Been working on my lodestone based GPS system, so added a lot of different builds today. The following bases are now included:

If your build has been added, this means that I have hidden a lodestone somewhere in your build (most are buried underground). If your build has not been included, feel free to add your place using the supplies at the Up! house in TildesTown.

For those who want to explore the server before shutdown, picking up a bundle of these lodestone compasses at the Up! house in TildesTown is a great way to do so.

    Message from TaylorSwiftsPickles:

    Esteemed tildos!

Following @GravySleeve's comment concerning the lack of a "hall of heroes" for this season, I decided to take the initiative to turn my own base into one massive "hall of heroes", scattered throughout my entire town.

You can now find an armour stand sculpture of yourself you've joined S3 for long enough for me to remember you being there (, or even if you didn't but you're my friend, because we love our nepotism in this house)! At present, you can find an armour stand for 45 or more individual players within my base.

You're welcome to explore, just please be mindful to not break any armour stands - please protect them from creepers, pillagers, and lightning strikes.

The Terralith structures are amazing. If/when this happens again, I'd request including that mod.

Also, once this is over I'd love to have access to the server files. The kiddos still periodically want to play older seasons and I'm sure this one will be no exception.

I saw that you'd edited the world to trim it down with MCA, which is probably what I would do as well. No pressure, but if you were ever to upload the world (modifications included), I'd grab it so there'd at least be another copy out there. It seems like there is some danger of the map being lost, so I figure another person archiving things couldn't hurt.

The season 2 world is comparatively massive, so I'll have to see if it's possible to trim that down for long-term storage, too. Might be a challenge!

I feel like this season was pretty good for me and I achieved a bit more than I set out to do. Ending S2, the two areas I wanted to improve was to get Community Storage better established and have a grander feeling transit hub. Since both are an early server build, I thought I would not have a chance to do both, so I focused on Comm. Storage.

Comm. Storage was a fun project to work on. I used mostly the same design I built last season. It is based off of docm77's Hermitcraft S10 storage system. Since the world download for S10 was available, I was able to copy his input system, which is part of where I had issues last season. I also modified his design a bit in areas and also included the non-stackable items wing. When I picked the location, I felt inspired to do a grand hotel, taking inspiration from the Lake Louise Hotel. So I built that for the exterior and I quite like how it turned out. Shelves add so many possibilities for detailing and they don't have the issue of viewing distance like signs. The interior was much harder to fit everything in. Ideally I would have had some grand staircases, but just couldn't fit those in due to all of the redstone. The decorative upstairs turned out well, and made for a fun base for myself. I had hoped to add in armour stands in the various hotel rooms that you can view through the windows (and access via the second floor) referencing events from previous seasons. However, I never got the motivation to do that.

Other smaller projects I have done include adding infrastructure around the flower farms, making the sulfur spike farm, and the Adventurer's Society in town.

As I was starting to plan out the transit stop for Comm. Storage in the basement, I realized that it would make a good transit hub since there currently was not one. This was my opportunity to make a grander feeling transit hub. So I quite enjoyed building that, although I would have preferred building it above ground. Having the transit hub also be comm. storage was quite convenient, and is something we should consider doing again.

I also configured the industrial district to set up a centralized storage location. Earlier in the season I wanted to connect comm. storage and the industrial district with a chunk loaded rail line so that items get automatically sent to comm. storage. However, storage should not be running during server restart, so that project was abandoned. So instead I created water pipes to collect all the farm outputs to one spot and then shulker loaded the output. The filter system here is what I call "the toilet bowl" as items continuously swirl until the hopper for that item has space. I did get to build in a more industrial warehouse vibe, and that was fun.

The last project I was working on was my floating village, near the willow tree west of town. I got a few houses in and was starting to refine the style a bit. However, shortly after starting it, the end of the season was announced. I wanted to get at least one more house exterior in before the server ended, but I lost motivation. I might revisit the style another time, since it was a lot of fun to work on.

Overall it was a good season for me, although a bit quieter than last season. Making my base be comm. storage was fun, although I realized I never really set myself up with a good standard inventory or an ender chest like I did in S2. I am glad I went with the iterative base project like I did last season, where I keep adding on to the same build throughout the season, but there is no clear finished state so that my main build does not look incomplete.

The community storage is still the most impressive build to me this season. I think this was also the first time we had a fully master planned hub station that was built with expansion in mind, which was cool to see. I remember the transit hub from last season that had a sort of awkward expansion as we added a second floor and the high speed ice line.

Since the server's shutting down tomorrow, I just wanted to thank everyone for an amazing season! This season was the first one where I tried to participate a bit more actively. In previous seasons, my IRL shyness translated to me building very minimally and just admiring what everyone else built. However, this time, I thought I'd actually build a bit more. I'm happy with the way my apartment building and the Vandelay Transport HQ buildings turned out and I had fun building out my little subway system that connected parts of the town with the main high-speed lines. I definitely took more from the community storage than I contributed back but I hope that's alright now lol. If there's a next season, I hope to see everyone back on there :)

I last played a vanilla world in 1.13, back in 2018, so this server has been a very fresh experience for me. I've otherwise always played modded worlds, which tend to focus more on tech and engineering. Vanilla has engineering too, but of a different variety. So it's been fun learning the different ways of accomplishing goals, and coming up with unique farm designs.

