direction here and there for obvious stuff. But there is only so much you can do, I think we already do alright.
Imho the best thing we can do is making people aware of dynamp as much as possible as most things can fairly easily be found on there.
On that note, I have added a few more farms and such yesterday. If I missed anything people should feel free to ping me here or on the server, I'll gladly add them to the map.
1st log after around 2 weeks on the server. Everyone's been very warm and welcoming, thanks.
Built a small shack as a base of operations way south of town, next one is a Suikoden-2-inspired Inn in the forest nearby, it is about 80% done, still need to put in the interiors, decorate the pathway, and rearrange some trees. Progress has been rather slow because I got distracted importing a camel to town and spent an embarassing amount of time looking for lilies to put in front of the inn.
Plans for the future are to use some of the newer building blocks, and maybe put a small estate on the outskirts of the forest.
Sidenote: Apperently Glow Lichens leave a small footprint can be put inside water, and it gives off just the perfect amount of light. They are my favourite thing on minecraft now, and I'm mob-proofing the forest with them (mostly).
Your shack and Inn look good! I should make my way over again :)
I love it. Looks amazing with shaders.
I'm definitely going to check out your inn next time I'm on. It looks lovely. What shaders/resource pack are you using BTW? They look so clean.
Thanks!, it's always nice to have a visitor. Also check it out at night, I spent days subtly lighting up the forest around it.
The shader is Complementary Reimagined, with bloom turned off and the stay true resource pack
I also use Stay True, so maybe that's why it looks so
goodinviting to me. :)I never thought to turn off bloom! Shaders always seemed too "soft and fuzzy" to me, and this fixed it for me. Tysm. :)
innviting, even?
Got a nice night shot of my End Temple I wanted to share:
https://duenas.dev/shared/end-temple/2024-10-29_09.22.11.png
What does everyone think about a weekly build competition inside of our weekly Tildes threads? I'm thinking builders would submit one screenshot of their own build.
We could either do it simply and have players submit builds completed last week and vote right there in the thread using normal Tildes votes. Or we could be more formal and collect screenshots one week and vote on them the next week (perhaps with Strawpoll).
I like the idea, a few thoughts and additions:
I agree with all of this. Particularly the once per month idea instead of weekly. I spend more time than most on the server, and I think even I would feel rushed if we did it weekly. Biweekly or monthly would definitely be better.
Sounds like a good idea to me. People are building cool things that should get more exposure. Weekly feels frequent—but on the other hand that may be a positive thing, as it encourages people to Just Build It instead of overthinking.
I'm partial to Tildes voting. However if we care a lot about fairness and hidden scores (I'm not sure if we do), it might have to be Strawpoll or similar, since Tildes contest mode requires manual intervention from the admin.
What are the prizes?
As someone who was on the server when this conversation started, I want to bring up some points that were discussed:
If we indeed do this, shaders should be "banned" from the screenshots of these builds, because they give an unfair advantage to people with beefy-enough computers to run them, by making their builds more photogenic. We probably should also require that the texture pack used is the vanilla one, for standardisation reasons.
Good point, alternatively we could actually have people submit their build and then have one person make the screenshot?
I am a good majority of the way through building a ghast farm. It should not create loose ghasts, but it does have the potential currently to spawn ghasts that can shoot if you are nearby. There isn't much in the area nearby, so nobody should stumble across it. The coords are at 80, 400 on the nether roof (south of town's portal) so just try to avoid that area until I finish the spawner and enclose it.
For anyone that likes the excitement of being jump-scared by a ghast, but without the danger, allow me to recommend @GravySleeve's haunted house!
Something fishy is going on in Tildetown...
No worries, I'm training an army to keep things under control!
Thanks for welcoming me to the server and I promise, that hole I made in the jungle plateau will finish becoming a house and garden soon.
Just one question: can we not tame ocelots anymore?
Tame? no. But you can gain trust. From the Minecraft wiki (source link):
Regular cats are in the game, however. Those can be tamed with raw fish and will follow you (and bring you gifts!).
