Read this in high school and it made a very big impact on me at the time. Won't be rereading now but I'll def join in on the discussion!
I do remember we had to do some kind of "project" or something so I made a mobile because I felt like making a mobile and then made up some ridiculous symbolism that wasn't even accurate to the novel and my teacher loved it lol
Takver, Sheveks partner, makes mobiles. Maybe that's why?

It's possible that partially inspired it, but I just really like mobiles and I made a lot of mobiles for fun. I painted them to look like planets and I said something like "oh the book demonstrates that the society on each planet requires the existence of the other planet to stay stable because otherwise people would be upset and want to change but because the other planet exists, they have something to be opposed to, so they are stable in balance opposite each other....just like a mobile hahaha"which is like. not at all a real theme in the book? but if I wanted to make up a theme that a mobile would demonstrate it would be that, so I pretended it was lol
That’s better than

drawing a circle. And then holding it up and saying, are we locked in or are they locked out.
That was about one month and 6 books ago so my memory might be fuzzy.
I am looking forward to the discussion, I already started reading the book.
Oh I just read this last year! Looking forward to joining in on the discussion.
Same, though I'm already going to need to jog my memory on the details. Really enjoyed this read.
Nice. Picking this up from the library this week. So far none of these books would be the type of book I'd normally pick up, so here's to broadening horizons.

Thanks for the ping! I've already started but I'm not very far in yet.
Just a small note: it might save mobile users some scrolling if you put these pings on one line, especially as the list seems to be growing. Also, if pings work inside of summary/details blocks, that would be an even more compact way to ping people.
Ping Test
Pinging @cfabbro as a test, because I know they'll be around in short time to confirm for us.Yeah, pings do work in the details/summary box.
The next step would be for me to learn how to do a summary details box. However, I think I will start with just a couple of lines of text.

Hidden text goes hereThanks for the suggestion! I can for sure do one line that might wrap around to two or so.
I appreciate it.
I have been marking the pings as "noise" every time, not sure if that works given they get upvoted too but maybe if we all do it?
I suspect if the comment gets successfully flagged as Noise then it will retroactively stop the pings from going through. So I wouldn't recommend doing that, and instead going with Offtopic (which is what I have been labeling them all as).
ahh good to know, thank you!!
