I'm interested in what this turns into. I think that Michael Bay is an interesting film maker; he has a real understanding of what makes a blockbuster, is great at movies that require spectacle, and usually has a solid soundtrack. All of those will serve this Skibidi Universe well.
With regards to the source material, I think that there are any number of movies that have ridiculous premises or terrible source material that turn into summer blockbuster fare that's just fine. I could see this going in an Attack of the Killer Tomatoes sort of direction, or more of a serious Transformersesque direction. I have seen at least two Skibidi toilet videos - a mere ripple in the extensive skibidi pond - and to be honest it seems like there's some backstory and possibility for movie to make it kind of... cool even?. Toilets with faces coming out of them vs people with cameras for heads sounds stupid when you write it down like that, but so does a plumber that doubles in size when he eats a mushroom trying to rescue a princess kidnapped by a giant turtle. Lots of things sound dumb until you interact with them and they're not.
I'm also going to recognize that Skibidi stuff just isn't aimed at me. I'm not the primary demographic, and while that seems a bit weird - I've been the primary demographic for most things for 30 years - I'm generally quite into a lot of other things where I haven't been the primary demographic. Loads of things get called out for being less good because the primary demographic isn't white dudes aged 15 - 45, and I'm, well, pretty sick of that.
I don't see myself going to the theatre to watch this, but I'll throw it on when it's available to stream, and honestly based on other Michael Bay movies, I'll probably enjoy it. I don't think Michael Bay is an auteur by any means, but he makes a lot of things that are fun to watch.
Edit: after writing this self-righteous BS, I told my son that they were making a Skibidi Toilet live action movie, and he said, and I quote, "That's a terrible idea. That will make a terrible movie."
As an older Gen Z/Zillennial it sometimes mystifies me how little I know the new slang that the younger Gen Z uses. I know it's part of growing older, but damn.

EDIT: having watched it, I think my comprehension is pretty high still at least! Hard to tell if that's because I've still got it or because Xiaoma mixed slang from Gen Z and Gen Alpha in that speech. Possibly both. Probably would have higher comprehension reading it written though, as I didn't really what "fr" was spoken out loud like that!
Also did not realize Xiaoma was older than me, he does not look 34 lol

I think I've only watched a handful of Xiaoma's videos over the years, and they've always been just Youtube algorithm suggestions. I didn't even recognize who I was watching at first because his usual videos are the more "on the street gotcha" style videos. I'm not really much of a fan of those, because his vibe is almost condescending at times. Sort of rubs me the wrong way.
I don't know, I won't see it in theatres unless I'm feeling goofy that day but it might be a good movie for a 'bad movie night.' I like a lot of the now-classic SyFy originals like Big Ass Spider!...

Hot take from a middle aged man: Skibidi Toilet is kinda good.
I'm not a fan or anything, but I initially thought it was just some stupid deep fried nonsense that kids either love ironically, or just think is funny because of loud noises and overstimulation, but I sat down and watched most of them, and it's really pretty entertaining.
A gigantic escalating war with more and more ridiculous innovations that eventually get countered, characters that are introduced and are killed, some sort of vague alliances that are formed. It's not as mindless and stupid as someone who casually saw a clip or two might think.
Would I sit down and watch through all of them again? No, probably not, but I can definitely see the appeal, and there are far stupider, less entertaining concepts that get real money thrown at them.
For me - no. I actually quite interested what will be the result. While Skibidi shorts does not have deep lore (apart of usual politics, espionage, war), I v-e-eery curious what can be a result of...

Can it be something like Kung Fury? Most probably no, but result can be interesting nonetheless.
Upd: I only hope that absurdist humor of original shorts will remain in a movie.

I don't think anyone would claim that they are wonderful cinema that contributed to the betterment of society in a meaningful way, but they were all 2 hours filled with car chases, explosions, and (for 6 Underground) parkour, and they were all kind of cool.
I'm so with you. I'm dying to see what comes out of this. If it's actually just a terrible movie I think it'll still be a statement. If its somehow actually coherent, never mind actually good,...

If its somehow actually coherent, never mind actually good, then we're really treading new waters here.
What's next? Do we make Italian brain rot into a movie?

My Gen Zed said “Selling.”
(That means bad.)

That one was new to me too. Being surrounded by college students usually keeps me in the loop. They go home for the summer and I'm already behind

But I did enjoy this one one quite a bit.
Yeah agreed, I don't like his normal content but this video was solid.

Reality is a construct of my mind. Apparently, I ran out of ideas a few years ago and have been Mad Libbing ever since.
This is proof of that, right?
I took the liberty of generating some events for the next six months
[Mel Gibson] will [nuke] the [Titanic]
[Louis CK] will [duel] the [Dalai Lama]
[Macaulay Culkin] will [seduce] the [UN Security Council]
The whole council?!
You'll see. You'll all see.
This is one of my favorite comments on Tildes.
Deploy the Exemplary then!
My money is on the Dalai Lama. And Macaulay Culkin.
Duel or seduce or both? I vote for both of course.
I've been doing mad libs with my kids for several months now. I think I prefer their reality TBH.

I think skibidi toilet was commercialized almost immediately. I don't think there will be much heartburn there.

A lot of people my age were into YouTube poop, and Skibidi Toilet certainly is no worse than those.
Maybe we'll get a thriller where the "Skibidi-killer" decapitates his victims and leaves them with their heads in toilets.
This is the worst timeline.
edit: please label as joke/noise/offtopic

Also, Michael Bay is really good. He makes a lot of crap, but he makes exactly the crap he wants. That's why he's taught in film school.

Don't forget Armageddon!!
I actually haven't seen that one. Nor Pearl Harbor. But they're likely worth mentioning!
Armageddon is my secret favorite movie. The plot is absurd, but I'm always in tears by the end.
Mine too…and the score (not the soundtrack) is exceptional!
Armageddon is the only Michael Bay movie in the Criterion Collection. I still have no idea how it ended up there, but it seems noteworthy nonetheless.