I had promised some screenshots, so here they are:
Made some more screenshots yesterday I wanted to share:
The potion lab is now operational. I am short on some ingredients, so not everything is stocked (my plan is to stock each potion with 1 stack of ingredients). I have added an ingredients donation box, where people can add stuff to be used for stocking the brewer. There will be instructions posted on usage (press the button, and it brews that potion again) and maintenance (so that the brewer does not rely solely on me) hopefully soon.
I also need to decorate both the brewing room and continue designing the diner above.Potions currently out of stock:
Leaping (rabbits feet) (currently have some rabbits for breeding at 970, -1390 (near the witch farm))Water breathing (pufferfish)Slow falling (phantom membrane)Wind charging (breeze rods)Weaving (cobwebs)Things to add:
Undecorated brewing room: https://imgur.com/a/mTNgJA1 (you should come check it out now)
Edit: I forgot to add, if you need potions, feel free to grab some, as the machines are working. It is in the terracotta abandoned house just south of the transit hub. The brewing lab is in the basement, behind the counter there is the door to the storage room. The stairs down to the brewing lab is in the storage room. If the potions are not labelled out of stock, press the button to brew a fresh three bottles (do not spam the button, wait for it to finish brewing).
Bonemeal farm is complete. It behaves slightly differently on the server than in my test world, but 99% of the time it's fine. I added some signs for debugging the most common problem I noticed (items other than bonemeal entering the crafter). Once warmed up (takes a few seconds), it produces about a bone block per second, which equates to something like 32k bonemeal per hour. :)
Portal is at -62 -72 on the nether roof.
After much searching I finally found an instance of my favorite Terralith biome, the Mirage Isles. It's located in the Northeast of the map, and in person it is quite lovely. It's special because no hostile mobs spawn there (like vanilla mushroom islands), it has one of the prettiest foliage colors IMO, and the air actually sparkles! Some screenshots:
Aerial shot
Sparkles
I claimed the big island in front on the aerial shot, and I think I'll build a nice house on the plateau I cleared. The smaller island is unclaimed, and anyone is welcome to join me. I have a portal on the nether roof at 538 -433.
I did a little survey and have some ideas in mind. But for starters, I feel like it would be nice to connect the islands somehow. Maybe do something like hanging walkways between them using icebergs as intermediaries?
(not my design btw did some googling and found this video.
edit: I probably like this more, you can fall through but it is walkable
Yes! I'm all for adding some rope-bridge-style paths if we can make the span work. :)
It'll fit in nicely with the fantasy style cottage build I have planned.
Alright, I'll try to figure something out then :)
Probably going for an oak version
Couple of brainstorms I had for the bridge:
Feel free to use or ignore these as you see fit. 🙂
Both good suggestions :) Doused campfires is a resource I keep forgetting about as a good slab alternative.
For light I feel like glowberries can work when the bridges cross into the island biomes. I am not sure what to think about them above ice.
Soul lanterns on long chains maybe to match the cool vibe?
Also I'd like to apologize in advance for setting you down the path of mass crafting campfires... they are WAY more expensive than slabs. 😬
Oh that might work :) I am going to finish the walkways first in pristine shape and then experiment a bit more with lights and weathering.
Also, if you feel like it, feel free to experiment a bit yourself. You certainly have a better eye for detail than I have with this sort of thing :)
You are too kind. Most of it is just guesswork, fiddling, and entirely too many hours in a block game. :)
Both the patience to do so and experience gained are things I value :)
Lichen work quite well, it is a good start
Could maybe mix trapdoors into the mix as well!
I did, couldn't get a result I was happy with.
Aww, our version is so small and cute :D
I might join you actually. Seems like a fun challenge to build something there, are maybe above it. I haven't built an airship yet on this server :)
I was planning on making the nether roof tower a second home. But, while the slides are fun they are impractical and I am struggling to make a practical interior design.
The Cubic Cabana has its first actual jungle villager resident! Look at this cute little hamburger:
https://ibb.co/sKPHX2Z
@GravySleeve I know how you love Glow Lichen in favor of torches, so I made a change to the Cyan line ;)
Beautiful!
Been working on a End-inspired temple on my floating islands way out east. My goal was to only use materials farmed in The End, and with the exception of some glow lichen (to subtly light some dark corners), it's gone really well so far.

