Hey tildoes, what drugs do you do?

be it coffee
be it kratom
be it moscato
be it meth
be it canna
be it coca

we've had a lot of more serious or intentful posts about drug use, usually with a focus on depression or addiction, but we've never had a ~talk.casual type conversation about it.

what drugs do you do? why do you like em? do you like em?

what do you want to try?

i can see how this post could push on a border of "acceptable" content, so my bad if i'm breaking any rules.

While the suggestion of "waves" was clever, I think it's too esoteric to become widely accepted. It's just not obvious to outsiders what it means.

In English, the "-ee" suffix denotes the person/thing that something is being done to, rather than the person/thing that does something.

          • An employer does the employing. An employee is employed by someone else.

          • A detainer does the detaining. A detainee is detained by someone else.

          • A payer does the paying. A payee is paid by someone else.

In this context, a "Tildee" would be someone who is tilded, someone who is the passive object of someone else's tilding. It makes it sound like being on Tildes is something that's being inflicted on you against your will, rather than something you choose to do. You're a passive victim of Tildes, rather than an active participant in it.

Looking at the states that end in e, people from Maine are Mainers, although people from Delaware are called Delawareans, and people from Tennessee are called Tennesseans. Uniquely, people from New Hamshire are called New Hampsherites, or less commonly New Hampshiremen or New Hampshirewomen. So no real consensus can be claimed there.

I suppose we could say Tilders or Tildereans would most closely match the usage based on state names.

If we preserve the s and look at states that end in s, we run into other demonyms:

                • Arkansas: Arkansan or Arkansawyer

                • Illinois: Illinoisians, Illinoisans, Illinoians, Illinian

                • Kansas: Kansans

                • Massachusetts: Bay Stater, Massachusettsan

                • Texas: Texan

That would appear to leave us being either Tildesians or Tildesans. I much prefer Tildesians, but it's a bit unwieldy.

@earlgreytea didn't invent "tildoes". Or, if they did, they're re-inventing it, because this term has been invented a few times in Tildes' history: here, here, here, and originally here. I assume that @earlgreytea picked it up from one of those. There's a small group of tilders who have latched on to this term and use it with glee.

It just won't seem to die the ignominious death it deserves.

However, it does serve one useful purpose for me. I'm learning that the use of "tildoes" almost always indicates a post or comment that will not interest me and is not worth my time. I'm just about at the point where I won't even bother opening those posts or reading those comments. So, it's handy in that way.

I've been offered weed on numerous occasions although I've always turned it down. I never really had much desire for it, to be honest. People have told me that all weed really does for you is chill you out and make you hungry, neither of which I really need help with. I'll probably try it at some point though. I have nothing against it and support legalization.

If there's anything I've ever wanted to try, it would some type of hallucinogen. Just to see what I'd "see". Maybe shrooms or something. A buddy of mine once told me of his acid trip where he spent 3 hours having a conversation with the toy fire truck of his child hood. Don't know how true it is but that sounded interesting as hell

The effects of hallucinogens differ a lot between people. Some people barely get any visuals even on strong hallucinogens like DMT. When someone drops acid and then talks mostly about visuals it's easy to get the impression that the visuals are the interesting part of the trip. I find that it's simply a facet of the experience that's relatively easy to convey to other people so it is often discussed more than other aspects of the trip which are vastly more interesting and valuable, though extremely difficult to communicate. The headspace and the changed perception of reality and self is the real big deal about psychedelics like LSD and the visuals are just a "gimmick" for lack of a better word.

I want to try LSD/Shrooms too, but it worries me that it lasts so long. A bit more hardcore, but DMT seems cool too, and you can extract that from plants yourself. DMT seems better in that regard, but also a lot deeper and more scary.

A person of my acquaintance has gotten amazing results for treatment-resistant depression with microdosing 200 mg dried 'shrooms (basically, about 10% of your typical hallucinogenic dosage) once every 4 days.

There's only anecdata to support this right now. No one's going to fund major peer-reviewed studies on a drug which is illegal pretty much everywhere, especially when there are so many highly profitable, patented "medications" to try.

Psilocybin-containing mushrooms aren't difficult to cultivate in quantities sufficient for personal use - there are plenty of good spore, kit, and instruction sources (using a safe search engine and VPN is always recommended when looking for information or purchasing).

