This is our annual holiday game giveaway topic. Spread some goodwill and holiday cheer with others!
Before you participate, please make sure you read the rules below.
Rules
-Gifters
Post your available games, the platform and method of delivery, rules for your giveaways (e.g. first-come first-serve, random draw, etc.), and any additional info or requirements. Feel free to get creative!
-Giftees
Request giveaways. Please make sure you follow the gifter's posted guidelines.
-Guidelines
Anyone can choose to be a gifter, giftee, or both! Giveaway rules are set by individual gifters, but there are handful of guidelines everyone should follow:
- No grey market keys! Only give away games from reputable sources. If you're not sure what this means, please ask.
- Requests for games should be done in this topic, but if the gift is a key, those should be delivered by PMs only. Please don't post keys publicly in this topic, even obfuscated ones.
If you're new to these, check out previous giveaway threads to see how these usually go.
This giveaway is now closed, thanks to everyone who took part and played some of these games whose poor codes have been sitting in my spreadsheet, sometimes for years! I hope you all have a great time playing them.
I have a bunch of steam keys that I will give away on a first come first served basis. Simply leave a comment telling me:
All keys are from Humble Monthly choices over the last couple of years, so if you already use that service, there's probably not much for you here, and I apologize. I cannot vouch for any of the games, except the Lost Dark.

I don't have keys for them, but I'll gift them to you via steam, so if you want them, I think I need some kind of potentially identifying information to send the copy of the game to you. Since these ones are going to be purchased (Thanks Steam Sale) they won't run out, so if someone else has already picked one, you can still pick it again.
If anyone who has requested a game (or two) would like to request another game (or two), feel free! And please forgive this ping, but I just want to let people know it is an option.
Ping list
@fefellama, @BailerAppleby, @Evie, @xavdid, @CrystalManta, @Eidolon, @Don_Camillo, @TaylorSwiftsPickles, @under, @Fog, @kari, @cheep_cheep, @Wafik, @guru2050, @intoxicated_diver
Sent, enjoy, Merry Christmas!
Hey thanks for the ping. Of the available games I'd love to check out Evil West and Jagged Alliance 3.
Thanks again and happy holidays!
Evil West was requested about an hour earlier, my apologies. But I have sent you Jagged Alliance 3. Enjoy!
I'd love to get No More Heroes 3 and Lil Gator then, thanks for the ping :)
Sent, enjoy!
Thanks for the heads up! I would gladly take Lil Gator Game, but if you end up choosing to give that to under since they requested it first, then Amanda the Adventurer would be my backup pick!
Oh, sorry, I did give that to @under, I just read from the bottom up. But I sent Amanda the Adventurer.
Thank you! Understandable lol
Thanks for the heads up! I would gladly take Lil Gator Game, but if you end up choosing to give that to under since they requested it first, then Amanda the Adventurer would be my backup pick!
Thank you for offering, I would like to ask for Miasma Chronicles if it is still available
Key sent! Enjoy, merry Christmas.
If it's not too much trouble, I would like to ask for the following, if they are still available:
Hope you are enjoying your holidays, please take your time with these, Merry Christmas
Keys sent, my apologies for the dealy, I was screen free for a few days for Christmas. Enjoy!
Much appreciated, a happy "ho ho ho" to you too
Oh hey these are incredible games. I'd love Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew if possible. Been meaning to check that game out for a while but never got around to getting it.
Here's a holiday memory for you: in my country it's traditional to put all your shoes by the door around xmas, as that's where Santa would leave the presents. So as a kid I hated throwing away shoes because clearly more shoes = bigger/more gifts. Like I'd get some new shoes and rather than throwing the old ones out I would just keep them til xmas that year and then get rid of them after they had outlived their usefulness on December 25th, lol.
Game key sent, enjoy!
I wonder if my daughters somehow know about this tradition, because getting them to throw out any pair of shoes has been hard, for their whole lives.
One Christmas when I was younger, my brother and I decided to go tobogganing. We were staying over at a relative's place and, as we weren't familiar with the lay of the land, we had no idea where to go. But, being impulsive kids, we were sure we could continue this Christmas tradition of ours. As it turned out, finding a location wasn't a problem in our relative's hilly neighborhood; what was a problem was the snow: there wasn't enough of it. Because it's this kind of story, you can probably guess that we went tobogganing anyways, and as I can tell you, this is not something that I would recommend to anyone. Going down is rough, and falling off is simply not an option. We did it a few times until the wiser part of decided to go home, dragging our ruined sled behind us. But yeah, it was fun, and memorable.
Would like to request Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun if it is still available.
Game sent!
I feel that there is a certain rite of passage where one ruins a toboggan or gt snow racer. One year (this would be in the early 80s) my cousin ran his right into a tree and knocked himself right out... and worse broke the GT.
Merry Christmas!
Much appreciated, thank you!
Those GT Snow Racers were amazing! Too bad I missed out on those.
Merry Christmas to you as well!
Nioh 2
In my hometown, there was an event called "The Fantasy of Lights" every year, which my father's employer sponsored. It was an enormous park filled with extravagant displays of Christmas lights, put up by local institutions. We were broke, and couldn't afford Christmas decorations of our own, but I remember bundling into the minivan to drive through the display. We'd sing Christmas carols as we went, me, my siblings, parents and grandmother oohing and aahing over the lights. Then we'd buy candy canes from the convenience store and go downtown to see the huge Christmas tree they put up by the bank building. I guess, looking back, it was all a bit small-town corporate. But I don't have many memories of my family, and it's nice and even a little romantic to have one of us being poor and festive and happy together.
Thanks for the giveaway :)
Game key sent! Enjoy, and thank you for sharing - small town corporate seems pretty wholesome given the current state of affairs ;)
I'd love
Persona 4 GoldenandYakuze: Like a Dragon! Heard great things about both and adored P5R.Favorite holiday memories are mostly around watching movies with the family. We always let my dad pick the movies on Christmas and he loves mysteries / detective stuff, so I've started to associate Sherlock Holmes with the holidays. There are a ton of spins on the character, so we've always got something new (or old and familiar) to watch!
Game keys sent, have fun!
Family movie night is also a core Phoenix Household memory, both from when I was a kid, to now with my own kids. Now we tend to split movies up over multiple nights because my wife tends to fall asleep!
Hello! I would definitely take Cavern of Dreams as I'm a massive fan of 3D collectathon platformers! As for Christmas memories, the most impactful would probably be as a young child (I don't remember how old lol) when my parents got me a PS2 for Christmas as well as the original Ratchet & Clank. Since then, the PS2 has become my favorite game console of all time due to all the great memories of it!
Game key sent, collectathon away!
I have a very similar core memory... except mine is with the NES. And one prior with the Atari!
Thank you so much!
Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered.
For older memories, I'd probably have to say sponge cake, because Christmas was the only time I was allowed to have it. Three ingredients: store-brought sponge cut into cubes, a tin of berries and whipped cream. All layered and squished into a cake tin and chilled. The best part was eating it for breakfast on boxing day.
These days, Christmas is very relaxing and low-key, which is just the way I like it.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Game key sent, enjoy!
Cake for breakfast on boxing day sounds decadent! I'm not usually big on cake, but sponge cake with fruit and whipped cream sounds pretty great. Enjoy, Merry Christmas!
That was very swift, all claimed.
The sponge isn't too sweet and the whipped cream doesn't have sugar added, so it's not as decadent as you'd think. That's probably why I like it so much. And it's always better on Boxing day when the sponge has had more time to absorb the fruit.
Thanks again!
i would love total war pharao
Hmm I'm actually on holliday atm. i just saw a cuple of whales, blowing water and jumping out. what an amazing sight.
Merry christmas, key sent!
I've seen whales a few times, with one of them being a humpback that swam under our (relatively small) boat; they are on another whole level of size. I'd seen belugas and orcas, but that was the biggest creature I have ever (and probably will ever) see). Enjoy your holiday!
i only saw them from the beach. i'm pretty shure they were humpbacks as well. it was just awesome in the literal meaning, they're just soooo big.
thank you so much for the key
Hey as good times go, giving up something destructive is hard to beat! Game key sent, I hope you enjoy it, Merry Christmas!
That's awesome, I'm glad to hear it!
Thanks for the giveaway, I'd like Trepang2.
I think my favorite holiday memory is going to a family gathering (we don't do these anymore) and eating a delicious pie we call "german pie" around here but is not actually a German recipe, and then getting Super Paper Mario as a gift from an aunt, back when I still only had Wii Sports as a game.
While I can't compare with doubling your game library like your aunty, I do hope that the addition of Trepang2 brings you joy! Is german pie Torta Alema? If so that looks amazing.
Yep, that's it! It's not a hard recipe to do so I recommend trying it out if you can
I would like to request The Long Dark, if still available.
A holiday story: As a child, I burned my report card in my back yard before visiting my grandparents for Christmas. I found myself struggling with undiagnosed mental health disorders during the school year, but now I see I was practicing a form of dishonesty that damaged my trust in my family and in myself. Since that moment I had allowed my fear of sharing the truth to taint the Christmas season, since it was likely I would be sharing (or hiding, as was more often the case) bad news about school performance around the holidays.
It has taken years of therapy, difficult conversations, and self-accountability since then but I'm happy to share with the Tildes community I've worked to rebuild trust! and I no longer view the holiday season as one to be dreaded!
Happy Holidays to all.
Key sent, with a bit of an extra message, let me know if the key works, because it's not from the last several months. I really liked the long dark as a survival game; it is eerie and beautiful. Beware, it is cold and dark and there are wolves chasing you!
I'm glad that you no longer see the holidays as a time to be dreaded, and thank you for sharing that story.
I'd love Slay the Spire (my Steam ID is
KariLehtonen)!A nice holiday memory I have is when I was ~10 ish, some family friends we'd met while both living in Switzerland came and visited us in Texas from Canada for New Years! We lit off lots of fireworks, chilled in the heated pool & hot tub, and had a general blast. It's the first time we'd seen them in like 2 years at that point, and we still try to see each other once every couple of years even though it's ~20 years since we met them in an entirely different continent.
Game sent, I hope you enjoy it, it's one of my all time favourites.
It's awesome that though your story is only 5 lines long, it shows a fair bit of globetrotting - friends from canada from switzerland visiting texas. I love getting together with long time friends, especially over holidays.
I should get a hot tub.
Thanks for your generosity! I would love to play Citizen Sleeper, if no one else has claimed it.
One of my favourite recent holiday memories was during COVID. I was bubbling with my future in-laws, who were also my neighbours. It was very relaxed, we prepped food beforehand, there was lots of cheese and dessert, and since we were all very close, no one felt the need to be on good behaviour or worry about being offended or make small talk. We watched some movies, played Nintendo, and it was one of the most relaxing holiday experiences I've ever had! Even though COVID was tough in a lot of ways, that was the perfect day, and it wouldn't have been possible without social restrictions. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to reminisce!
Key sent, enjoy!
That sounds like a lovely Christmas memory, and it's how I like my christmas holidays to be as well. We have tried to keep a similar vibe; PJs, board games, cheese and pate, crackers, chocolates, snack, nintendo, beer and lounging. That's my favourite way to celebrate!
Hey,
I would love Trepang2. I keep getting close to buying it and stopping myself so you would finally push me over.Whoops, just realized someone already asked for it. I'll change my request to Lost Eidolon if that's okay! One of my favourite Christmas memories is a little random. As a kid we would gather on Christmas Eve to open stocking stuffers and we would always have escargot. I have no idea how we started this tradition. We have snail shells we would fill each year and everything. Good times.
Oh no, you got what is hopefully the only one that I hadn't crossed off my list already before handing out the key! Sorry about that. I have sent you the key for Lost Eidolon.
That's a cool memory! We do something similar but totally different - we gather on Christmas Eve and the kids get their special Christmas PJs, and we have shortbread . So similar vibe - open a gift, have a specific food - but totally different gifts and food.
Merry Christmas, enjoy the game!