Looks good so far! Did pay it a quick visit and the only thing "missing" from the experience is shulkers harassing you :D
@teaearlgraycold Just learned there is a server plugin for DH. Not sure how mature it is, but figured I'd bring it to your attention: https://gitlab.com/distant-horizons-team/distant-horizons-server-plugin
I'll try it out later today.
Edit: I expect this might require a development build of the client plugin as the server plugin repo is newer than the newest client plugin version.
Edit 2: It'll be installed at the next server reboot.
You can try this out now.
I am not sure if it is working. It can be that my expectations are too high, I was thinking I would get LOD data for stuff I had not yet explored. That clearly isn't happening. I also see no other indication in the logs or elsewhere that new LOD data is being transmitted.
Looking at the readme in the repo I still think it is supposed to transmit LOD data for everything. I did update to the latest version of DH as well.
Which version of DH? Like I said, you probably need to install a development build from their GitLab repo.
The latest release from september, I'll check out the repo itself today and compile from source to see if that does work.
But given that the server plugin has releases going back to May (it was on github first) I'd think it would work. I'll do some more testing though and will let you know.
Edit:
Looks like you do indeed need the dev version. I'll do a bit more testing.
Edit2: Alright, seems to work fairly well all things considered. It seems to completely ignore my current DH cache which did initially made me think the dev build is broken. However, it then starts to load in the LOD data slowly filling up my horizons and the result is pretty amazing.
I am probably going to switch back to the regular DH but am pretty excited for this coming to the regular release!
@teaearlgraycold One thing that did occur to me. Do you maybe want to do a little bit of load impact testing to see how this affects the server? I have the compiled mod sitting around now so it would be fairly easy for me to just fly around in a few areas I know I haven't been and then compare that to regular DH without a server connection.
Would this be something that individual players can toggle off? I tried DH probably a month ago, and while my computer could handle it, I was not a fan of it (primarily due to lack of anti-aliasing).
Just don't install the client side plugin and you'll be fine.
I would like to take this moment to point out that i am completely pro-aliasing. Everybody should be able to alias however they want as long as it doesn't hurt other people
If you don't have DH enabled, I don't think this will affect you.
I followed @teaearlgraycold's advice and used the logicalincrements website to put a computer together. I picked the Very Good tier and upgraded a few things since a lot of the items in the Great tier list were sold out. I know these items were chosen to go together so everything should be compatible, but do any of you more technically minded people see any issues with the items I've picked? Total price: $866 USD (good deal?) Also, I won't be paying M$ for their shitty OS, any issues running Linux Mint on this you think?
GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600
CPU: Intel Core i5-13400F
CPU Fan: Pure Rock 2
MOBO: Gigabyte B760M DS3H AX
RAM: Crucial 32GB DDR5 5600 For the RAM, logicalincrements recommended this 16GB stickinstead, but I was recommended by @creesch to upgrade to 32GB.RAM: Team T-Force Vulcan 32GB (2 x 16GB)
SSD/HDD: I already have two SSD's I can install and several HDDs for my media, so no purchases for this.
Power: EVGA 650GQPower: EVGA 750w
CASE: Antec Dark League DF600 FLUX
Edit: Made changes to RAM and PSU based on @Evie and @Mendanbar's recommendations. I assume the RAM choice is ok?
Edit 2: Order is in! Should all arrive by Nov 5th! :D
I use a build that's almost identical to this one, except I'm still on an AM4 CPU. Most everything looks good here at a glance, just a couple recommendations. I'd look for a 32gb RAM kit with two 16gb sticks instead of just the one big one, since running RAM in a dual channel configuration is a good bit faster iirc. I'd also think about going for a 750w PSU; with the high draw of newer components it's just better for upgradability and I found that when I switched to the 7600 GPU my 650w PSU couldn't keep up. Technically it should be enough but I had some issues.
If you like to live dangerously you could get a used GPU. No need to go used on anything else, but the GPU will have the biggest impact on your performance in games. You might get another 50% boost to FPS by buying used.
If the old wisdom holds true, you generally want to use AMD cards on Linux gaming PCs. So you're going to be fine.
This is dependent on the type of game, fwiw. Sincerely, someone who plays a lot of simulation games and has a GPU that barely ever has to work hard and a CPU that's begging for mercy lol.