Costs depend on how much of the work you want done for you - a minimal-effort grow-bag version which will give you a year's supply for microdosing costs around $150.

i think it'd be phenomenal to just pop a pill or something, go numb or get focused, and create something. be it a song, a drawing, a video game, hell, a dress, just create something in that moment of emotional crescendo.

It would be amazing. But in my understanding, there is a lack of drugs that can help you achieve a higher form of creativity. I once used to believe that smoking weed helped me take better photos. In hindsight, I don't think it did. I was just high while taking photos. I'm not saying that I haven't taken some cool photos while being high on weed or tripping on psychedelics (tried shrooms once, with camera at hand), but the consistency of quality has always been achieved better while being sober. I'll agree to the fact that some things can be more enjoyable to do on drugs, but I have yet to hear about a drug that can give you a more consistent quality output then your sober mind can.

I'll go as far as saying that drugs are fun and have the ability to give you great ideas. But the ideas you come up with are often best executed while being sober. Some of my intoxicated work has been great, some have been total shit – the same goes for my sober work. But yes, give me creative outburst with no hangover pressed into a pill and I'll shove it right down my throat.

I've thought that about playing guitar while high (weed). I'll play for an hour and think it was just amazing, but I usually record what I play so I don't lose anything cool I might think up while screwing around, and listening back later, it's usually just my usual jamming. Of course, it's really fun to play while high, so there's that, but the creativity doesn't seem to be enhanced by much.

I've tripped on LSD, mescaline, and mushrooms, but only ever felt more creative on LSD, and that was years ago. Didn't really improve my guitar playing or make me write any songs, but it's sort of understandable when you're tripping really strongly.

Most of my drug experiences have been marijuana (which I don’t use anymore because it makes me anxious and it’s hard to get in the country I live in now) and alcohol. I did coke a couple of times, but I didn’t like it because it gave me a terrible hangover. I’ve done acid once, but it was a very low dosage. It just made me feel very relaxed.

I had a really great, therapeutic trip on mushrooms once with two of my greatest friends. It’s kind of blur two years later, but I remember ending up in the bathroom and arguing with my reflection. The mushrooms also distorted everything so even though I knew it was me in the mirror, it didn’t look like me. I believe that conversation with the mirror really helped me get over a lot of my body image and motivation problems. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Ironically the dark web is significantly more trustworthy than people you meet IRL.

This is because the dark web has the ability to rate and review. So suppliers who have purer stuff, or label their stuff correctly, get higher ratings than others. People often send a small portion of their purchase to a lab and post the actual GC/spec/etc. results.

Plus, you need to convert to bitcoin which leaves a paper trail on your bank records (thanks, PATRIOT act!). Should I start by buying a small amount of weed to determine if it's a reputable supplier? Where do I ship to? It's a bit unnerving looking at all the potential issues that could arise from online black market purchases.

You could always buy something besides bitcoin and then convert it into bitcoin. A paper trail into bitcoin doesn't mean much though. You could claim you were an amateur investor

Been smoking waaaay too much weed (dry herb vape) to be honest, and drinking some energy drinks to get caffeine/sugar boosts. I've always had trouble concentrating and there's something about combining a red bull and weed that makes me concentrate like nothing else can. That's about the extent of my regular drug use.
But when you're at the point that you have trouble getting out of bed on monday and only start to wake up when it's nearing 12pm, maybe you overdid it a bit. To be honest, the energy drinks worry me the most. I manage to keep it at a maximum 2 a day now, most days 1, but it used to be 0~1 can a day.

I've been reading about research chemicals and getting into that world. Tried 6-apb which is a MDMA/xtc analog, amphetamine, which was fun, and speeds everything up, but that's about it. Oh and you feel a bit hungover the next day, maybe sore muscles. Been eyeing some 1p-lsd to try tripping for the first time.

Mushrooms - My favorite drug. I use them for my mental health. I used to have pretty bad depression starting in highschool, and shrooms feels like hitting a reset switch on my brain. The depression comes back after a couple years, but then I just dose again and it's gone for another couple years. As for the experience, the visuals aren't that exciting or beautiful to me, but I love this absolute mental clarity it gives, it's really hard to explain with words, but it feels like you can concentrate at 100% while in real life you can never get passed 70%.

