Something I have been thinking about lately is how sexual content online seems to be proliferated and normalized much more than it used to be. I'll give a couple of examples.
While I do not use the big social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) very often, I've seen questionable content while others are scrolling, as well as conversations both online and offline with others who do use them. Nearly all of these sites contain profiles of people who are primarily there to market an OnlyFans account or similar. And these profiles are pushed to various demographics, seemingly moreso to males.
Reddit has a very questionable history with this type of content. But outside of that, any subreddit that allows submission of photos of people will often include these models trying to promote themselves, and they frequently make it to the top of the subreddit. (Some reddit users make fun of this in subreddits such as r/UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG, which stands for "Upvoted Not Because Girl, But Because It Is Very Cool; However, I Do Concede That I Initially Clicked Because Girl").
Twitch is a livestreaming platform that primarily hosts streamers who are playing video games. Streaming other events or "just chatting" has grown in popularity, which I have no complaints about. But there has been a lot of controversy about sexual content on the platform. To address this to some degree, Twitch added a "Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches" category for people who are streaming in that specific context. But OnlyFans models do not stick to that category, and can easily be found in "Just Chatting." And I can personally say that regardless of how many times I select "Not Interested" on these streams, I continue to get suggestions for them.
Even generic chat applications (such as WhatsApp and Discord) are plagued with bot accounts that are either representative of an actual model or part of a scam, but in both cases, try to lure users in with sexual content.
I do want to say I have no issue with adult content when it is in the appropriate venue. Sites dedicated to pornography are completely fine for consenting adults. What I take issue with is how this content has expanded far beyond dedicated sites.
Society has reached a point where we hand off internet-connected devices to children at a very young age. Chromebooks are used in schools very early in education, and smartphones are given to kids early in life. It already seems to be common knowledge that social media use results in self-image issues in youth. These issues will likely be accelerated by social media not only showing a false image of how people live their lives but also the lengths they go to appear sexually appealing.
I'm not proposing some overreaching "save the children" censorship legislation is needed. But it's hard to imagine how this trend can be turned around. It produces a ton of clicks, which is all these user-posted content sites (and advertisers) care about. Is there anything that can be done, or is this just the new internet?

Does anyone else find themselves in the loop of always starting a new project? Of looking up tips and tricks to clean their room but then never get around to the actual cleaning? You want to buy just this one extra thing and THAT will change everything (spoiler: it doesn't). If I could just make a schedule for myself, then I could...
That's the "getting started" loop. Where you're always looking for the newest, so-called solution without enacting any of them.
Disclaimer: I have diagnosed ADHD and take Vyvanse Monday-Friday. But ADHD meds aren't a magical panacea. I'm a less anxious person. I'm able to get my work done. I've got the basics covered. But my personal life is really...neglected? I'm certainly not thriving. I don't have a good role model for what "adulting" looks like. Yknow the people who have thriving social lives, who can do their laundry without procrastinating, who get their butts into the gym without overthinking it.
I have so many hopes and dreams from being able to finally cleaning up my room and keeping it organized to wanting to stream and make videos for Youtube. I want to go back to school. But I am so afraid of change and not doing a good job, of not doing it perfectly, that I just don't start anything.
How do you avoid the loop?