Yeah, definitely my bad on that one. I meant to check all the comments first but got excited. As a kid, I would have definitely preferred shortbread over escargot!
Thanks for the GiveAway, aphoneix! I sure do hope Roguebook remains available.
So shortly after graduating from college back in 1998, I decided I would finally buy my own gaming console. It's still sitting in my bedroom of my ancestral home, though unused for many moons now and likely no longer functional. About a decade later when my nephew was old enough to maturely handle the challenge, we engaged with great delight... Super Mario Strikers on my cherished GameCube! Needless to say, our bonding though this activity was particularly memorable during the Christmas visits. A great meal with my loved ones and in festive attire with holiday music in the background, only to be capped with the boom and bam of the Super Strikes--now that's what I call a fond memory! Great times and lively bonding, indeed.
I wish you all fellow Tildeans (is that a valid moniker of the users of this forum?) a most wonderfully blessed Christmas season!
Game sent, enjoy!
Christmas times around the console with the kids is one of those classic great memories that I also have. Food and games and loved ones and warmth with the tree and the lights and a fire in the fireplace... hard to beat!
The best demonym for us is "Tilderen" in my books, but Tildoes or Tildeans is great as well. Merry Christmas!
If it hasn't already been claimed yet, Risk of Rain 2 looks interesting.
Not exactly a holiday memory, but it's a nice one I look back on fondly. I had decided one weekend to fly to a different city to meet up with some friend. It was a snap decision, like right there and then. It was during summer, and on that particular evening it was forcasted to be cloudless. So we drove maybe half an hour, an hour out of the city. The whole sky was filled with stars; it felt unreal.
And then the next day I flew back home, as I had work the next day (flew out on a Saturday, flew back on Sunday). I usually never do something this spontaneous, so I really treasure those two days.
Merry Xmas and happy holidays!
That sort of trip sounds amazing - both the spontaneity and ability to just fly somewhere for a weekend, and then also getting out and able to see things without the light pollution that is so common everywhere.
Game sent, I hope you enjoy it! Merry Christmas!
I mean, since you're feeling jolly, Evil West is an old school best em up I could never justify buying but would be happy to play through if you're willing to part with it.
Game key sent! Enjoy
Thank you and I shall!
Hello ! If you still have it i would love to have Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign.
Key sent, my apologies for the delay, I was screen free for Christmas day and boxing day. Enjoy!
Physical giveaway: I have a AYN Odin2 Mini I don't play enough. It's one of these Android handhelds you can use to play retro games on. Also runs Rocknix beautifully. It's a really nice little machine. IFF you can pick it up in person in Berlin you can have it for free. Comes with the box, and it's in good shape, so it still works as a present I think.
This is awesome, and I think the first ever physical giveaway we've had on these topics?
I hope someone's able to take you up on it!
Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Berlin but this is a cool giveaway.
Also sadly not near Berlin....but would be happy to pay for shipping if you go that route :D
Over time I've accumulated keys for various games I already own, so this is a good opportunity to maybe get them over to someone who can actually use them. You don't have to do anything in particular to receive one, just let me know what you're interested in <3
You should be aware that some of these are quite old (like 10 years old...), so I don't know if they all still work. If you request something and can't redeem it, I'd be happy to get you a new copy/key, if you'd like!
These are all Steam keys:
Core KeeperStarboundInto the BreachTower UnitePikunikuSpelunkyKerbal Space ProgramThis War of MineWorld of GooPsychonautsVVVVVVSUPERHOTJackbox Party Pack 1Jackbox Party Pack 3I'm interested in VVVVVV. It'd been a game I knew was out there and existed but I never paid it any attention for years and years until I heard this song in some context outside the game and now I find myself interested.
Relatable! VVVVVV's soundtrack has been one of my favorites for a long time, although I like chiptune music in general, so some of that is personal bias. Even nearly 15 years after originally playing the game I still go back to the OST and let it play through!
Wow, what a list of good games! For me, I would like to request Core Keeper. I've been on a mining kick lately; right now, I am playing Ad funum, a rather cozy mining game.
Ad Fundum reminds me of Motherload, a Flash game I used to love playing like 20 years ago! I wouldn't have expected giving away games to lead to me buying more games for myself, but I guess it's back to the mines for me
I’d love Jackbox Party Pack 3! I played Tee K.O. at a friends place once and it was such a blast that the whole pack immediately went into my wishlist :)
Thank you for your generosity! I'd like Psychonauts if that hasn't been redeemed. Merry Xmas and happy holidays!
Thanks for your generosity! I'd love to see if your Starbound key works - I hear the modding scene is pretty good.
Would be keen for 'Into the Breach'. I almost always have a strategy game I dip into on the side, while I'm working through an RPG. And I love turn-based tactical games. Thanks for the giveaway!
Fun Fact: Despite being a single-player game, Into the Breach has become a game I "play" almost exclusively with a friend of mine. We sit down together and play on the harder difficulty, working together (and sometimes debating) to choose actions to take. Seems to work out as well, we've done better like that than either of us ever did solo. I doubt most people would want to play that way, but it's a special game to me because of that (I also like the game in general!)
I can't say I have ever played a tactical game like this with a friend, this is such a cool idea - thanks for sharing. I've played various games where you can vote on dialogue choices with a co-op party. Although some dialogue choices can indeed be suspenseful, it probably doesn't compare to when you're in an active combat scenario. Thanks again for the game.
Hey, I would love to get Spelunky from you. I keep getting told I need to give it a try and never get around to it. This would finally force me to.
Can I get Tower Unite if possible?
What are the odds that I'll see Starbound mentioned twice in the same day all of a sudden.
Might be my sign to actually play it again for once
I would gladly accept either Pikuniku or BioShock, whichever you feel like giving or haven't given to someone else! Thank you!
I'd love Kerbal Space Program. It's been on my wishlist for years now. Thank you very much!
Hey I'd love to check out This War of Mine if possible.
Thanks for doing this!
Thanks for your generosity :) I'd like to request World of Goo, something I've always been interested in and never gotten around to playing! I think my wife would enjoy it too :) Thanks again!
I don't know how I've gone this long without getting a copy of SUPERHOT but I'd love one if it's still available
Hello, I would be interested in Jackbox Party Pack 1. Thank you either way for the gifting!
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
As usual I will be giving away at least one copy of a game I played and enjoyed this year, not including Lingo (which was already given away in the summer). I've also excluded Catherine since it was given to me in the first place.
I'm going to make things slightly more annoying this time! Below is a list of words related to the games on offer. If you'd like to join, please select between one and three of the following lines and reply to this comment, referencing your choices either by number or by copying the entire line into your reply.
Here's a list of every popular user tag on Steam from every game in the list. They are sorted by frequency, from most to least frequent. You can use it to help you decide if you want to participate in the first place. "Singleplayer" was excluded - all these games are playable by a single player.

There are plenty of good games in there, so choose carefully! If there are two or more winners, we will also have a swap round during which participants can put their prize on offer for another winner to swap with (in case you already have it).
Q: I recognize one or more of the games above, is it cheating if I participate and choose those games?
A: No.
Q: Is it cheating if I research the games beforehand, for example on Steam, or simply by reading your posts on Tildes?
A: No. In fact, I think most of these are pretty easy to figure out.
If you have a specific game in mind, feel free to target it. Otherwise, if you'd rather be surprised, just pick whatever sounds good!
Note: For some games, it might be necessary to temporarily friend me on Steam if we aren't friends yet.
This is such a fun way to do a giveaway! It's doubly fun because I've got no clue what basically any of these are (which is unusual, since I consider myself pretty well-informed about games. So I'm excited about surprises!
I'm interested in:
5. Water, Fire, Shell6. Magnets, Ships, Beasts7. Run, Good, Perfectbecause I like magnets, platformers(?), and elemental stuff and have ZERO clue what they are. Thanks a ton!
Please post the answers once all the games have been given away!
11 (Rake, Melons, Moon) and 15 (Kami, Yokai, Tsuchinoko) both sound very interesting to me! Though I'll be happy with just one if someone else finds one of those interesting, since I do have a pretty hefty backlog already.
Side note, I just went through your posts to see if I could figure out what some of them are. I have a good idea what those two are, but looking through your history gave me a couple other games I might end up adding to my wishlist. You seem to have found some real hidden gems! 11 in particular seems VERY hidden, so I'm curious how you learned about it.
I just toss game names into a txt file and check if they're out once in a while. For that sort of game, I'd say probably... one of the less mainstream showcases from the "E3"/Summer Game Fest week?
It's not obvious to me what any of these are, but I can't resist a good mystery!
I'd like to roll for 4 (Mouse, Ostrich, Kangaroo).
I'm choosing not to research these ahead of time lol. I would pick:
Mouse, Ostrich, Kangaroo
Water, Fire, Shell
Kami, Yokai, Tsuchinoko
This is definitely a fun way of doing giveaways!
I've got some suspicions but not overly confident! This is such a cool idea.
8 (Grids, Paintings, Cave) or 12 (City, Mountains, Paradise) please!
I would like to choose this one because I believe there is a Loony Toons scenario in which a trap involving a suspended grand piano is an integral part of the plot.
Alright, time for our draw! The process will be similar to previous giveaways, but this time, instead of drawing by participant first, I'm just turning every entry into a ticket, placing it into an imaginary bag and giving it a good shake.

I had not seen this game previously but it looks like it would be great on the Steam Deck, so I'll gladly accept! Reminds me of some of the 3D sonic games (like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle).
It has some issues but it's really addictive! Don't forget to DM me your steam username and I'll send you a friend request soon.
I will accept the game! Ready to do some homonculus shenanigans
Nice! I hope you enjoy tough-but-rewarding metroidvanias. Have you played the prequel ENDER LILIES?
I will have to give it to you on steam so please DM me your steam username at your convenience and I'll send you a friend request.
Love metroidvanias, especially with a good challenge! Have not played the prequel but I'm not a stickler for story. I'll go ahead and DM you!
Thank y ou!
So you're accepting it? Don't have it yet? I read your profile
and thought "holy shit this is like the perfect game for her" :D
Don't forget to DM me your steam username!
I sent a DM with my username!
Ohh interesting. Had some fun trying to guess what a few of these might be. One or two I think I might know, others I have no clue!
The two that sound most interesting to me are 14 and 7, but I could be totally wrong, lol.
I'd like to request Girl, Homunculus, City! Love anything with a homonculus!
I'd like to request 12 and 13, please
I don't think I recognize any of these, though I always enjoy reading your game writeups in the weekly threads :-)
I have done no research and also wouldn't say I am all that knowledgeable about the game scene, so I'm going in blind. I'm very curious about fox, throw, rabbit (mostly because I'm envisioning some system of foxes throwing rabbits for some reason), wolf, darkness, wolf, or city, mountains, paradise (so 9, 2, or 12). I hope you share the answers (and why you chose those specific words) because I am very curious.
This is really cool, I love the mystery and surprise of it. I am interested in 3, 8 and 14. I'm not sure what any of them are but I'm excited to see what these could be referring to!
Thanks for doing this! This is a fun way to go about it. I think I've figured out what some of these are, but I'm not 100% confident. These ones sound interesting to me, though (in no particular order):
Hello everyone,
I'm a little late to the party, but I'm here with a haul of Steam keys! I too have a backlog of Humble Monthly keys that I don't need (including some leftovers from the June giveaway), and I'm here to share with all of you. Most of these keys should work, but every now and then I have a claiming error, and they're too old to reissue, but hopefully everyone can get what they want.
Given that there are so many fun giveaway ideas already in this thread, I'm going to make these first-come first-served and make it simple. Tell me which keys you want, and they are all yours! In exchange, tell me about some kind thoughts or hopes you have: they can be for yourself in the new year, for people in your personal life, for people here on Tildes, or for the world at large. I have met so many kind people this year, and I in particular want to send out well-wishes for @ThrowawayForMe, who has been going through a difficult time, and @chocobean, who is one of the nicest people I've met on the internet. And many thanks to all the other folks on here that make this such a fun place to be! May your gaming be merry in this troubled time.

