I survived the certificate expiration of October 19th 2026 and all I got was to make a silly shitpost
How did you avoid withering away without your favorite social media?
How did you avoid withering away without your favorite social media?
I share some posts from my blog here, and almost all of them have a meta-discussion regarding “self-promotion”. The latest prompted me to bring up a proper meta-discussion on the subject.
Tildes' Code of Conduct says:
If you have your own site/project/channel/etc. that you'd like to share on Tildes, that's generally fine (in moderation), but it shouldn't be the primary reason that you post on the site. Tildes is a community, not a free advertising platform. Sharing your own content is welcome as long as you're involved in the community, but don't just treat Tildes as a source of an audience.
I guess we need to address what constitutes “moderation” and sharing one's own stuff as “primary reason”. Am I abusing this rule? If so, why? If not, what am I doing to avoid abusing it? (Using myself as a “control group” for the discussion; feel free to bring made up examples.)
As I said elsewhere, I like the discussions that happens here, try to engage in topics other than mine, and I share my blog posts candidly.
I have apparently hit the limit with how many gmail addresses I can open associated with my phone number.
and honestly, I hate that I have to rely on google for the various email addresses I need.
which makes me wonder, I own a domain. can I use that to instead setup various email addresses that i can use for different purposes, just as sending or receiving and when it comes to receiving, setup some inboxes so it forward to my personal email + a friend's email?
i don't really know the best options for this or even where to start. I originally bought my domain on namecheap but I migrated it over to cloudflare so I could use it for setting up cloudflare argo tunnels.
If you have more than one passion, try and pick the one you are... Most passionate about!
If you can't, then go for it, explain why you have more than one.