My only loose recommendation would be to consider upgrading to the 750W version of the PSU. You can probably get by with the 650, but PSUs tend to be pretty long lived, so buying extra could get you through several upgrades. Also, it looks like the 750 is actually cheaper than the 650 via your link??
I took matters into my own hands and erected a big T on top of the Transit hub. I made sure it's visible from the town message board: It's the stone T with 6 torches on top.
If I knew how to, I'd probably have used different materials. I'd also be okay with the transit hub building itself being enlarged for visibility.
Like the initiative, not a fan of how it looks, but that can be fixed ;)
@GravySleeve can we maybe enlarge a boat and cart on an armor stand on top of a pole? Like the big villager at the trading hall. Or something like that? I feel like that might work better than a letter would.
If you don't know where to get various materials. Community storage is a good way to start :) I also keep the minecraft wiki on hand often to look into building materials and where to get them. For a bunch of them, we also have community farms.
Honestly, I feel like the huge, massive buildings just for the sake of them being visible don't really belong in the town center. So, I wouldn't be a fan of that. Bront and I have discussed some options of enlarging the hub if the need arrives, but that wasn't with the idea to make it more visible.
I think I mentioned it elsewhere, there is only so much you can do to have newer players notice things. A new server full of builds will just be overwhelming and confusing. As an example, when you joined, how much attention did you pay to all the various signs? Or when seeing a big T would you immediately think "Oh that is a Transit hub!" or possibly make a mental note to maybe check it out before moving on? As an actual example, on the minimap did you notice the big "M" for metro ;)
We can do better, I believe, with making people aware of dynmap like I did with you
lastearlier this week. As it will actually help players navigate the world much better than signs can do.Well... I am not entirely sure I like my attempt that much better, but it sure draws attention :D I do like it at night
@GravySleeve I figured out a bit of armor stand magic for this! Turns out it is both easier and trickier than I though. The pointer wand helps but a lot of it still is a bit finnicky :P Probably still going to take you up on that offer.
Edit:
Also placed this sign at the town square: https://www.creesch.com/dump/img/img_57218a067ff4e2e6d20c0a1647796e9102afa5fb.jpg
I fixed up the Metro signage!
Nice upgrade! It looks a lot better than my first try, when you're standing at the transit hub building. The new signs leading from town square are very helpful.
Ha! Looks pretty good to me! I'll see if it needs any little tweaks once I'm in game.
I think there is two separate issues in making the transit hub findable, and you may be confusing the first with the second.
For the first, the solution is definitely dynamap, and encourage them to use it. A giant "T" will not help them find the transit hub, and not encourage them to investigate. Also, a taller building will not help this first group. However, talklittle is in the second group, and is trying to make the period of being in the second group easier. As I did not help build the transit hub, there was a period where I was in the second group, and I felt that making it taller would make it easier to find. Over time, I learned that area of town, so I eventually could navigate to the transit hub easily, this stopped being a concern of mine. This is also something to consider right now, as we have a bit of an influx of new or returning players.
No worries, it's now painfully obvious (/j)
I get the point, but that is true for so many things within and around town. As I said, I am not against making things easier to find, otherwise I would have said no to the T outright.
What I do have have some reservations against is making buildings like that big so they stand out more, while that might not fit the overall look of the area.
The town center itself very much still has smaller town vibes so having a huge transit hub simply wouldn't fit. In fact it would likely overshadow a few of the neat builds nearby. So I simply favor other means to make people familiar with the area.
@GravySleeve how is this for a hall of heroes statue? ;) Leaned a bit into the lore @TaylorSwiftsPickles created about me :P
I might have to try adding some wings made of Quartz or something.
Edit: It is done!
I just checked out the haunted house @GravySleeve , it looks great! I love the special effects and the maze in the back.
Oooh, I need to check out the maze.
It isn't done!
Thanks! The maze isn't quite done yet. Need more bonemeal!
There are currently about four stacks of bone meal blocks in the chest just outside the moss farm.
Someone asked about phantom spawning rules in the Shdowlands (terralith/nullscape biome in the end). I dug into the code a bit and have some info.
As far as I can tell, there aren't many special rules. I've copied the relevant nullscape datapack section below. Phantoms basically spawn about half as often as enderman in Shadowlands biome, and only in groups of 1 (vs 4 for enderman).