Distraint 2: SoundtrackI'm a bit late to this, but something in my gut said to check my messages even though I don't feel I have much to add right now. Thank you for allowing me in your thoughts, I truly feel that it's with the help of kind hearted people like you, @chocobean, and more that I've been able to handle my situation so well. I'll post another update soon.
Wishing you the best on this Christmas Day.
Could I try for Humankind? I got pinged and it was an unfair advantage, if someone else wants the game please give it to them :) thank you for the giveaway (and all offers as well!)
I hope the coming year is one of positive growth and healing for all. There's so much broken that needs mended, so much lost that needs to be gathered and held tight; I hope that we can be Healer and Fixer for each other, and that random circumstances will be kinder to each of us. I know that sometimes we grow best when challenged, but I cannot help but cry Mercy! Please let us grow slowly, give us time to pause and catch our breath, as well as one another. For myself, I hope I can become less angry at badly behaving humans, and feel less hopeless about our biosphere.
How about this - I'll give the field 24 hours to claim Humankind, and if they pass, it's yours! (I'm also fine with you just claiming it - there's plenty of other titles out there, and you happened to be checking your notifications! Solstice Eve good fortune?)
Hear, hear - I hope we can all try and be patient, supportive, and compassionate even through hard times, and that the biosphere gets a reprieve next year.
Yes please everybody don't be shy :D I have a very large library of games to play already and I want cheep_cheep's generosity to be recognized <3 please give it longer
:) most people aren't terminally online gremlins like myself
XD I had a very good laugh from this idea, thank you
I'll give it a couple more days, but I think this is a situation where it is functionally yours! =D
I took a long break for holiday visits, but I have officially sent the key to Humankind! Enjoy :)
Yay~~~~! Thank you :D
Hmm I'd love Humanki.... just kidding! Saw u/chocobean's comment and think they totally deserve it for being such a positive contributor to the site!
I would love High on Life and Desperados 3 though if that's alright!
Well 2024 was a very stressful year for me for various reasons, so much so that my wife and I decided on some big life changes together (leaving our jobs, selling our house, moving, etc.). Then 2025 has been sort of a transitional year, got the ball rolling on a lot of those big life changes, but still a few left to do to wrap it all up. And 2026 is the year where we'll do them in. So the kind thoughts and hopes that I have is that this last year of planning, working hard, and saving pays off.
I've posted a bit about it before on Tildes, and found the community here extremely understanding and supportive. Those mental health threads and just various threads that come and go where someone asks a general question to the audience are very helpful to read through. Even on the threads where I don't post or comment, it's helpful to see the stuff that other people are going through, as often times the comments for those people feel like they could apply to me as well, and it's reassuring to see that other people are facing some of the same issues in this crazy world we all live in (though obviously I'd prefer if none of us had to deal with those issues at all).
So thanks to everyone on this site for being so wholesome and uplifting. Made these last couple years easier to get through, which is more than can be said for most sites out there.
PM sent! Unfortunately Humble has temporarily exhausted keys for High on Life, but I'll be sure to send that one to you once they've made it available to me.
Transitions can be really hard - I really hope that all the work that you and your wife have been putting in comes to fruition this year! I agree, the community here is amazing, and it warms my heart to see all the support and positivity for the various problems and miseries that people encounter.
My sister in law has had a couple rough years. A garbage husband, now ex husband, watching the ex immediately hook up with the waitress from his favorite bar and have a kid with her immediately as well. Last year she spent building a new house. She just moved into her brand new house and it is beautiful so I'm looking forward to 2026 being a much better year for her.
And I would love Aliens: Dark Descent!
Wow! He sounds like a real drama llama - I too hope your SIL has a much better future on the horizon, without her ex husband in her life. Key sent!
Drama llama is my new favourite expression!
Thank you for sharing! On my end, I hope that I'm able to get medicated for ADHD around January, something I've been waiting on for a long time and might help me finally progress towards a lot of my goals; or failing that, that I learn to manage the disorder better. It's been a journey!
I'm also hoping all my friends have a great year, especially the ones that have had trouble with life and anxiety as of late. I'll stick with them and do whatever I can to support them. Shout out to my friend who's been particularly unlucky with her apartment roof being flooded right before leaving for her vacation with her husband :x
If I may request some of these, I would please very much like these:
Apologies for the delay - I've sent two keys via PM! Unfortunately Fashion Police Squad is an Epic key, and redemption for those is a pain in the bum. Good luck with the ADHD meds - I have a good friend who was recently diagnosed as an adult, and even just that knowledge has helped her understand herself a lot better. Happy New Year!
Answered you via PM, thanks a million!
I can definitely relate with that. So much about myself and my past started making much more sense when I discovered the disorder and started making connections ; even little things like every school teacher who told me I'm a good student that 'needs to apply himself more', or difficulties maintaining my relationships. It's a bit sad to think about, but it's progress!
Would love to try N++
As for the kind thoughts. I’ve been thinking about how to make a more positive impact on the world myself. I feel like work is just work and not that meaningful at the moment.
Working on projects that hopefully will be more meaningful. We will see.
Key sent! I know what you mean about feeling like work is not meaningful, but I hope in the next year you're able to find ways to find it for yourself. Good luck!
I'm hoping for a peaceful year for myself without bad things happening, such that I can focus on work, writing and staying healthy. But more importantly, I hope my brother will figure out a way to find peace in his own life. He's always too busy and stressed, and this worries me.
I'll take Rock of Ages 3 off your hands. These games aren't everyone's cup of tea, judging by reviews and opinions over the years, but I found the first two hilarious and had a blast playing them.
Key sent! Best of luck to you and your brother in the new year - I am one of those kinds of people that is constantly busy and stressed, and so I wish your brother in particular some calm and relaxation!
Thanks for this! I’d love to try Dome Keeper.
Well I’m 106 days into quitting all alcohol. I’ve just seen too many studies lately about how unhealthy any amount of alcohol is, and basically there’s no “safe” amount. So I decided to take a break for 100 days and see what it was like. Then last week, I decided to make the change for good!
I’ve been helped a ton by nonalcoholic beers. There are some really good ones out there. And then video games have helped keep me occupied too!
Wow! Full sobriety can be challenging, for sure, and that's a major undertaking. I hope your sobriety journey is going well and continues into the new year! I haven't tried many (any?!) non-alcoholic beers, what do you recommend?
My favorite is an IPA from Athletic called Free Wave. I'm also a fan of Heineken 0.0
If it hasn't been redeemed yet, I'd like "We Were Here Together" and "Neon Abyss".
I hope that everyone is able to be safe, and to have happy moments and memories. Whether you're celebrating with loved ones or you're going through this month by yourself, I hope you look after yourself.
Keys sent! Hope you have a delightful holiday season, too.
Death's Gambit: Afterlife
Forgive Me Father
Thank you for your words and I share the appreciation you have for this community. I don't have the time to engage much on Tildes right now, but I am grateful to lurk in the periphery, reading things every day which often resonate with me. I've been quite depressed about the state of the world for a long time now, but I've made significant steps in how I manage that feeling. Meditation has been a big shifter for me over the past couple of years, but I have been taking long breaks. Next year I'm hoping to be more consistent with my practice and also branch out a bit and connect with a group.
Thanks for the givewaway :)
Keys sent! The world is an especially difficult place right now, but I also feel really comforted by this community, even if I'm not commenting directly. I hope you find solace and peace in your meditation practice in the coming year - I find that mediation and associated practices do help me deal with day to day stress, but I need to make my mental health a priority and that can be hard to do.
Absolutely! I was worried no one would be interested in an old F1 game, but I'm glad it has found a home with you. And I will be greedy on your behalf, and hope that you get your gender-affirming surgery and get engaged, with minimal financial burden!
If this giveaway is still going, I would love to get Destroy All Humans 2! I recently beat the remake of the first game but never actually got to play the second, even as a kid!
ETA: My main hope for this year is that my dad can fully recover. He recently suffered some kind of injury (we initially thought it was a stroke but I'm hearing that it wasn't) and has to go to physical therapy to relearn a lot of stuff. He's doing fine, but he uses a cane and can't drive again yet.
Absolutely! Key sent. I hope your dad recovers quickly, and that he has a good support team around him to help him on his recovery journey!

I've been trying to learn Japanese for a while now and am hoping next year I'll have some significant process with that. Studying the language was harder than I thought but fun.
Thanks for this! :D
Keys sent!
That's a fun pasttime, and useful! I have a hard time keeping up with language learning, so good luck in the new year on your language journey. Do you have a favourite word or phrase that you've learned?
One of my favorites so far is 凸凹 which means "unevenness". Great word.
hi there ! If you find a way for transfer i can haul Diplomacy is Not an Option.
Sorry for the long delay - I did some digging and it looks like the only way it would work would be by linking your Epic account to my Humble account (which is already linked to my Epic account), and I'm not sure how much personal information you would need to share with me. There's no other way to transfer it, unfortunately, and there's not even via a gifting option, which seems like a missed opportunity. I'll remove that one from the list - apologies! Let me know if there's anything else on there that might be interesting to you.
Thanks for sharing! My big hope at this point is that the country doesn't tear itself apart. It feels like there's a shortage of good news and everything is getting worse. It's probably more a perception thing than anything else, but it's been a little rough, vibe wise. But I hope it gets better!
Game wise, I'd love:
Keys sent! I agree, I really hope some of this broader political political madness settles down in 2026, I think it's really weighing on a lot of people. At least we have video games to pass the time!
Giveaway
Update - Giveaway has closed Thanks all, DM's have been sent!
Rules: Nominate any games you would like from the following list and answer one (or more!) of the following questions.
As I'm probably on a different timezone to most folks here, I've always done a roll-based system where anyone can put a bid in at their leisure. I just assign a dice based on how many have claimed and the highest roll wins. I don't have a system set up to provide a transparent process so this is just based on trust. Entries close on 23 December at midnight PST - I'll try to get keys sent out before Christmas!
Direct gift via Steam - Requires adding me as a friend in order to get the gift and I'm completely indifferent as to whether you delete me after you get it.
Roadwarden - Fantasy adventure pixel VN. I started playing it in the Backlog Burner and I love it so much. It's very immersive and text-heavy! If you like DnD and tabletop RPGs I think you'll like this. I'm gifting three copies and could be convinced to send more out, depending on interest.
Steam keys
A good many of these are on the currently active Humblebundle Rawfury bundle, others may be a year or so old and I cannot 100% guarantee they will activate. If your game doesn't activate and there is another unclaimed game, you'll be welcome to claim it.

Atomicrops Deluxe Edition - Frantic farming sim
Bad North Jotunn Edition - Island tower defence

Back when I was in grad school I really wanted a Switch, but I new that if I got one it would distract the hell out of me and I was so close to finishing my Master's. So I was due to graduate in December, and my girlfriend at the time (now wife) decided to get me a Switch with BoTW for Christmas. She told me about it beforehand, as a sort of motivation to get me through my few remaining 25-page papers I had to write. And then graciously allowed me to open and play it like a week early once I had graduated. So I have some fond memories of BoTW right around Christmas, being a welcome reprieve between the hustle of writing papers and the agony of submitting resumes after.
Oh man too many to list. The older I get the more /r/patientgamers I become. There are tons of great games that I'm looking forward to playing that I just don't even bother looking at until like a year or two after release, both because of price and also because by then they've had a lot of bugs fixed and balance patches and whatever. Sometimes they'll already have a goty version with some dlc, lol.
Anyways, thanks for your generosity, I've been looking into Roadwarden for a while so I would definitely take you up on your offer if still available.
I can relate to that, I'm still writing my thesis and this holiday period will be very constrained. What a selfless and lovely gift though, to be able to delve into that temporary escapism!
I'm definitely a patient gamer as well, unless it's a co-op game and my friends are encouraging me to buy it.
