How did we reach 7 billion people without informing/educating all about how we really live?

[M/29/small town India, English isn't my first language]
I'll admit to being what is called a country bumpkin. The education I received was lacking in many ways, I wasn't taught about the real world, I never really thought about how the food on my plate was grown or how we plunder the living world for resources etc.
My question is, how did humanity reach 7 billion plus people without even paying a thought about educating the kids properly.
There is a bitter irony to the fact that we have all been convinced to use the word "growth" to describe what is ultimately a process of depletion and breakdown. tweet
If we are depleting the earth of all resources, how will coming generations live?
But if we don't grow, how can we progress?
Edit: Why can't we have good quality education for everyone and good quality healthcare for everyone on this planet?

Does there exist a function that does not include any trigonometric function in its definition that has similar properties (periodicity, for instance) as trigonometric functions? I can't think of any, and this strikes me as a bit surprising.
Edit: I thought of a simple answer: piecewise functions can achieve this!

Well, it was gonna happen eventually. I was gonna take another go on butter chicken! This time, I made the "better stovetop butter chicken" recipe from serious Eats! A world renowned food blog, I definitely expected something good to come out of it. And boy, I gotta tell ya, this recipe delivered in every way possible and THEN some !! This is what I love about cooking, being able to make something so delicious out of time and love. I wouldn't change much about it, other than I did salt it a little too much, and I think some jalapeños would give such a nice and beautiful contrast to the flavours ! The last butter chicken I did had them, and I feel like they're kind of missing here as a result. Honestly a flavour combo this good shouldn't even exist, it's insane. I am still shocked at it a few hours after hahahahah. Amazing recipe, definitely worth trying out !!!!
By the way, that flatbread there isn't naan, it's a sourdough pizza dough thing my dad made that we decided to make into flatbread with garlic butter. Very non traditional, but hey, it tastes great !

Recipe: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2020/03/stovetop-butter-chicken.htmlQuestion of the day: Have any of you tried dabbling in fermented foods lately? My dad and I have been trying to get a sourdough starter up and running and it’s been pretty tough, but a very fun process nonetheless hahahahah.
Have a great day <3

It's a miserable cold rainy afternoon. You need to wind down. You want to lie down on the couch, curl up under a blanket, drink a mug of cocoa/tea/chocolate, switch off, and spend a couple of hours just relaxing in front of a movie. You don't want something that will challenge you or make you think. Nothing new and exciting. It doesn't need to cheer you up, because you're not feeling depressed. You just want something that's going to make you feel cosy. Something familiar and comfortable and warm. You want an old favourite that you've seen so many times you can practically quote it word for word, so you don't even need to fully pay attention - but a movie that always makes you feel happy when you see it for the umpteenth time.
What movie do you put on?

By clicking this link and reading this topic, you find yourself under a grave and terrible thread. The only way to defend yourself here is to lower yourself to punitive measures, and engage in wordplay in mass corruption. All is fair in pun and warfare, but do remember your actions are your pwn, and that there are no winners here. Only broken arts, and shattered themes.

I'm starting a virtual campaign with some friends soon, and this is my first time making a DnD character (I have DMed once in the past when we were all starting out). I'm super excited and just kind of delving in now and finding all of it very fun.
We're going to be playing the Tombs of Annihilation campaign which I understand can be a difficult one for beginners. I am right now leaning towards making a Wizard character since I think that is most in line with my irl personality and would be easiest to roleplay, but I'm kind of overwhelmed by the options available to me!
Does anyone have tips on ways to stay organized and make sure I'm building a balanced character? Common pitfalls to avoid for a beginner? Tips for playing a wizard? I'm open to any and all suggestions, both about character design and newbie tips in general.
