This was a fun game. I got to 41 until I realized something and got incredibly distracted and ran out of time. I only got one that was specific enough to be a particular species.
I also love that it tells you if you failed to mention a common animal (I did not list horse).
What I realized
Listing different dog breeds does not give you extra animals but does give you increasingly funny and irate messages about how dogs are all the same.

I'm not sure how Elephant became the third animal I thought of, but I'd try to stay in one 'category' until something made me switch lanes. The stream of consciousness went something like:
Pets,
Livestock/seafood until I hit 'Shark',
Dangerous animals, until I hit 'Coyote', which reminded me of 'Dingo' (eliminating 'Dog' from my list)
Australian animals, which obviously led to
Venomous animals,
Insects, followed by
Big animals
Ending with whatever else I could think of and forgetting to back to the 'cold animals' tangent I wanted to go down after listing 'Polar Bear'.

Some specific things I noticed about how it works If you list general types of animals, then list a more specific type, it will sometimes strike out the general one and then give you credit for the specific one. For example, I put in monkey, then later i typed chimp and it didn't erase monkey, but then after i put in baboon and it did strike out monkey. I also put in snake, and then put in boa constrictor and rattlesnake, and neither of those got the original snake crossed out.
Also, it will take extinct species of animals too.
Notably, some don't have emojis and don't use general stand-ins, possibly explains why snake didn't get canceled out, boa constrictor and rattlesnake were guessed after the birds but before mouse/rat and there's not even a general snake emoji for them

Could not remember the word "cobra," although there's no guarantee it wouldn't just count that under "snake." It was kind of weird what counted as a more specific animal and what was its own category. I started off naming canines, and while "wild dog" wasn't accepted, "African wild dog" was.

I'm a terrible speller and the game was very forgiving. It gave me meercat, wilderbeast, and others. It corrected them for me and gave me the points.