Your entry is in, I'm keeping this giveaway open for another few days. I learned my lesson when I once did a giveaway where I timed it close to the end of the Steam sale. The giveaway thread was long inactive and everyone had to wait way too long to get their games XD
Still time left if there's anything else you'd like to nominate :)
Hmm, I looked through other people's comments so as to not pick anything they've already requested. And besides Roadwarden (which was on my wishlist), I would be very interested in checking out Atomicrops, Pizza Possum, or the Tails Noir series. But if someone else wants them please by all means give it to them! I've got plenty already :)
Side note: I never realized how solid the lineup from Raw Fury was! They have some amazing games that they've published. Besides the ones on your list, they also have Cassette Beasts, Blue Prince, the Kingdom series, just wow!
Blue Prince, Ballionaire and Cassette Beats are coupon discount codes only, but I agree it's still a great bundle. Unfortunately the discount codes can't be shared.
Oh no worries, I didn't even know there were coupon codes involved! I just meant that as publishers they have some pretty good games in their repertoire. I had never noticed before. Reminds me of Hooded Horse who also have quite a lot of decent games in their portfolio imo.
If i can... Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer.
To answer your question right now I'm playing Silksong but because of some health issues i find it really hard. If i play for more than 30 minutes the nerves on my right arms ignite and my shoulder explodes in a supernova of pure agony so... i am pretty slow as you may guess and i am thinking to move to stuff i can play with only my left hand until i'll get better: point and click adventures, visual novel, etc... in this case the game i will soon move to is Citizen Sleeper 2. Not that i'm really looking forward to playing with it but i have to if i want to preserve my sanity :D and I really liked the previous one (that i played last holiday). It is a very very VERY slow game where most of the atmosphere is delivered throughout long blocks of text... not differently than in Disco Elysium. It's like reading a book and decide here and there where to point the protagonist, you choose a path, you roll the dices. And i really like the vibes it gives me. it's a sort of chill cyberpunk. A lofi dystopia... a settings that i find intriguing because it's so well described within the game that i would like someone would pick it up and make an anime about it.
The giveaway is still running! Let me know if you might be interested in the original Kathy as well (or anything else!)
Wishing you well for recovery over the summer. I've got nerve issues too and can be quite tricky to deal with. Do check out Roadwarden, since it's a text-based game too and I would be more than happy to gift this to you as well. I started Citizen Sleeper a while back but I got stuck! I'm assuming you have played the first game?
Thanks but i played Kathy 1 a long time ago and more over in this way more ppl can enjoy the give away :) Kathy1 has some interesting moments that I would define Lynch-ian. It's a bit rough around the edge, but it's a beautiful point and click... a cozy game for the period. I hope the second will keep the same soul.
Where did u get stuck in citizen sleeper 1? Maybe I can help. I remember it was hard for me too the first... uhm... 3 or 4 cycles because it seemed nothing really happens but then new paths opened and something inside me clicked.
About the nerves... thanks so much! :) I hope to get well soon though I know it is matter of a couple of month at least... the silver lining is that now I can use my left hand a lot. I have become pretty good at shaving my beard with the left hand without dying of blood loss :D
I'd love Roadwarden! It's been on my Steam wishlist.
My favorite christmas gaming memory is probably the Steam winter sale of... 2011? A bunch of indie devs added holiday-related achievements to their games and you could get steam items and things for getting those achievements. It lead me to trying a bunch of games I might not have otherwise. And though achievement hunting isn't mostly something I enjoy, it was fun experiencing it with everyone. (the full list is here)
Of those games, Atom Zombie Smasher is my favorite. It's a series of stylish vignettes played over a zombie invasion game. It sort of plays out like a board game, where you score points after each level and you try to stay ahead of the zombie team. It's utterly original and I still go back and play a run once in a while (it's super customizable).
Thanks for the giveaway!
Oh wow, someone else who remembers Atom Zombie Smasher. That game was so addictive!
Noted!
I definitely had a Steam account back then, but I don't remember this. The link you posted is getting a 404 for me, however!
Atom Zombie Smasher does look very unique. And it's got co-op too, does that work well?
Ah, I've updated the link.
The game is awesome! I've never tried the co-op, but it's probably good. It's mostly an autobattler, so it would be interesting to see how it works with multiple people.
The link is working now, thanks. There are so many participating games and some of the achievements look so niche and potentially quite difficult.
I'd love Sable! Call of the Sea is my backup pick.
Game I'm looking forward to playing: A gift exchange santas gave me Constance, so that one.
Memorable holiday season game: Last year I was playing Dungeons of Hinterberg. It was definitely a memorable game, despite a few design weaknesses!
Unexpected gaming gift: When my internet friends gave me my first VR headset, the HTC Vive. I'd never have expected anything like that.
I have yet to play either of these games so cannot give you any opinions I'm afraid.
Wow, I really like the look of Constance, I just added it to my wishlist. DOH is already on my wishlist - it does look really unique. And wow that's awesome when friends on the internet pool together their collective resources!
If there's anything else you're interested in, claim away :) Still a bit of time left.
One year, I decided to buy and play Cthulhu Saves Christmas during the holiday season. I hadn't played the game it is based on and don't usually play holiday-themed games, but it was the right pick for the gaming mood I was in. It was number of years ago, but I remember being impressed by it and promising myself to play it again in the future; I think it would be to catch a different ending (which wouldn't matter now since I don't remember much about the game anyways). The thing that impressed me about it is how many corners were cut to make the game, and how flippant the game was about it. It seemed pretty obvious that crammed in the work to push this game out for a holiday deadline (a (mini-)RPG, no less), but it doesn't feel unworthy. Rather, the whole thing is a hoot, and the game dev let us in in the fun. I'd play it again, but it's on Switch, and I've mostly given up on that platform. Still, a good small Christmas RPG recommendation for anyone interested.
I am interested in American Arcadia or, if that is not available, then my alternate choice would be Sable. Thanks!
I've never played a Christmas game before, which is why I thought I'd ask. Love the satire and that it's a game you can play through fast rather than dragging out past the holidays.
Thanks for entering :)
There's still some time left if there's anything else you'd like to nominate.
Sure thing. I'd like to ask for Tails Noir Preludes (as I had just won the first game) and Atomicrops too, thanks very much!
Id like to nominate American Arcadia! I've had it on my wishlist for a bit now after learning it's sort of truman show like. I love the movie and think it's a really interesting concept. Thank you for the road warden shout out too, I added that to my wishlist now!
As for a Christmas game memory this is a bit niche and I don't actually have concrete memories of it because it was probably about 20ish years ago. I would be really interested to learn if others remember this and could say what this is. I remember it was a browser based flash game that I want to say was made by Nintendo (I could be misremembering just because it sounds so odd for Nintendo with no Nintendo characters). It was wintery and Christmas themed and I remember it being sort of like an advent calendar with a new level becoming available each day in December. I remember it being a 2D platformer with a penguin character you play as.
I bring it up as a fun Christmas memory because I remember excitedly playing it every day in December leading up to Christmas and loving the music to get me in the Christmas mood!
I've never seen The Truman Show, but it's good to know the inspiration for this game, thanks for pointing that out.
I wish I could help, I have a Christmas book from childhood that I used to be obsessed with but then it disappeared from the library and I didn't know the title or author. So I know the feeling! An advent game is such a sweet idea. It sounds unique enough that someone might remember it, if not on Tildes then on some internet community where flash games are discussed...
Hi, since we have two first-choice nominations for American Arcadia, please let me know if you have any backups!
I'm crazy and looking forward to finally starting Baldur's Gate 3 this holiday season. I have some time off and then more in February so I hope I can put a good dent in it but we shall see how it goes.
And I would love to ask you for Bad North Jotunn Edition
You'll be glad you waited as the final patch only game out in April this year. Do you know what class you're going to play?
Noted, thank you for entering! I really like the aesthetic of Bad North, but tower defense games aren't for me.
Yeah the hardest part is finding time to dedicate to an RPG. And I have absolutely no idea. Any recommendations for a first play through?
This is difficult to answer as I think classes preferences are such a personal thing, given the amount of choice. You can respec throughout the game easily - including your class and subclass (but not race/background). You can also respec your party too. I just created my character as I would a DnD character - thinking broadly about their story, history and personality. I would pick whatever appeals to you intuitively, but check against any priorities you might have, such as high charisma for unlocking more dialogue options.
Personally I found Paladin to be quite repetitive and overpowered. I liked the flexibility of the bard and I had the most fun with a Monk, because punching foes never got old.
Fair enough. I usually lean Paladin and have no problem with over powered for a first playthrough. What was repetitive about playing as a Paladin?
I usually do too! The repetitiveness was probably quite influenced by the co-op setting, I should have mentioned this. My group didn't like to spend too much time in shops/towns and camp, so there wasn't heaps of time to trial out different playstyles. Also, we had a warlock in the party who was powergaming and blowing everything to bits with massive AOE and summons. The pally excels more at single-target, so just to get good hits in I stuck to a traditional smite build and would focus on highest health enemies. I was using the same loop over and over, that's why it got repetitive. Multiclassing is an option to consider so that you can get more spells and cc to mix things up a bit.
Yeah I can get that. I often end up in an optimal path and then it's 50/50 I get bored from the repetition.
Exactly this! It's nice that they allow for class respec.
Still a bit of time left in the giveaway if you would like to make any more nominations!
Appreciate the offer, but I believe everything else I would want has either already been claimed or I already own the game.
Thanks again for doing this!
If anyone is interested in sim racing I have spare steam codes for Automobilista 2 and Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition.
If anyone is interested, it'll be first come first serve. If you would like, you could share your sim setup or future sim setup.
Hey if no one takes you up on your offer, I wouldn't mind checking them out. I used to really enjoy Forza and Gran Turismo back in the Xbox 360/PS3 days but since then I've just mostly played a couple of the F1 games here and there. I'm especially curious about Automobilista 2 since I hear that has a lot of attention placed on Brazilian tracks and divisions, and I happen to be Brazilian. And I've heard great things about Assetto Corsa but don't have any experience with it. Which one do you prefer?
As for racing setup, last year I was thinking about getting a simple Logitech G29 to get more serious about sim racing, but then I ended up moving and now don't have the same space that I did before. I plan on moving again in the near future, and am hoping to have some more space then to set something up. Do you have any recommendations that I should look at?
Automobilista 2 is yours!
You really can't go wrong with either choice, but I personally like Automobilista more simply because it was my first sim. I really enjoy the graphics and the physics feel very nice as well. There have been a lot of updates over time to improve the sim which is nice to see from the devs. Speaking of the devs, I'm pretty sure they are or at least some are Brazilian which could be why they have a focus on some Brazilian tracks.
However, if you're in to modding games or the modding community, then Assetto Corsa is a great choice. There is a massive community creating mods for tracks and cars with some of them being very good.
As far as setup goes, I have a very basic Thrustmaster T150 wheel and pedal set that I use at my computer desk. So far it has been great, although if I could do it again I would get load cell pedals from the beginning. Life has been busier lately so I've had to put sim racing on the back burner, but I would love to upgrade to a set of load cell pedals and then I'd like to build a small rig using an old car seat to get a better driving feel. Sitting at a desk is fine, but it's much more upright than what one would be in a car.
For suggestions, unfortunately I'm not going to be the greatest here for advice since I'm still running a "beginner" setup and I haven't had a ton of experience outside of what I have. From what I've heard you really can't go wrong with the Logitech G29 though. I was initially considering that one but went with the T150 because I found a deal with it. Really any beginner wheel with force feedback and good reviews will be a good choice.
Sim racing has been a ton of fun and really opened my eyes up to what drivers are going through during a race. From timing braking points, learning how to properly brake, preserving tires, or learning how to have pace and not go balls to the wall, it's been great. It can turn into a rabbit hole of researching how to use specific techniques to shave away time. It's also really fun to learn a track before watching a race!
Oooh I hadn't heard of these before. They sound pretty cool!
That's actually why I originally got into the F1 games! I had started following F1 again after many years and got tired of not knowing too much about the tracks, so figured I might as well 'drive' them myself so I can better appreciate what the drivers are going through throughout the race.