I love taking a heavy dose (over 4g for me) and having conversations with god when I close my eyes. I'm an athiest but I always end up talking to god. Even though she looks like a glowing orange and purple spherical rose thing, she feels female to me, so I refer to god as a she. She loves me wholly and has a childlike playfulness and innocence to her. My girlfriend has depression as well and also treats it with shrooms. She ends up seeing her dead relatives and talking to them. She's not religious either. I don't like doing it more than once every year or so, it has kind of an anti-addictive quality to it.

LSD - it's fun, the visuals are much more fun than shrooms, but I don't get the same mental effects as shrooms. This won't make sense to most people who haven't tried them both, but shrooms feel like the universe is giving your mind a hug, while LSD feels like an alien universe is giving your mind a hug. The things I end up thinking about are so much weirder than shrooms. I also get no euphoria from it, so it just feels weird and alien to me.

4-aco-dmt - Even though this is supposedly supposed to turn into psilocin when it hits your stomach acid, it really does not feel the same as shrooms. It feels like there is a whole mystical element missing from them. It's nice that there is no nausea during the come up but I would rather take normal shrooms, and just do this one recreationally.

Weed - I smoke weed on and off. It's never been quite pleasant for me. I end up being overly critical of myself and how I've acted in the past and over analyze every movement and word I say. I do appreciate how it lets me dive really deeply into stupid pointless thoughts though. I can't enjoy movies or tv at all because I become hyper aware of the fact that it's actors acting and how weird acting is, and how fake that sound stage looks, and how the lighting is set up and looks unrealistic and so on. I still smoke it fairly often just because I like having altered states of consciousness once in a while.

Nitrous Oxide - I got addicted to these in college. They're very expensive for how long the effects last. It's maybe 1-3 minutes of semi-euphoric numbness per little canister. I liked to inhale it and listen to music. I almost hurt myself when I would hold my breath for minutes on it, then exhale and instead of breathing in normal air, I would inhale more nitrous to prolong the effects.

Ambien - You take them then fight through feeling sleepy. Then you start to hallucinate. They're mental hallucinations, not "I see someone standing in my room" hallucinations. It's always the weirdest stuff on ambien. I hallucinated an old lady made completely out of cornflakes (it looked terrifying) was sitting next to me on a rocking chair. I hallucinated that my wall opened up and a schoolbus full of demons was doing donuts around me while sucking out my soul with their tongues. Weird stuff, not scary at the time.

Salvia - You have to take a big enough hit to "break through" then everything is crazy for 5 minutes. You completely lose all sense of the real world and are transported into a completely new reality. The first time I broke through, my mind split into 2. I was a little kid riding a ferris wheel and at the same time I was also a carnival game of an inflatable woman and people were throwing pies into my mouth. The 2nd time I became a baby elephant walking on a red carpet that went on forever in space, then I heard Dexter (from dexters lab) laughing and the universe ripped in half like a cartoon. Both times when I returned to reality, I felt a very strong conviction that the reality I returned to was somehow the wrong reality.

Day to day i'm mostly drug free besides occasional caffeine.

Pretty just much weed, and the occasional XXespresso if I need to get something done but my body wants to siesta.

like trecht here, I think i'm a bit on the over indulgent side when it comes to weed. But even so, I've managed to cut down drastically from what i used to be doing.. Although I just recently this week got a pax2 vaporizer and I still haven't gotten used to what pace to run it, so to speak. I'll have to learn some new muscle memory to make it easier sticking to my bud-dget

I've never really gotten into anything else though. I love drinking but for whatever reason I never get the urge to start drinking. It's only ever a social thing for me but once i get started I wind up drinking myself under the table.

I used to socially smoke, but I've had to stop anything tobacco related. I think I've got an allergic reaction to it or something. My throat just spasms/chokes as soon as any nicotine(happens with vape juice too) hits it. Well, in large quantities anyway. I found that if I hold the smoke in my mouth and begin to breathe in through my nose I can mix the air and the smoke at will. The nicotine sweats/spins are rarely worth it nowadays, though.

I agree that is a possibility, but I did get high on the very same day I forgot to take this particular medication. Sadly, it is a very important medicine for me to take, substitution is tricky and, even though getting high is awesome, I wouldn't jeopardize my health for it.

I also must point out that I smoked ridiculous amounts of high-quality pot in order to test this thing. I guess God don't want me to be a pothead.

I consume 2-4 pots of coffee daily, though I do brew it a bit weaker than normal. Gave up the soda completely except as a rare treat.