Other than that detail, I think the normal rules apply. I would guess that means that they still need sky access and sufficient space (hitbox) to spawn.
I wonder if they need a solid block below to spawn. If not, it might be possible to cause only phantoms to spawn in an area and effectively start to create a farm.
That was probably me asking, as I was trying to get phantom membranes. It seems like they spawn kind of just hovering the ground like a normal mob, and once they aggro onto you, they behave normally
If Shadowlands is the end biome with all the dead coral, I've had phantoms spawn underground in giant caves I was digging when gathering dead coral. So they certainly don't need sky access there.
It is the biome with the dead coral. Reading through the code mendanbar posted, and with my experience, it seems like they spawn the same as endermen, not like phantoms in vanilla
That's good information. It might be possible then to build spawning platforms sufficiently close together so that enderman don't spawn, and phantoms do. Then the only question would be killing mechanism.
I wonder if they aggro on golems.🤔Edit: Thought about this some more and I don't think I've ever seen a phantom fighting a golem.
Yeah, making the spawning platforms only 2 blocks high may make for a sufficient spawner, but the killing mechanism may be tricky. The other question is would the farm get much usage? I feel like there are other farms we could use more than phantom membranes
yes, very true.
Might be more time efficient to just wander around the end with a Smite/Looting sword and call it a day. :D
How about a snow golem? Should be possible in the End.
The Mirage Isles are coming along nicely:
https://ibb.co/KFGGqtd
https://ibb.co/gJ5ZyYN
https://ibb.co/rpyZjSV
Thanks to @creesch for connecting everything via bridge (and for being my partner in
crimemagic). :)Yup, coming along very nicely indeed! I am still detailing the mushroom watch tower and the cellar I build next to it, I'll share some screenshots of that later.
I also still want to expand the walkways to surround the big island or at the very least give access to the cave.
Oh, I was wondering if this is now and island nation. If so, what should we name it?
Something like the... sovereign isles of .... something?
Or maybe we are more of a commonwealth?
Something referencing our idyllic isles amidst a frosted wasteland?
I don't have much in the way of inspiration for the name, but this is the first time I've considered that maybe the surroundings are a wasteland because our islands are so idyllic. Perhaps the magic required to keep our islands serene "steals" energy from the surrounding land?
Are we the bad guys?
Surely not, we bring light and prosperity to these lands. These surrounding oceans have always been frozen wastes, and any legend that say otherwise is just state opposition propaganda. Sure, my late great-great-grandmother at the end of her day told a story about a time when there was no ice on the ocean. But she was old and senile, can't put too much weight in stories like that.
So, here are some names I came up with ;)
Edit:
If we really wanted to lean into it, we could also go for something slightly more obvious:
I like this one. It's just ambiguous enough. ;)
Awesome, it is settled then! :D
I don't like the top of my tower. What I was originally envisioning was similar to what you have there... I may need to steal of of those techniques.
Ha, I stole the top of mine from a reddit post, which apparently stole from Goodtimeswithscar. :)
I also have a schematic of my version if you want it.
Edit: Also I like the idea that the lore of our two towers might somehow be connected.
Finally decided I should upload some screenshots of my own!
Volcano Base:
The approach to the volcano via the Cyan Line prominently displays the dangers of traveling nearby!
This is the location for changeover to the rail line into the volcano.
The view as you approach the volcano's entrance.
There's a secret entrance inside this cave which is occupied by a drunken vagrant.
A couple pics of the exterior of the volcano.
A few pics of the interior of the volcano.
Some pics of the minecart tour.
Night shots. The volcano has erupted!
My buddies Andrew, Tom, and Tobey.
My allay xp farm, my incinerator and dogs, my work area with map, and my turtle farm.
Other stuff:
The Hall of Heroes
Godzilla! Can't remember who made this, but it's awesome.
@eyechoirs built this amazing arena! I hope they come back soon cause I wanna try it!
Transporting some ocelots!
Transporting some armadillos!
Baby turtles are the cutest mob in the game.
Wrangling the Warden wasn't too difficult, but giving him a hug did not work!
Warden on the roof!
Riding this guy up a lava column was
coolvery hot.Found this neat underground mushroom biome a while back.