Oh man that would be the dream! Might need a bit more space for that though, lol.
Hello! This is my first time ever giving away game keys! I recently got these in a bundle and have no real interest myself (aside from Coromon which I already have). I only have three games to give away. All three are on Steam. When you tell me what you want, give me your best funny fake fact to try and fool people with. The funniest one gets the game!
CoromonFarewell NorthFruitbusWas this difficult for you?
Sent!
Hey, thanks for joining. I would happily take Farewell North off your hands. I have a part Border Collie and who doesn't want to paint Scotland?
Sent!
I always keep four or five secret stashes of chocolate around the house for emergency mood lifting. Maybe if I had Coromon to play, I wouldn´t need so many. Unfortunatelly, I keep forgetting where I keep them, and my pet racoon is looking suspiciously fatter.
Jokes aside, thank you for the giveaway. This post reminded me that I haven't been very active on tildes, even though I still come here to read every now and then. I have been a pokemon fan for a long time, and I didn´t knew this game. Even so, if anyone else wants the the game, I dont mind conceding, and in the future I will make an effort to post more :)
Sent!
Thank you and merry christmas to you too :)
Lost in Translation Giveaway(now closed)Oh no! My entire list of game keys fell into a translation app! From there they bounced around from language to language, going on quite the adventure before they returned to English. Some of them still look a little recognizable after their trip, but others really changed up their styles!
You can request up to 6 games from the list.No restrictions anymore! We're in free-for-all mode! I will then PM you the Steam keys for those games and reveal their original titles. Guessing at what you might be getting is NOT required, but it is a lot of fun, so feel free to do that if you want to!I also welcome guesses even from people who don't want the games.
Notes:
Ctrl+Fyour numbers to make sure someone else hasn't requested them before submitting them (games will be given out first-come, first-serve).I'll be closing this on the 23rd since I'm traveling then.On the 22nd, if there are still keys available, I will open them up to anyone who wants them, including people who have already gotten 6 titles. I'll fully close this on December 30th.Game List
Posting this as a separate comment so it will stay unedited:
Here are the hashes of the game list, so that y'all can know that I didn't move any games around and play favorites or whatnot.
I'll post the full game lists after this is over so people can confirm the hashes.
MD5:

Also, for anyone curious about the translations, I used Hypertranslate to move the game titles through 15 different languages.
Each time you run it, the site chooses a different language path. Thus, I took batches of games and ran them through, and each time might get one or two "good" ones for the ten or so titles I put in. I'd then keep re-running batches until I had something good for each game. I tried to prioritize ones that were interesting and not too obvious.
My personal favorites were:
25 Characteristics of Some Crustaceans = Another Crab's Treasure(self-explanatory)
28 Classic Runes = Rune Classic(lol)
33 Damn Cake = Hell Pie(right on the money)
50 GRAPPIN = GRAPES(something about it keeping the all caps energy got me)
73 MEMPEST: PIRATE RPG = Tempest: Pirate Action RPG(more all-caps energy, and also MEMPEST is just naturally funny)
83 Passive Movement = Inertial Drift(profound)
84 People Are Equal = Human Fall Flat(also profound)
97 Stop the World = Earthlock(right on the money again!)
98 Sue Knight: Bag Jail = Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon(Pocket Dungeon = BAG JAIL)
112 = The Most Popular Game of the Year = Rising Storm Game of the Year Edition(I can see how "rising" and "storm" could both translate into popularity)
120 Tomato = Hexarchy(no idea how this one happened but I love it)
128 With Violence = BZZZT(quite literal)
"Hey can I copy your homework?"
"Sure, just make sure to change it up a little so we don't get caught"
...
I laughed out loud! That's the perfect description for those.
This was one of my favourite giveaways I've seen for amusement purposes! I also loved the translations you listed (plus "We Are Still Children" for "We Are The Dwarves"...I think they'd be rather offended). I am a bit disappointed that "The Power of Cake" was not, in fact, about cake!
I would love your copy of Sticky Business (Serious Matter, #93) if it is still available! Many thanks to you for your generosity and for providing a good brain twister for the holidays.
Oh what the heck? I'll take the key for Another Crab's Treasure please! Thank you!
I'm interested in 3, 21, 32, 84, 126 and 113 :) thank you!
I didn't want to clutter up the topic by posting the translations for every single game in the comments (instead, I update the table as people request them), but one of my favorite translations was requested here and I wanted to call attention to it:
32: "Damn Cake" was Hell Pie
I would like #34 Death please, which I believe to be Hades. And #120 Tomato which I have no ideas about but it delights me to request. With many endless thanks, and a wish for your safe travels this season.
Edit: I also just want to guess and guess and guess games, but I wanted to get out of this without having accumulated too many more games, but I was worn down by all the great prompts, even listening to a Lana Del Ray song or two.
Guesses without attached gifts are not only fine, they're encouraged! (More than) Half the fun is trying to figure out what these are.
Well, I'm gonna guess then, but down here and in a
detailstag.Some guesses
1 - 12 minutes
2 - Monument Valley
3 - Last of Us (lol)
4 - Evil Genius
8 - Prison Architect
21 - Cook Serve Delicious 3
47 - Streets of Rage 4
48 - Snufkin - Memories of Moosomething I forget what it is called
51 - Summer House
70 - Harmony's Odyssey
114 - Etherborn, but a specific edition. Probably the premium version.
117 - Tails Noire
124 - Monument Valley 2
I had the good fortune to have been trawling a certain bundle retailer for the last few days looking for deals! What a delightful list.
I won't confirm which game titles specifically, but I'll let you know that of your 13 guesses, you got 4 correct. 😁
110 = The History of the Monoral Road (I'm stumped but this sounds mysterious)
42 = Eratus: The Dead = Iratus Lord of the Dead
51 = Guest House (which @aphoenix has already guessed as Summer House, which I think is a great guess)
72 = Mars Nut Industrial Deluxe Edition = Mars Power Industries Deluxe
More guesses that I'm not claiming:
15 = Andreas Donos II = Andro Dunos II
122 = Transform Hero Game Online = Hero Transform Race
18 = Autonetus x Pyralebotus = Autonauts vs Piratebots
16 = Appearance of Dahlias = Dahlia View
22 = Book of Night = Night Book
Missed that, I think you're onto something!
They're brothers.
6 out of 9 on the guesses!
To be fair, I was focusing more on the jumbled up titles more than the abstract ones. 'Guest house' as 'Toroom' I wouldn't have gotten, I thought that was clever.
As usual, thank you for the inventive and generous giveaway!
I'll have another crack at this one. Is 'Book of Night' the game 'Black Book'? I have 1/6 requests left, if it is 'Black Book' I'll claim it!
Hey @kfwyre, thanks for such a fun format and going above and beyond with this giveaway! Making guesses at these is hard (it turns out i'm really bad at this??) but lots of fun. I've put my guesses in parens
I'm interested in:
103: Thank You for Your Stay!(Thank goodness you're here!?)29: Classification Level(no clue, but I like classifying things)49: Ghost Island(Spirit Island? Always heard good things)122: Transform Hero Game Online(not a clue but it sounds rad)Games I don't want, but have guesses for:
Sue Knight: Bag Jail- Shovel knight: treasure trove?Rice: Unlimited Freedom- Sakuna: of rice and ruin?MEMPEST: PIRATE RPGhas to beTempest: Pirate Action RPGFury Road 4- Streets of Rage 4?18 Minutes- 12 minutes? Also if time ends up running out on the giveaway and there are unclaimed keys, I've been looking for:
I'm pretty sure they're not in there but if you populated this list with some current humble bundles, I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. 😅
Thanks again!
LMAO
Many of these are hilarious but for some reason I found that one with just the first letter swapped especially hilarious. Like gee I wonder what game Mitcher 3: The Wild Hunt could be....
Now I'm imagining a game about some guy named Mitch going on a hunt XD
3 out of 9 on your guesses!
Sounds about right 😅
The above giveaway has now entered FREE-FOR-ALL MODE for its final 24 hours.
Anyone may request AS MANY GAMES AS THEY WANT. That includes people who have already gotten games from me!
ASK AWAY. Many of these keys expire at the end of this calendar year (a little over a week from now) so if they don't go to a good home they just get wasted.
If you get stuff you're not interested in, feel free to give them to someone else or donate them to SteamDB.
SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS:
I have decided to reveal all the remaining titles so people can choose what they want.
Any requests within the next 4 hours will be gifted today.
Instead of closing the giveaway, I will leave it open for giveaways while I'm away for the holidays, so no rush.
That said, if you request something more than four hours from now, I will not be able to fulfill it until December 30th (so you will have to wait a bit to get your keys).Hi, I would be interested in 9 and 53 if they are still available. Thank you for the creative raffle!
SLIGHTER CHANGE OF PLANS TO THE ALREADY SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS:
I didn't like the idea of people having to wait until December 30th for their keys. I copied the remaining ones into my phone so that I can still give them away while I'm away.
So, to recap:
The giveaway is in FREE-FOR-ALL MODE and anyone can request any keys they like.
It will remain open UNTIL DECEMBER 30TH.
If you're worried about asking for too many games, don't be!
I legitimately love giving these away. It makes me happy every time someone requests one, six, seven, or ten.
Many of these expire soon, so if they don't go they'll just vanish.
Of the ones still on offer, I can personally recommend:
I'd like 20 and 60 if you still got them, thanks!
I was indeed worried about asking for too many games, but since that's ok, I'll take Streets of Rage 4 if no one else did (search didn't bring anything at least)
Many thanks!
I would like to request the following if they are still available:
Again, thank you very much for offering, it is very generous of you, much appreciated.
If it's okay and they are still available, I would like to request the following:
Merry Christmas, everyone
Oh what the heck?
I'll ask for 95, 96, 112, and 116. Because I am so curious about those last two in particular! What is The Most Popular Game of the Year??
Got them! The Most Popular Game of the Year is, apparently... Rising Storm: Game of the Year Edition A 2013 FPS WWII game with under 100 reviews. I wonder where in translation it seemed to drop the actual title and focus on the "Game of the Year" part.
Also "The Singer's Mirror has Been Reworked" is Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror, "She saw a rocket" is Rocket Rats, and Start Sewing is... The Crackpet Show!!
Yeah I really want to know where that last one's name morphed.
A good haul, but none of them are my cup of tea. (Kinda funny since my first batch were all hits for me, so I guess it's now evened out.) So, if anyone wants the keys, say the word and they're yours! Rocket Rats in particular seems pretty good, just not a fan of bullet hell games.
If no one wants them, I'll donate the keys to Steam DB on Tuesday since they might expire soon.
I'll take 12, 18, 69, 85, 98, 107 and 127! Can't really make any good guesses about what any of these are.
I've already claimed, so I'll post these requests as a backup for when we hit the end of the event. If anyone who hasn't claimed under this giveaway wants them, go right ahead!
7 - A Fearful Heart
28 - Classic Runes
61 - In the Ancient World
64 - It's a Dream
78 - Nightless
97 - Stop the World
111 - The Midnight Oath
Mind if I take 16 27 28 33 45 56 67 70 86 89 102 and 111? I found the translated titles of these funny and would be curious to see what I get.
It seems people are scared of small numbers so to help, I’ll take 1, 2, 4 and 5. I’ll also take 33 because the translated name is so mysterious
Alright, here are some random picks ending in 9. I'll have them if no one else takes them! I can't guarantee I'll play them since I have no idea what they are (that's why I was waiting for the end) and I'll let you know if any are repeats. These do not overlap Eidolon's.
9 A Lot Of
19 Background Image
39 Down
59 In Fact, This Is the Problem of the Sunnah
79 Nightlife
119 To Live
For anyone doing a CTRL+F:
@Protected already owned 39 and 79, so they have been returned to the giveaway pool and are in fact still available!
Oh boy I've been trying to wrap my brain around some of these titles and am stumped, lol. I'm just going to list a bunch that sound interesting to me but please give them to others if they have also requested them, I've gotten plenty already. I just love checking out random/silly games that I otherwise would have never heard of. I've discovered a few really neat little games from some previous giveaway threads. So thanks again for doing this!