There was a time I'd put away 2-4 beers over lunch twice a week, with trips to the bar after work twice a week. I'd probably still enjoy drinking at that level, but it stopped enjoying me. If I have more than two craft beers I now get a headache within hours that lasts until sleeping, so I'm practically dry now except the occasional single beer.

I smoke around a half pack a day (down from two). The morning cigarette with the first cup of coffee is the hardest one to give up.

I smoke cannabis 2-3 times a week. I use it to combat insomnia, to relax, and also while listening to music and writing.

I'd be willing to try shrooms/LSD as long as I have a trip buddy around and can be sure of the pedigree of those drugs before taking them. I doubt I'd ever take these 'regularly' but I wouldn't mind taking the gloves off of my right brain for a while to get a better understanding of how it operates and perceives things.

That's all the drugs I use. I don't even like to take aspirin/painkillers.

MDMA: was it the same pill every time? was it one you bought from a dealer IRL or over the darkweb? Pills are usually cut with something else, makes me wonder if there wasn't a strong stimulant like coke or meth in it. I don't know anyone who throws up on the come-up every time but it's certainly possible. People's individual reactions to drugs can be varied and interesting.

Any reason you've done shrooms but not LSD or 2CB? Supplier issue?

I’ve never ingested MDMA in pill form. I’ve bought from dealers IRL. The reason for throwing up might have a psychological explanation, I guess. When thinking about it, I don’t think it happened on my first roll. I don’t enjoy the come up that much and I get nervous before it kicks in, and that may be the reason why. A friend of mine have the exact same reaction. Yeah, most people I talk to have a totally opposite reaction to MDMA than me. I get introverted by it.

Haven’t done LSD or 2CB because I don’t know about any thrust-worthy suppliers. You mostly have to buy it from other countries on darkweb, so it adds a bigger risk than ordering it from within the country. Shrooms, on the other hand, I can pick up straight from the ground within the next couple of weeks.

I've bought it in different parts of the country and I have only had one batch that I took from twice. • Recreationally, I used to love coffee, but I can no longer tolerate it well while on benzos.
    • Instead, I rediscovered the love for green tea, and I'm now kinda into our local speciality. Mild, fresh, whole-leaf green tea doesn't interfere with the drugs. I just love the taste.

    • Zero additional serotonergic drugs (which precludes many psychedelics), because of sertraline.

Aside from the usual suspects (caffeine, weed, alcohol)

    • Mushrooms - I have come to really appreciate micro-dosing this, it really improves my disposition.

    • Modafinil - a notropic that primarily is used to help with extreme drowsiness but also helps with focus, it sounds a lot like ADHD medicine but the effects are much more subtle and you can actually go to sleep while experiencing the effects you just don't feel the need to. I really liked this drug when I was freelancing. Only side effect I noticed was that it smelled like I was eating a lot of asparagus.

    • Meth - was told it was MDMA, ended up partying for 18 hours. Would not do again.

    • MDMA - did it a couple times, didn't really affect me enough to seek it out after the third time was the aforementioned meth

    • oxycodone - Don't ever wanna fuck with this again. I broke my leg and was on a mix of morphine and percocet for the 3 days I was in the hospital, was given 16 tablets leaving the hospital used it recreationally with alcohol a few times. It took years for me to not randomly think about how great it would be to score more tabs of this and one of the times I took it with alcohol I feel like I came really close to overdosing, I got really drowsy and tingly in the finger tips, managed to stand up and go for a walk.

I have no use for kratom, which I tried and found pleasantly uplifting (Green Malay, some yellow from a vendor, red bali, and Boulangique(sp?, it's a red)) or marijuana which I tried three times and didn't care for (the last time I choked on my first hit, smoked so much my body went into some sort of weird spasm). I like the alcohol buzz and I enjoy drinking beer, whiskey, coffee and tea, so I'm pretty much set for vices between these two drugs.

Addicted to caffeine (soft drinks) for 10 years, got off that about four years ago. Occasionally, about 3 times a month, have iced tea and occasionally have chocolate or coffee ice cream before 2 in the afternoon.

Made (award winning) wine (lived in Napa, CA), gave up alcohol (wine, beer & mixed drinks) almost 2 years ago -- though if a dessert has alcohol, I'm not giving up that.

    Never smoked anything.

Never drugs -- even taking a Tylenol is rare.

Will I die from a heart attack? Probably.