I've been trying to finish up a few final items at my group's base before the server is put out to pasture. I definitely didn't accomplish everything I Imagined at the start of this season, but I'm still really happy with our result.

Are there any thoughts on doing a server tour before we end things off? I've yet to do any real exploring, and am curious to know what others have been up too. I stumbled across a cool underground city just North of me this last week, and know there's a few other mega builds around.

Myself and @fuzzypickle9 did a server tour this week, thanks to the convenient compass packs provided by @IsildursBane. It was fun to explore the world and see what others had built.

I have to say, the scale of some of these projects is monumental. You folks have really outdone yourselves. I also love how everybody has their own building style, and I felt like I started to get a feel for each builder's personality as I explored.

Here are some standouts that I ran across. I'm sorry if I missed yours -- it'd be too long to mention everybody.

      • The Egyptian build by @j0hn1215, our Nether-neighbour. The wall art is super cool, and I love how you used tight spaces as part of the aesthetic.
      • Poland by @TaylorSwiftsPickles. The immensity of this build is overwhelming. I especially love the massive power lines and water treatment plant.
      • @Evie's nearby base, which is tight and cozy, and full of cool contraptions. That day/night music disc swapper was inspired. I also spotted some incredible map art on display.
      • @GravySleeve's flying city/amusement park. I rode the minecart track, did the chopper parkour, and had a blast exploring all the details. Just a delightful build all around.
      • The underground city by @Mendanbar has some great atmosphere. I actually explored this last week, and kinda-sorta broke the conveyor belt (sorry!). I spent an hour studying the redstone to fix it though, so all's well that ends well, right?
      • We didn't use any public farms this season, but I was very impressed by @Positive's guardian farm. The sound of it running can only be described as a jet taking off.
      • I grew concerned with @Jambo's ghast obsession, but was won over when I saw the little guy floating around.
      • @PunchTunnel's wacky corner base wasn't in the lodestone tour, but he showed it to me some months ago and I needed to revisit it before the server end. It oozes creativity in a way that leaves you feeling dazed and confused. I have no idea how you get your ideas, but I'll look to you if ever I need inspiration.
      • Tildes Town itself, for which I wandered for over an hour and am sure I still missed buildings. There were lots of standout builds, but my favourite was probably @Bront's lovely nature dome on a hill.

It's been a slice playing with everyone, and creating such a cool map in a collaborative fashion. Finally, my thanks to @teaearlgraycold for hosting the server all this time, and being gentle when he teleports inside of me.

Thanks for looking around and for the nice words! I really enjoyed my tour earlier this week too :)

I did check it out when adding the lodestones last week, and it was an interesting place but I just did not see enough that I felt it was worth adding to the system

No worries! I keep schematics of all of my builds so that I can repair them when the redstone inevitably bugs out on me. Glad you liked it. :)

The underground city by @Mendanbar[+] has some great atmosphere. I actually explored this last week, and kinda-sorta broke the conveyor belt (sorry!). I spent an hour studying the redstone to fix it though, so all's well that ends well, right?

If you're curious, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. There's a restart mechanism for the conveyor that activates when you initially pull the lever. However, it directly connects that lever to a sticky piston, which makes it vulnerable to leaving its block behind from a rapid pulse. So I think I accidentally double-clicked when turning it on, and that was how I broke it.

It is a super cool contraption, though, and I love how there's a scoop that comes by every so often. Great application of a piston tape.

I rode the minecart track, did the chopper parkour, and had a blast exploring all the details. Just a delightful build all around.

Aww thank you so much! Awesome to hear more people got to try out what I managed to finish. You're the only ones other than me to have tried that particular parkour challenge at the chopper. I was gonna have an armor stand character on the roof lamenting about their lost balloons (in case it wasn't clear that's what they're supposed to be).

Are there any thoughts on doing a server tour before we end things off? I've yet to do any real exploring, and am curious to know what others have been up too. I stumbled across a cool underground city just North of me this last week, and know there's a few other mega builds around.

There is also The Adventurer's Society (the Up! house in TildesTown) that has lodestone compasses in a convenient that takes you to some of the points of interest on the server. I do plan on in the next week adding more of the builds to this system, including your Japanese village.

Other than that, nothing special! Just follow the only rule of “Don’t be a dick”. The server is pretty vanilla survival multiplayer. When the season starts up, usually a group of people quickly establish a spot for Tildetown, the main settlement, and then defeat the dragon. After that, you’re free to do as you please. Usually someone sets up a rail network and a nether travel hub as well so you can build anywhere you’d like.

I made the most insignificant graveyard of a base ever. It's so unremarkable one might think it's a pile of refuse stacked by a highstorm. I love it as unfinished and crappy as it is. That notion is a major victory for me as I can finally wrestle away from the artist's curse: "There is more that can be done. There will always be more that could be done."

I can slowly retire Minecraft as a large part of my life and move to other hobbies. I will finish up my youtube series and only rarely visit the game. It's time to sail away with Frodo and Bilbo.