Bastion at the end of the world. Over a dozen raided and no Pigstep disc. :(
A mysterious thing happened with the dragon egg in town a while back. It seemed to have teleported away from its pedestal.
So that's where all of my Mai Tai's have been going!
That was me! :) It's actually a real 3D model of the 2014 Godzilla that I converted to blocks and hand edited in creative. Pretty happy with how it came across (especially the eyes).
I have been meaning to mount so kind of defense against Godzilla. Someone else already placed a "force field" but I have some additional ideas. Not going to be a big King Kong though. I'll leave that to someone else.
Well you know... Gamera is a friend to all children. ;)
Nice set of screenshots! Also nice to see it from a different perspective without shaders :D Although I do get the sense you do have something installed that does improve light somewhat? Last time I checked with shaders off, I didn't get light fall from sources like I am seeing in your screenshots. Though that might just be my vanilla settings.
I'll double check, but I don't think I have any mods installed that effect lighting. I do keep my brightness level pretty low, so maybe the blocks just seem brighter by comparison?
I looked at this article for visual mods: https://screenrant.com/minecraft-best-visual-mods-install-guide/ (from 2020).
I suppose I'll try something like CreatorPack and Dramatic Skys this weekend. Hopefully won't mess up the style of the stuff people here have built.
Here's more updated for 2024: https://www.pcgamesn.com/minecraft/minecraft-shaders-best-graphics-mods — Funny to see AAA graphics effects in Minecraft. Looks like there's a lot to play around with, and I'm sure performance will be a big consideration.
Oh if you want visual mods and stuff I can highly recommend the following:
To be able to run shaders, Iris. I also threw in Sodium and Lithium as these help with performance (might also be an iris requirement, I forgot :P )
Distant horizons does exactly what the name implies:
As far as shaders go, I highly recommend:
For textures I personally just go with faithfull 32x
Also I highly recommend ambient sounds for a more alive world:
While we are at it, to make mod settings easier to manage. Like turning the default volume of Ambient sounds down to 0.2 ;)
If you want to have an impression of how that all comes together you can have a look at the screenshots I have posted in previous threads, for example the ones in this comment.
The lighting and water surface look incredible with those shaders! Thanks!
I'm on the fence about Distant Horizons because it adds some lag and error messages when traveling too fast, like riding a boat on the blue ice. It is quite helpful seeing distant landmarks though.
I really like the ambient sounds too, at 0.2 volume. Pleasant bird chirps and wind.
Wow thanks for writing this out! I did notice your screenshots have fantastic lighting. I'll check out some of these this weekend.
Back from travel, so I was able to hop on and check on the moss farm that was having some trouble last week. All seems to be working as designed once more, thanks to everyone else chipping in. As noted, the single hopper line to the overflow bonemeal composter is a bottleneck/design flaw. I'm already scoping out a location for a proper bonemeal farm, and I'll try to get it built in the next few days.
If we were to update to 1.21.2, we'd get access to the new ender pearl chunkloading mechanic, which might be pretty awesome.
I’m waiting for paper to update.
Ah, yeah makes sense. I was thinking we might want to make sure some of the more popular mods have updated as well.
@mintysaurus For some reason, the observer at the sand duper doesn't eat the block anymore. The duper still seems to work fine if you just remove the block and continue the rest of the steps as normal. I don't know if it will cause some problem long term, so I thought I'd give you a heads up.
@GravySleeve, I added a little something to your haunted mansion
Oh really! I'm scared already! :P
Do we have a source of wither roses yet? I am looking into creating a ghast farm, but the design I was looking at requires using wither roses
I don't think we have anything, but ianxofour has a super simple one using snow golems. I've used it before and I can 100% recommend.
Edit: Here's the link. Was on mobile before and didn't have the link handy.
I saw a marker on the roof for a wither rose farm... somewhere. I'd recommend checking the farm book at the bulletin board
Talon is right, we have one at -666, -888 in the end. It is in the public farms book but not the dynamap
Wish I had realized this sooner. I've been using a ton of black dye recently. :/
@teaearlgraycold after taking a break, which I should have done sooner, it does look better without the trees.
Found a new tree when I logged back in, appreciate the gesture :)
