Instead of fading the replies after clicking on "Mark as Read", it should just remove it immediately. It's really, really time consuming to have to mark 40 something replies as read. I know this can be solved with a "mark all as read" button, but I do actually want to go through and read all of them.

Is it just me, or is the session timeout set very short (or strictly tied to an IP)?

I've had to login 3 times this morning at work, and I couldn't have been idle for more than an hour or so each time.

I feel that the mobile user interfaces has been developed and changed immensly compared to desktops, when it comes iOS and Android. While Windows has pushed some controversial but interesting features, macOS and Linux DEs has been kind of stagnant. Has desktop interfaces reached its peak form? Or is there more developments to come?

I think the option to save a topic or comment would be a good addition. For example, I have had a ~music topic about music everyone's listening to open for over a day so that I can pick a new group to listen to each time I do homework. Sure, I could write them all somewhere, but I think it's a nice QoL improvement nonetheless.

Edit: I'd like to add to this @Ganymede 's idea of following a topic to get notified of new comments inside it. Maybe this could apply to a specific comment chain, too, since a whole topic will be a lot once the site explodes. ;)

If I have marked all comment replies are read, that link will show me an empty page.

So I thought that visiting https://tildes.net/notifications/ should show me all the past replies to my comments, but that's returning 404.

So, is there a place where I can see all the read notifications/replies?

I'm looking forward to someone creating a family tree from the creation of Tildes to some future point in time. Since the entire site is invite only would be interesting to see the who invited who and how the site blossomed.

While actually the fact of being a small group could be playing a big role in this feeling, it just feel good to realise that some unrest I was feeling in the last months was just due to lack of meaningful discussions.

I was finding myself checking Reddit over and over (the meme about Reddit as an empty refrigerator feel terribly apt today) while I check here a couple times a day and get some interesting insight every. Single. Time.

I'm starting a new job soon and I believe I'll eventually be in the on-call rotation. I've never done on-call in a formal sense. Past jobs I was always pretty junior and I tended to work on mobile apps that don't have all that many emergency problems. The closest I've ever come to a real on-call was helping some charities run their website.

I don't really perform well under pressure and I'm pretty terrified. I've heard that a lot of places have automatic rollbacks and other methods of automatically dealing with things, so pages only really happen when something is really broken.

How do people deal with issues like that? What happens if I'm not able to figure something out within a good time limit?

I suggested already to have a setting in the profile to allow the user to decide if links should open in new tab so you won't lose the content you were being on this website. In the meanwhile I made a very simple script that does that for you using tampermonkey.