8 a large prison (prison architect would be too obvious, right?)
26 appearance of dahlias (dahlia view, this one seems fairly straightforward compared to the rest)
36 destroy the knights (gotham knights?)
38 difficult (lmao dark souls? ha not sure but imagine a game just called Difficult)
39 down (downwell?)
40 easily angry (is there a video game adaptation of 12 Angry Men cuz that would be my guess)
53 he has to swim (why? is he drowning? subnautica would make sense but I don't think it's that easy)
54 he is lonely (maybe because he drowned? lol no clue on this one)
80 no crown 2 (kingdom 2 thrones maybe?)
85 play like a crocodile (lil gator game?)
123 try to kill (maybe one of the hitman games?)
127 well my hand is known (some card game maybe? idk but love deckbuilders)
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat
I picked a few that had fun names: #11, #31, #55, #82
I think #11 is probably Aces & Adventures? It's the only one I could guess.
I'm interested in #63, 118 and 129! For World Wide Web 2k25 my first thought was something like hypnospace outlaw but then I got stuck thinking about what an internet simulator for 2025 would be like lol
Nominations:
35 - Description of the Shogun - 'Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun'
That's all I guess for now, might try again later tonight. Number 10 seems quite obvious! Got to be Bridge Constructor Portal? Not claiming though.
Eh, what the heck?
I'll take 50 (GRAPES), 68 (Lonely Ship - Cursed Island Explorer), 74 (Monsters of Econdrate Island) and 91 (Sarah Academy!).
I'm hoping 91 is Kraken Academy!!, but that's the only guess I have of the batch. Particularly because how the heck did "Hexarchy" become "Tomato"????? Honestly I'm hoping "GRAPES" is somehow "DREDGE" xD
I might add some more guesses later, but pretty sure "Mempest: Pirate RPG" is Tempest. Not claiming that one though.
43 Ethrian Odyssey in HD Quality: Etrian Odyssey HD
37 Destroyer 64: DOOM 64
117 The Tail Is Black: Tails Noir
128 With Violence: Hyperviolent
This is hilarious! Gonna guess a few now without looking at what other people might have guessed. If someone else claimed them first please give it to them instead, I just wanted to guess a few for the fun of it.
13 Airport Director Dr. (Airport CEO?)
24 Catalytic Development (Potionomics?)
71 Lucky to Be a Homeowner (Luck be a Landlord?)
108 The Devil (Hades/Diablo?)
121 Train Station (Mini Metro?)
A bunch of the other ones sound like anime/isekai titles to me (Oh no! I've been "Transform Hero Game Online" and now "The Singer’s Mirror Has Been Reworked"), lol.
Edit: Ha, 2/5 not sure if I should be pleased with myself of not. Anyways thanks for the games and thanks for everything you do for the site, u/kfwyre!
Could I have 10 and 100?
I think 10 is bridge constructer portal, and I have no idea what 100 could be, but the translated name sounds cool and who doesn’t love powers of 10
I'll ask for #46, Frame Frame because it's hilarious and I don't know. Maybe Fatal Frame?
I'm on my phone, so I'll come back later and spend more time guessing.
I'm so bad at word puzzles and out of touch with so many games, I have no idea what any of these are 😅 Hexarchy --> Tomato is hilarious, though!
I'm interested in either 106: The Courage of the Alchemist or 130: You Will Be Late. The former because it sounds neat and I like mixing things together and the latter because it's prophetic for everything I have ever done or will ever do for my entire life.
Thanks kfwyre!
Haha this is awesome! I'll try 115, 125, and 130–132. I have to know what 115 is, lol.
u/arctanh beat you to 130 by a hair, but everything else is yours. If you want to request a replacement for that one, feel free!
Oh okay, I'll try 87!
I'm going to guess that 85 (Play Like a Crocodile) is Lil' Gator Game! If so, I would take it!
Edit: I was just given an extra key by another user, so in the event I guessed right, I'll pass this key along to someone else!
Somebody beat you to it, sorry! Feel free to request anything else you like though.
That's fair! I'll take Tiny Terry then!
All right, it's one of my favorite times of the year!
Tildes continues to be a cozy delight and I'm happy to give back in a small way. is one of my favorite cozy websites and I'm happy to try and give back. I've got some pretty old Humble keys from a period of indie gaming I'm especially nostalgic for, plus some newer stuff too. Please let me know if something doesn't redeem, but they should be fine.
All of these games are ones I've enjoyed or had recommended to me, so you can't go wrong!
All I ask is that you play the game in the next few months and tell me what you think of it (either here or in the weekly "What are you playing" thread). Don't just add it to your backlog, never to be seen again. 😁 This is an honor-system + best-effort request, so don't worry too much if something stops you from playing/reporting back. Just like, don't claim a game without the intention to play it when you can.
And, a shameless plug: if you like these recommendations and would like to see more games I've enjoyed, I run a small media review site: https://david.reviews/games/
Giveaway is first-come, first-serve and one per person. I'll edit as things are claimed.
I've got (in roughly release order, old -> new):
Euro Truck Simulator 2Retro City Rampage DXFull Throttle: RemasteredLegend of Grimrock 2SupralandI would definitely take Supraland! Thanks in advance if you choose me!
All you, enjoy!
Requesting Legend of Grimrock 2, please. I love the old dungeon crawlers from before the turn of the century. I played the first one for awhile (before my laptop gave out), so I imagine this should be just as great.
Sent, enjoy! I hope it's just as good as the first one.
I'll take Euro Truck Simulator 2. I tend to try to play new games as soon as I get them.
You got it!
I would love Full Throttle: Remastered, please!
Sent, enjoy!
I would love Retro City Rampage DX. And to your point, this is why I love this giveaway. I try and choose games I have wanted to try for a while and force myself to actually play them instead of just throwing them into my backlog. Great way to start the new year and then I'm reminded again of it when the Steam recap comes around.
Sent!
Hey it's the guy with the cool review site. I'm glad you still keep up with it! I've thought about trying to learn web development by doing something similar, so thanks for explaining things on your about page!
I'd like to check out West of Dead if it's still available.
You got it, and thanks for reading! Sending shortly.
If you ever want tips or pointers on web dev, just let me know! It's more intimidating than it seems, but it's not actually that hard to get something working (which is where all projects start). 😁
Thanks again! And yeah I might take you up on that one day. My experience in web dev primarily consists of creating some barebones html pages in middle school computer class, lol. I'm sure things have come a long way since...
They have, but it all sort of boils down to that. Plus there's a ton of resources out there now!
Never forget.
My proudest moment as a Tildes user, personally
Entering with "Video Games" just so I can post this lyric:
...always makes me think that Scorpion would make for a good snuggler.
I don't know or listen to Lana Del Rey, so I googled "funny fake Lana Del Rey song titles", you know, instead of actually looking up a real title, and my answer is "Diet Coke & Regret".
Since the oh so fitting Video Games is already taken I'll put forward Summertime Sadness.
I'll also mention Hallucinogenics without putting it forward so I can bring up that I like referring to it as that song by cringe guy and video games girl.
As a real out of left field pick, I'm going to say her cover of "Secret of the Witch" from that Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark movie!
This giveaway item was claimed and is no longer available, thank you!
Original post:
Sorry I don't really have the resources at this time to contribute a big list of games or anything super special, and I'm not really the humble bundle buying type of person to have lots of keys incidentally lying around, but upon seeing this thread I realized I do have a little something I might try to give away.
I've had Don't Starve Together in my "Steam Inventory" as a gift item for a very long time - almost a decade.
From what I understand, this game always includes a gift copy when purchased, and an ex-partner of mine talked me into playing the game with her like a decade ago. She had already purchased her own copy and given the gift version to her brother, so in order to participate, I had to purchase my own, and that act earned me a gift copy that I have never gifted since then.
This is a multiplayer-only game (Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together are separate singleplayer and multiplayer versions of the same game, basically) and I'm gifting you one copy of it which means you should understand that if you have someone in mind to play this with, and you accept this, when they purchase the game, they'll be left with an unused gift copy as well, unless you're planning to play with an odd number of players and receiving this gift sorts that organizing out. Maybe you already have a group that played/would play again and need to hook up a potential new player with a copy of the game, could be good for that too.
There is no need to prove to me that you have a plan for how to benefit from receiving it or that you have an odd numbered group to play with or any intention to play it at all to receive this gift from me, I am just making clear how receiving this game can be kind of awkward unless you have an odd numbered playgroup.
Important: this is not a Steam key but a Steam inventory item, so in order for me to gift it to you, I believe we would have to add each other as Steam friends first, then I can use my "send gift" button to give you the game. Steam does say the item is tradable, so let's say if you already own the game and want to give it to a future participant in your gaming circle Don't Starve Together group who isn't literally you, we can try the trade functionality and see if that works, and then you would activate it as a gift upon them.
Lastly, I actually kinda hated this game so please don't ask me to play it with you after, the answer will be no! Sorry!
I will literally give it to the first person who asks for it, no requirements or anything.
I'm only chiming in because I did not get on with this game. I came from playing Stardew Valley with my partner, to this. And the change could not have been more brutal. I think I credit this game with teaching me that I apparently not not value "a challenge" in my games, I value escapism, cosy vibes, funky music, achievable goals. Not carrying a heated stone around all the time and then dying later because I my home got burned down later.
I was holding off, but since nobody else has claimed it I would be happy to take the game off your hands to gift to one of my kids. I have the game, but can't play it with them right now, so we have never really tried it out.
Keys have expired Thank you for everyone that participated. Happy new year!
I have twelve codes to give away.
You can wait for me to edit this post and write up some more information about them each day until I reveal the title in a couple of days*, or you can give me a 1-12 and gamble. But, with great power comes great responsibility and some rules may change.
If you already own the gifted game or truly don't like the type of game you received, I do have plenty of backups for you to choose from. No walking away with empty hands.
If you want to play along give me a number on the list below and tell me something you were proud of accomplishing this year.
First come first serve.
*As follows:
1. Rating - New rule introduced!
2. Genre/Short description - New rule introduced!
3. Name - No new rule since day 2 received very few responses.
Here's the list:
9. The Royal Writ remains unclaimed - Very Positive 81% - Hilarious Historical Card Battles11. Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters remains unclaimed - Mostly Positive 79% - Purge All Daemons12. Wild Bastards remains unclaimed - Mostly Positive 76% - Space Western Shooter - Recent Reviews show Mixed 50% but I find no specific reason. Looks like an anomaly.@EditingAndLayout already owned number 1 so will receive a code from the backup list. This means number 1 is back on the menu. They landed on the backup code for Satisfactory.
Note: Added a new rule and a description of the game that I shamelessly
stolecopied from where I got the keys myself. This may also reveal what's behind the doors for some people.I would love #5 because number 5 is alive! And it also relates to my story.
Last year, my wife and son conspired together and got me a package of 5 hot sauces that had increasing heat levels. My son carefully seasoned several chips with each sauce, and we had a Hot Ones style interview and answer period at our kitchen table over the course of the Christmas afternoon, where my son played Sean Evans and asked questions. It was actually a really thoughtful and great gift; he knows I love spicy foods, and Hot Ones, and he asked good questions and it was nice to sit and talk while we were hanging out in each other's presence on a holiday.
That is such a cute story! What an amazing gift. Such a memorable moment.
Also, I'm not kidding when I say that I grew up on Short Circuit. My parents taped a copy of it off the TV and we probably watched it until the tape flat out died. It was genuinely my favorite movie for a while.
Yet another data point for our ongoing clone theory...
It was genuinely my favourite movie for a while, and we also watched it on a tape that we taped off TV. Clones for life!
Thank you for sharing! What makes that worthwhile is the time spent together I assume. What was your favourite question he asked? If you want to share of course. I can imagine keeping the memory for yourself.
I have sent you the name of the game over DM. If you already own it or really don't want this game I have a backup list of codes available (and if I remember your preferences correctly, this may be a bit out of your wheelhouse).