So this is pretty different from the typical stuff on here. I want to share an interactive music project that showed up on my YouTube feed called MILGRAM. It's produced by Deco*27, a popular Vocaloid/Utauite, and Yamanaka Takuya, a member of the band The Oral Cigarettes who's also been a key figure in producing some anime and video games (Caligula Effect is a major one). This could probably fit into ~anime too, but this is specifically a music project so I figured this is the best place for it.
To quote the MILGRAM wiki:
MILGRAM, established April 2020, is an ongoing interactive music project by DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka.
The premise is that there are 10 prisoners residing in the Milgram Prison; they have all committed "murder". Over time, their mental images will be projected into a music video, containing hints and clues hidden in it. With these videos in mind, it is up to you to find out the truth behind their actions and deem whether they should be forgiven (innocent) or not (guilty).
In Milgram, there's a three trial system. Each prisoner will have 3 different MVs. For each video, you will be able to vote on their verdict (for the specific prisoner). Dependant on their previous verdict, their trial will change it's direction. Keep this in mind when you vote!
I like songs that tell stories, and MILGRAM definitely fits that criteria. I haven't finished listening to all of the songs released yet, but it's fun to watch the music videos while searching for clues to whatever murders they committed. Sometimes it's fairly obvious from the first video and lyrics. Other times, we're doing a lot of extrapolation. If you didn't know the context of the overall project, a couple of the songs and videos seem pretty typical for their musical genre. Just look at the top comment of that one: "imagine my confusion clicking onto a seemingly cute and catchy song only to scroll down and see people talking about abortion, murder and death??"
Even without that context though, I think all of the songs and music videos can stand on their own. I wouldn't have realized they were part of a series if they didn't mention "X Trial Music Video" in the title. The songs span multiple genres, ranging from rock to J-pop to metal to... I guess more jazzy and classical/blues? Not sure how exactly to classify that last one, the music video has my brain biased towards seeing it as a "musical theater song". Anyways, there's probably a little bit of something for everyone, and all of them are incredibly well done. I've been playing Undercover in particular on loop, and the melodies of a couple others have gotten stuck in my head.
Currently, the second trial/season recently wrapped up, and no word on when the third season/trial will start releasing, so the interactive aspect is currently on pause. But I figured this might be a fun rabbit hole for some others to go into. And there's some emphasis on it being a rabbit hole. There's a lot of related content like voice dramas and a Japanese mobile app that provide additional context. The wiki I linked at least has translated transcripts for the voice dramas and interrogations, and some of the messages on the app. Meanwhile, the music videos have some Japanese text that's left untranslated, but have YouTube comments mentioning rough translations. Basically, the music videos are just the surface of the story.
Mainly though? I just want to share some cool music and music videos. So I hope someone here enjoys this as much as I am!

I am assuming all of you have seen the latest issue with Enzo's chant made in 2022 - it's not ok! I've read and have been told all sort of defense that range from different sensibilities to a more crass approach but no foul was meant etc., Nope, sorry, no excuse. True, Argentina has perhaps a population that is a homogeneous society like some have said, how true, I don't know, however they are not indigenous to the area. In the year 2024 to have a myopic view speaks more to the ignorance of the person or group defending it let alone those who chant it than anything else. I've found a video that has the chant itself and at least the presenter had the good sense to pull back from it.

I have been dating a woman for coming up to 4 months, after matching on Hinge. I am completely head over heels for her, as is she for me. Due to respective childcare obligations, our physical time together is limited, but we text constantly, have frequent video and phone calls, and make an effort to find small, snatched windows to be together after bedtimes when geography and schedules allow.
I feel extraordinarily connected to this woman; our relationship has been characterised by laughter from the very first message on Hinge, and the time we spend together is both a) an unbridled joy, and b) doing that annoying thing where hours feel like minutes. I am fully aware that this is just a part of being in the honeymoon period, and that we haven't gotten into the more mundane parts of being in a long term relationship yet; but that they are inevitably coming down the line. However I could very much see this being the last relationship I ever have, inshallah. So I want to try and lay the groundwork for stability and security into the long term while we're still in the honeymoon period, with the idea being that when it ends we've got a strong foundation upon which we can move forwards.
I know you can't plan relationships, that every relationship is different, and that life has a way of throwing enormous curveballs your way. But as best I can, I would like to ensure that when the magic of the honeymoon ends, we have built something that will enable us to transition into lasting love. We've already talked in broad terms about things such as when we would meet each other's kids; the vague direction of the relationship in terms of living together, marriage, additional kids, and so on, but without timelines; and a little about our respective love languages and attachment styles. That all feels like simply sounding out compatibility, so I would like to know, what are the other conversations we should be having? Are there specific things that you wish you discovered or realised about your SO during the honeymoon phase? Is there something that we as a couple should be doing now to make our lives easier and better later on?

I know it isn't a good habit. I like to watch movies, "T.V. shows" on my computer. It was never a problem with older style monitors.
However with newer style monitors ( like I have ) and T.V. screens you either have to be far away from the monitor or be sitting up straight for the images not to fade. Worse, you can't see anything with night scenes.
Anything I can do about it aside from buying a hug TV and sitting on a couch at the other end of the room?
Update: I got the monitor /user/ButteredToast recommended. It works noticeably better than my old monitor and the price was very reasonable