Partially the time spent together, but also the thoughtfulness of putting something like that together. My son is 11 and doesn't have a job so he can't just buy any old thing on his own, he has to ask someone to take him somewhere, and put some time and effort and thought into anything he gets for someone, so he thought of the things he knows that I like and put in some work to make it special. He could have just got 5 bottles of hot sauce - that would be a great gift, I love hot sauce - but he added (sorry for being saccharine) a bit of love and thoughtfulness.
I won't post them all, but here's a couple of the questions: "If you weren't doing what you did now for work, what would you want to do and why?" "How did you meet [his godfather], and why did you pick him to be [his godfather]."
Wonderful. That must be a special memory.
I was hoping for stories of all kinds, even saccharine ones. They are all what makes us human. (sorry for being sappy)

Now to reply to the actual thread (thank you @fefellama)
#2, because I've made friends with a blackbird and he's found where my window is where my gaming computer is located, and I can see him hopping around right now. He keeps taking my food offerings away to a secret location, potentially to his nest (it is breeding season here currently). So it has to be 2, because I'm hoping there is a pair of them. I'm not living in a house with cats, so birds have taken over my life a little!
Ah birds! Interesting animals. They can really connect to people in strange ways. Be kind to them and they will remember. Try not to get him too fat ;)
Let's hope it's a pair and seal the deal with a lottery using number 2!
DM sent.
Update: PAIR CONFIRMED!!! After three months, I finally spotted the female blackbird yesterday. She was flying back to the same place as the male always did, so I'm quite confident. Lucky number 2 indeed.
Thank you thank you, t'was all me and my code and I'll be here all night.
Kidding aside, I'm happy you came back to share!
I've been looking into this to ensure I'm not doing more harm than good and that what I give is digestible. The garden is quite overgrown and there are plenty of critters about, so I'm keeping portions small.
I'll take a roll on #6! Good strong number. Round, but stout. Can hide if it turns upside down.
Not quite an anecdote! I'll mark it because you wrote something, but I still think an anecdote about you or something you've seen is necessary for the goal. Can be as short and simple as the blackbird above too. No personal information necessary of course.
Ha, fair enough!
Let's see. My wife loves birds and drawings and I'm not crazy about either. But for her birthday every year I do a bird drawing for her. She says they're getting better, but it's hard to believe I'm making much improvement at 1 drawing / year. This year was a barn owl, since we can hear them from our house. Who knows what it'll be next year!
No worries but thank you for the story. I was looking for a bit of humanity in the responses when I asked for an anecdote and yours is lovely. Thank you for sharing a little bit about your happiness. Maybe the next one is two birds! Or a really strange one that doesn't actually fly.
DM sent!
New round, new rules. I have updated the list with a short description of the game making your choice perhaps a little easier but require more introspective answers as the challenge.
Can I get Ixion?
Something I'm proud of accomplishing this year: Stability for my wife. In short, we moved to Colorado late 2024, it was very necessary for various reasons, but complete life upheaval isn't easy for many, my wife especially so. This year we've successfully gotten her settled, into a routine, new hobbies, new burgeoning local friends, and she's much better mentally and significantly happier than before. Next year I hope to get myself to a similar point.
Wonderful, thank you for sharing. I hope you can keep that upward momentum and get your wife and yourself in a good place.
I will send you Ixion over DM!
Fine. How many times have I been ill this year? Four! In fact, added together with some excruciatingly painful root canal troubles, I've been down for a good four months out of the whole year. And things had been so good health-wise in 2023-2024... I'm currently willing my digestive track to please resume functioning before christmas, but I suspect it looks like a nuclear bomb went off in there.
Is this where number 4 will finally bring good luck to someone? Good thing I'm a westerner!
Oh man you've hit the one game that's strangely relevant to your story and your musings on Asian death. Maybe in name only but still! I hope you will feel good enough to christmas-dinner your digestive tract into cooperating with you. Anyhow, if you've been good healthwise in 23 and 24 that's double the time spent feeling well! That means something.. right?
DM sent!
Okay, hit me with number 8.
First year university I partied with a girl on the floor below me in my dorm. She was wild. One night of many I helped her back to her dorm room and put her to bed with her roommate. 14 years later I met her dorm roommate on a dating website and now she is my wife. The roommate, not the girl I partied with.
Congratulations! Wife can take some strange turns. Uh, life I mean!
DM Sent.
Haha, fantastic reply! Thank you!
I'd love Tower Unite. I'm proud of finally going on a diet and actually sticking to it, lost 10kgs in about 3 months :D
Woah that is impressive, congrats!
That is indeed impressive! Definitely something to be proud of.
DM Sent!
One thing I am proud of accomplishing this year is that I started to code more often, and mostly without tutorials (although I still google a lot). It's just as people say: you need to find a project, and commit to it. Hopefully, I can find another project to keep me busy during the winter break; maybe a game, if I'm not busy playing them, that is.
Requesting #1 Dungeons of Hinterberg, please.
If you need a little combination of games and programming, The Farmer Was Replaced is a really rewarding method of learning.
Good on you for choosing something and improving yourself!
Code will be sent by DM! Enjoy!
I'll try number 1!
The first time I went to Prince’s Hot Chicken in Nashville, the line wrapped around the building. When I ordered the Hot, the cashier didn’t warn me. She just nodded and wrote it down. I sat at a small table telling myself it couldn’t be that bad. Two bites in, my eyes were watering, my fingers were burning, and I kept going. And let's just say I didn't sleep much that night, haha.
Perseverance pays off! I'm sure the next time you will be prepared. Thank you for the funny story.
I changed the rules after posting the ratings but didn't signal it properly so I'll send you #1!
Funny, a couple days ago I was thinking of going with number 7 since that's my favorite number (my favorite soccer team since I was a kid had a big history of number 7 being the best player on the team). But I figured I would wait and see what the others might be, plus let other people claim some.
Well now it's been a couple days and I see 7 is still available, and it sounds fantastic (love me some roguelites/roguelikes). So I'll definitely take it if that's alright.
Edit: oh whoops I had so much fun guessing what the games could be that I forgot to say something I was proud of. Well I've posted elsewhere that my wife and I are going through a big change in 2026, moving countries, starting new lives basically. And so this year we did A LOT of the prep work for that. Saving money, selling our house, visas, passports, research, etc. So much work that hopefully will pay off this coming year. So I'm proud of how far we've come compared to where we were when we first contemplated this move towards the end of 2024.
And in the spirit of the thread, I have some guesses as to what a few of the games might be. The description were helpful, but then the review scores really narrowed it down a ton:
Hiding it in case anyone wants to try and work it out for themselves
1 Dungeons of Hinterberg
7 Spiritfall (I first thought Hades but the review score didn't match up)
9 The Royal Writ
12 West of Dead
Congratulations! That will be lifechanging indeed. I can't imagine what kind of prep needs to go into that to make it work. I wish you luck.
Maybe you can take your mind off of it should it become too much with door number 7!
I was about to update the list with the names for the final day, so I no longer have to hide it in the DMs. You are indeed correct! Number 7 is indeed Spiritfall. I will send you code.
Ha, 3/4 for my guesses ain't too bad. Thanks!
And yeah who knew changing nearly every aspect of your life could be so monumental, lol. So much prep work but hopefully all worth it in the end. We are fortunate that we have family to rely on and the means to make this big life change, so I can't complain too much.
If I may request number 10, Tower Unite, I would be very grateful!I'm proud of myself this year for finishing a three-year diploma in university despite all the hardships! I learned a ton about my discipline, and about myself. I'm slowly learning to take on projects on my own, too, which is something I've always wanted!
EDIT: Ah, whoops! Seems like it was already claimed and I missed that completely. No big deal! If @under sees this, I'd love to know your thoughts on it, I've always been a little curious about it; hope you enjoy!
I tried it out yesterday and it seems fun but I still need to convince a few friends to buy it so we can play together 😅
If anything, the condo customization part of it seems really good even if you play solo. Lots of options in the workshop.
I hope you can get some peeps!
It did seem really impressive to me; in particular, how you can have game arcade cabinets that run actual emulators and the like. That's so cool!
Apologies, I wasn't able to properly update my post and it appears I missed updating Tower Unite.
Is there something else that catches your eye?
Don't apologize! I'm the one who didn't read the rest.
Nothing else particularly jumps out to me so I'd rather someone else have them, but thank you for offering :) Merry Christmas!
So. I have a lot of game keys. And I do mean a lot. Some of these are returning from the last giveaway, others are new, and some are games I'd originally waffled on keeping for myself but decided "eff it, my backlog is huge" and tacked them onto the list. So!
To top off the list, I have one which may be in high demand: Persona 5 Royal!
I got it in that Humble Choice in August, which I expect a lot of people bought that month just for this game. So demand for it may not be as high as previous years. But either way, I'll do a raffle and announce it on December 23, with this request for you to fill:
Share the gaudiest, funniest winter yard decorations you can find or have seen, or share ideas for them. I'm talking giant inflatable leg lamps, Chewbacca's family dressed up for Life Day and other heartwarming scenes from the beloved classic Star Wars Christmas Special, Calvin-approved snowmen decorations, a crime scene around where Santa ran over grandma, a Calvin-approved snowman crime scene starring Olaf from Frozen as the victim. If you have pictures, all the better!
heck maybe that question should be a standalone thread, hmmThat is the only one with conditions. The rest of the games are first come, first serve! I'll let people claim up to 3 until December 26. Then I'll lift the limit because... well, why not?
From that same month, I have the following games up for grabs, most of them expiring in September 2026:
Banishers: Ghosts of Eden
Let’s SchoolTiny Terry’s Turbo TripWarpips
And for a little bonus: I bought the Wholesome Snack Bundle. The games I'm keeping for sure are Naiad, Shashingo, and Little Known Galaxy, so if anyone else wants one of the other games, say the word before... January, I guess? Honestly all of them seem up my alley (minus maybe Snufkin), so I'll likely redeem the leftover ones myself. I can particularly vouch for Spirittea, which just released an update this month introducing some new content and mechanics. (Fun fact: between playing this month and when I initially got it in February, it accounts for 24% of my playtime according to my Steam Replay.)
(Claimed so far: Botany Manor, Snufkin: Memories of Moominvalley)
Next: Games from kfwyre, courtesy of Fiskerton the Dogtective! And also a couple other games I got from Humble Bundle, unaware that keys from it might expire. So yeah, caveat that these games might not all work.

Hey wow great list! I'd like to enter the Persona 5 raffle please!
As for winter decorations, my favorite non-traditional one is a neighbor of mine that has one of those giant Halloween skeletons out front.... and just leaves it there year-round. So after October they put up a Santa hat on it and some lights to make it festive, lol. For Easter it gets some bunny ears, etc.
There's also a community center near me that does a similar thing. They decorated for the holidays, but left some of their Halloween decorations like a big skeleton and some bats, and just gave the bats little Santa hats and gave the skeleton a white cloth over him and a carrot for a nose and now he's a very lean snowman. Went to go take pictures with Santa there recently with my family and loved that 'snowman'.
As for the other games, I would love to check out The Unexplored 2 and Let's School if possible.
Thanks for contributing!
Keys sent!
Always fun to hear about the giant skeletons, the snowman costume is a new one to me! The sheet makes me think some Halloween decorations could be reworked into a "ghost of Christmas X". Fun to hear about some Christmas Bats too. That sounds like a children's book, heh.
Thanks a ton!
And if you like that, there's also this house nearby where I work that has a manatee mailbox (like the entire mailbox and post is shaped like a manatee holding the actual mailbox in its flippers), and every holiday they decorate him in appropriate gear. Like the santa hat is the obvious once, but I've seen him with a cupid bow for valentines day, with a green hat and four-leaf clover for St. Patrick's Day, and some local sports gear before/after big games. I've never met the owners of the house, but I appreciate their dedication over the last 6 years or so that I've been driving by their house.
The Leg Lamp gets all the attention, so I can't believe I'm the first to remind everyone of the Cowboy Dancing Santa for my Persona 5 entry. It was featured as the main story in not just one, but two episodes of Fraser (the old season and the reboot), making it a fan favorite of the show. It fits in well because it embodies the character clash between the down-to-earth father Martin and his prim and proper sons.
Like the Leg Lamp, this doesn't have much to do with Christmas, but unlike the Leg Lamp, it's a kitschy take on Christmas for which you can sympathize with how both sides feel about it.
I was always surprised this didn't take off; this is one of the few things I remember about Fraser, aside from the episode where Daphne was revealed to be an illegal immigrant that faced deportation during a border crossing in an RV, something something that's so ridiculous it could only be on TV.
As my reading skills are poor, I've only at this point realized that the topic was about Christmas yard decorations. Fortunately, the company that made this vintage piece, Gemmy Industries, is still around, and they now offer a fully inflatable version of the Dancing Cowboy Santa, only now he's Tropical Santa flanked by coconut-bra-wearing penguins (for historical accuracy). Or, if you prefer your Santas to not be dancing but crapping on your lawn, there's fully animatronic Santa in an Outhouse, in which our titular hero peeks out from behind a bathroom door at passerbys while dropping a Yuletide log, as we are all wont to do. You know, he sees you when you're sleeping, so this really isn't all that strange.
And, you'll be glad to know that Dancing Cowboy Santa has been updated for millennials with the Twerking Reindeer and Twerking Snowman, both featuring fully animatronic butts. O Holy Night, indeed.
For my picks, I would like to request Do Not Feed the Monkeys, Say No! More, and/or Trail Out, please.
Meanwhile, because it's topical, if anyone is interested in a cozy and tasteful game about hanging Christmas lights, check out Light Up the Town. It just came out this month, and has amassed over 400 positive reviews in just 13 days.
Keys sent! Hope they work!
And... oh my gosh these are all hilarious. This was the first thing I saw after waking up (though only got to my laptop a bit ago), and these were a great way to start the day. I'm all on-board for tacky indoor decorations too so Dancing Cowboy Santa was already pretty good, but the rest had me cackling! It's like it just kept escalating with how ridiculous they could get. Does Gemmy just specialize in really weird decorations like these?? I want to believe that so I'm afraid to look them up and get disappointed by normal decorations.
Also, that game looks so cute!! Might have to snag it next year, since this year I uh... definitely have a hefty backlog and one Christmas game already lined up.
Thanks for the giveaway! I'd love to get Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip and Botany Manor.
Sent! Good picks, I likely would've redeemed those myself (or at least Botany Manor) if no one claimed them.
I'd like to put in a request for this one.
As for gaudy decorations: I live in a city, so I don't really see lawns anymore, but I do encounter plenty of Christmas markets. Probably the most ridiculous decorations are the Weihnachtspyramide (Christmas pyramids), elaborate candle holders that almost look like a windmill except with the blades fastened horizontally instead of vertically. As warm air rises from the candles, it hits the rotor, causing it to rotate (supposedly -- I tried blowing on one once to see what would happen, and an annoyed merchant told me off: Bitte mach das nicht). They are neat if somewhat silly, but the ridiculousness is magnified a 100-fold when the city scales them up by a factor of 20 and attach these things to the top of Glühwein stands (like so).
Key sent! And I assume you're joining the raffle, too?
Those actually seem pretty fun. I'm just imagining the potential chaos of dangling something from the blades like an ornament on a string. A big one could make for a fun Christmas-themed swing ride at an amusement park!
Thanks! And no, please don't add me to the raffle. As much as I love the Persona series, I've already played P5R, and I'd much rather somebody else get to enjoy it. I was just adding my own anecdote and it definitely wasn't only because I misread your request.
Unfortunately, the blades on the Christmas pyramid-buildings don't seem to actually move. (Likewise, the giant candles also aren't real -- double bummer). However, I would agree that this presents a very exciting opportunity for the enterprising carnie.
Interested in Monster's Den: Godfall. This game is already on my wishlist and it looks like quite an accessible dungeon-crawler. Thank you!
Key sent! Enjoy!
Many thanks.
May I have Nocturnal, please?
Key sent! Have fun!
I'll be ranting about it sometime in 2026!
Yep, I definitely bought that Persona bundle too.
I have had The Final Station on my wishlist forever. May I request that please?
Key sent! Hopefully it works, it's an older Humble key (though I did successfully redeem a key from that same batch yesterday). I remember seeing Markiplier play that one years ago when it came out, and this is one I would've tried to redeem myself if no one claimed it.
Last call to enter the Persona 5 raffle! I'll pick in about 3 hours. (Also I'm totally going to make this question a standalone thread afterwards because the answers have been fun :D)
Alright, did the drawing, and the winner is @BailerAppleby! Congrats!
Now I need to ask this question to Tildes at large because the few answers I got were pretty fun xD
Whoo-hoo, I won! Thank you so much! Now I need to figure out if I should go back and complete Persona 3, which I left unfinished, or dive into this! Really appreciate it, everyone!
Congrats, loved your comment!
Thanks for sharing! I'd be interested in grabbing the Dread X Collection if it's still available, please!
I unfortunately live in an European seaside city where people don't have winter yards for the most part, so I don't really have anything to share, but my mom and I did do our own shopping for the living room. I'm a big fan of this silly reindeer on a spring we've got. I can share a picture later when I get on mobile :)
Key sent! Hope it works!
That sounds fun! I'd love to see a picture when you get a chance!
Got it, activated it, no issues! Thank you so much :D
Here's a picture of the lil' guy. They bounce if you move 'em. It might be very mundane but I'd never seen these spring-mounted decorations before, it's adorable!
Thanks for your generosity! I would love your copy of Coffee Talk, if it's still available?
(I also got the bundle for Persona 5 Royal, but I love the idea of a Star Wars Christmas Special lawn setup - it brings a tear to my eye.)
Key sent!
Also I now really want to see a Star Wars Christmas Special yard... There is so much material there, and I can just hear people cackling when they recognize scenes.
Heya friendo! I would love to have Catizens and/or Snufkin from the Wholesome Snack bundle. As for decorations, there's an ice cream shop on the main street of the town I live in, and back in November, they had an inflatable Santa, who had been knocked over and was being sat on by an inflatable turkey holding a sign saying "Wait your turn, fatty!" Technically a Thanksgiving decoration more than Christmas, but I feel it fits the spirit of the question XD
Sent both, enjoy! Also I love them managing to make a Thanksgiving decoration using Santa. I can imagine a "revenge" Christmas version where the turkey's wrapped in Christmas lights. xD
Kindly requesting

If it’s okay to separate the entry’s series, I’d like Beholder: Conductor. There’s something intriguing about roleplaying in dystopian, authoritarian scenarios. Same kind of
enjoyment you get from 40k lore lol.
I don’t mind if you prefer to wait for someone that redeems the whole collection :)
...Well, turns out I made a mistake. The collection doesn't include Beholder: Conductor. I think I just added it while putting together the link list because A) I added everything with Beholder, and B) one of the items is the Blissful Sleep DLC for the first game. So I knew there were four items and one wasn't numbered, and then got distracted by the Steam page for Conductor (I might like video game trains more than I thought...).
My bad, sorry! If you want the first game (and its DLC) you're free to take it, I'm cool with splitting them up.
No worries! I already have the first one, reserve it for someone that actually needs it :)
Hi friends! I'm obviously definitely late to this giveaway because I kinda did a smol giveaway a month ago and have been too lazy to go through my keys again to figure out what I have and don't have.
I've been thinking on it for a while but I wanted to do something a bit differently than my usual stuff!
This time I'm only going to be giving away 1 copy of Slay the Spire because it's my favorite game ever and this is obviously a game giveaway thread. (you'll have to add me as a friend on Steam because of the way gifting works sadly)
HOWEVER. I will also be doing a $25 donation to a charity of your choice (I can even put your name on it or someone else's)
So in order to get this game please indicate whether or not you want the game or not, and ONE charity that you want me to donate to. Highest voted wins, and if they also want the game, will get it as well. If the highest voted charity doesn't want the game, it'll go to the next person that wants the game (I'll still obviously donate to the highest voted charity)
idk if the rules to this are too complicated but if they are let me know :) I will check this comment again on
December 31stJanuary 3rd!Smol details of charities I currently donate to if you don't want to double up.
(I currently have a monthly donation to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, and this week I've donated to Doctors Without Borders, the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, The Trevor Project, the Greater Boston Food Bank, and the NYC Food Bank. Not to say that you can't pick these charities again, but I figured if you wanted to spread the wealth so to speak)Please put me down as an entry for Slay the Spire. And, I'd like to introduce my charity of choice, War Child Canada.
War Child Canada is a Top 100 charity in Canada that looks to implement generation change within communities impacted by war. They support refugee children and families in conflict zones with protection, education, and economic opportunities.
For example, in Uganda where youth unemployment is at 80%, WCC put 1,300+ youths into apprenticeship programs last year alone while also awarding 138 university scholarships. They also provide support to Afghanistan, South Sudan, Yemen, and others.
They've been around for over 20 years and are known for their financial transparency and high demonstrated impact, so they're a good pick.
Merry Christmas, everyone
80%!!!
Merry Christmas BailerAppleby! Merry Christmas @phoenixrises what a great idea for the giveaway :)

Donated! Thank you for suggesting a charity, and I've sent a DM to you here with how to claim the games and such :)
Received, thank you so very much!
You got this! And Nine Sols as well from the comment below :) Thanks for telling us about these two charities :) I'll put $25 towards War Child in the morning, and DM you right now!
So awesome, thank you very much for this!
While not my favorite game, Slay the Spire is awesome. I fully cleared it on my PC and randomly play it now that it's out on Android. If you're reading this, it's like the OG card battler and so well done. Basically endless combinations although a poison Silent run is endlessly fun.
As for charities, I always donate to the SickKids hospital. Feels extra important this year as one of my employees kids has been in the hospital since October.
@kfwyre if you're still down to donate here, do you think donating to Sick Kids while I donate to War Child Canada is acceptable?
Absolutely
Donation completed!
Good choice of charity, @Wafik, and thanks for letting me jump on board with this, phoenix. Donating is a great way to start off a new year!
Amazing! Always a deserving charity.
If you’ll allow it, I will match the donation and also give $25 to the charity of choice.
Imagine if I was like, "nahhh no more donations that's too much!" but yes of course, thank you for your generosity! Hope you and your loved ones had an amazing Christmas/holidays so far :)
😂 I just wanted to make sure! Thanks for the holiday well-wishes, and I hope the same for you.
Gonna bump my own post because it would be nice to get more entries/interest in this, because I posted on a terrible day haha.
I'm dumb and I forgot to pause my Humble Subscription because I already owned Nine Sols and am not interested in Streets of Rage 4, so I'm gonna give them both away!
Same rules as my other comment! I'll extend the date for both giveaways till Jan 3rd as well.
I would like to request Nine Sols and take this time to tell you about a(nother) very worthy charity deserving of your attention: the Against Malaria Foundation.
Malaria is one of the world's most severe public health problems that disproportionately affects Africa more than any other continent. Here, malaria is responsible for:
The thing about malaria is that it is completely preventable and curable. There is an answer to this epidemic, and it is funding. The amazing thing is how far a donation to AMF can go.
The Against Malaria Foundation isn't looking for a cure or hosting international conferences or anything like that. Instead, all the money that goes to this charity is used to buy long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) that are distributed to those in need for free. Yes, that's right: according to charity watchdog Charity Intelligence Canada, 100 cents of every dollar of AMF public donations are used to buy LLINs, and the results are astounding.
AMF reports that:
One net costs just over 2 dollars. Very recently, AMF reached a donation milestone of $789 million.
In conclusion, AMF is a high-impact charity in which your donations can really make a difference.
Very sorry for being late, but I would like to offer these games to anyone who would like them, no restrictions; simply name your request(s) in a comment below. I'll list them below with a short description to spur your interest. Note that the bottom keys are for GoG, not Steam:
